aside from these other comments about ethics and such the real reason is to train bravery in horses. they are naturally very timid and so need to be trained as warhorses for the picadors to be able to even get close to use their spears

Jossin 7 it’s still shockingly dangerous to put those two animals in a pen together. the horse has its ears pinned back - that means it’s either scared or angry, meaning it’s not just kidding around with that bull. it’s as unsafe as American schools at this point

1º - The Lusitano is a Portuguese breed, explain how the horse has a "distinctly Spanish in appearance"........Lol 2º Lusitano and Andaluz are not the same horse, they are "cousin" , the Lusitano is even the breed that has more resembles with original Iberian horse. 3º Stop saying bullshits, that only mislead the ones who don´t know the breed

Lusitano was chosen for other reasons, far away of Spanish stallions. The functionality. Spanish stallions and mares was choosen for the beauty. But also now spanish breed have won many awards in Dressage, with spectacular horses.

@@jossin7323 Rice again? Lusitano Horse is a Portuguese breed, Andalusian Horse is a Spanish breed, both of them, came from the same ancestor, the Iberian Horse. The Lusitano is beein proved, by DNA test that is the one, who has more resemblance with the Original Iberian Horse. That happens because the Lusitano wasn´t "mixed" with other breeds like the Andalusian. Lusitano horse has nothing to do with Spain, like the Andalusian has nothing to do with Portugal, are we clear on that?
