Great knife skills. So glad to see a recipe with the addition of the lily buds.
Chef John's precision cutting is always amazing to watch. He makes everything look so effortless and I've never seen anything he makes that isn't a world class version of whatever it is. This man is a true culinary artist. God I would love a bowl of THAT soup!! Hot and sour is one of my favs.
I absolutely love hot and sour soup.
I love the idea of adding the vinegar last to the bowl. That way it doesn't cook out.

I do not agree. I like mine sour, but my husband likes less. This method allows both of us to have our perfect mix.

Exactly what my restaurant’s hot and sour soup is like. The only thing is no black mushrooms and Lily, but with the addition of carrot and chili flakes. I am pretty sure there is pork in it.

I don’t see put any kind of vinegar to make it sour? Not sure whit white pepper in the soup to make it hot either???

Check 3:50, sweet black rice vinegar and white pepper were added

White pepper is key source of heat.
Hot and sour chicken soup recipe pls. Easiest way possible. Those wok and fryer is not possible at home.
