Of all the Iberian horses, I have always felt the Lusitano horse was the best looking!

I have not seen the horses in this detail before and am so thankful for this video. They have natural beauty, agility and sensibility - with their riders, they make a perfect teams. How wonderful to see their agility, fluid movement, obedience and anticipation to please. Thank you ever so much for this wonderful post. Bravo to your spectacular breed, the Lusitano.

Iberian-type horses have been my favorite since I was a kid. Andalusians of course but the Lusitano is just as gorgeous but comes in more colors, truly beautiful horses.

Maybe it could be interesting to explain the real diference in the iberian horses, how the diference began, the diference between pre and andalouser.... And more....😊 And maybe also something about the yearly horse show in jerez spain 🤔

Your point is well taken, however the client who wanted this filmed is a Lusitano owner/breeder, so the focus more intently pointed at the Lusitano, which is their breed of choice to promote. We are keenly aware of the PRE's and Andalusians and DO have episodes in our library and one in production on Andalusians and PRE's.

Don’t they wear hard hats there. Many riders without head gear, yes they are wearing traditional caps but there are children riding without safety gear. The horses are magnificent and what a spectacle it is.

Years ago there were handy pony classes at gymkanas all over uk ,,many of of the elements are similar, ,,

Good observation. It is very popular in Europe, slow to catch on in the U.S.

I had the pleasure to work with one on a stage play during a summer. He was just a terrific animal. What a fine personality and ability.

Yeah, many lusitanos together, but did'nt you saw two weeks ago 500 friesian horses on the beach in north holland, netherlands. In friesland are about 20.000 and in whole the world like 70.000 registrated friesians.😊

What an ignorant and ill considered remark. Both breeds are remarkable in their own way and in their own country. I believe both breeds would admire what each country is doing to preserve such horses.

@@deborahdearden6558 you have to read better, i'm only telling that in that video i could see many lusitaners together on the show, and at the other hand i'm asking the maker of this video if he saw the friesian beachride, because it's really rare to see so many horses together. ☺️.

Beautiful!! All those in USA there's not any stacks on their feet, or cut tails like the have in Tennessee USA, called big lick!! There many horses are abused and put out to slaughter trucks. So sad! Please educate those in big lick abusing Tennessee walking horses!!!

They should really bring out some cattle...

There is almost no diference between lusitaner, pre and andalousia horses. At least for me. 😅

If you trace them back to their origins, they came from the same geographical region, but by political differentiation between Spain and Portugal, their paths were slightly altered resulting in the breed differences. In a similar vein, Morgans took divergent routes- one with many outcrosses that were permitted up until 1950, and the traditional bloodlines without any known outcrosses, resulting in the traditional Morgan line (purebred Lippitt bloodlines), and the contemporary Morgan which incorporates other breeds, up until the Registry closed this around 1950. Same breed, divergent paths over 200 years. @@HorseTVGlobal yes of course they were same, but in the time and over years breeding for other qualitys they are a bit diferent, but dificult to see. Like the head, the croup and the more refined hindquarters.... Each owner of an iberian horse can dee and feel diference, but most people don't see much diference. They are bred on diferent way: lusitaner for the work with animals and sport like working equitation, snd the pre & andalouser morr to be beautiful for the sport,more elegant. It's like kwpn horses who are bred for sport and kwpn who are bred as jumpinghorse. And the result is enormous. A jumpbreeded horse can jump 1,30m on his 5/6 years and a normal kwpn sporthorse will have dificutys to jump over 1 m on 8/9 years. Look at the ISH irish sporthorse, last i saw one, bishops quarter, jumping over 2.25m. and an irish vet, holly lenahan, has two young ISH and they jump already 1,2 and 1,4m. But this breed are really jumphorses. So in each breeding stable, irish, dutch, spanish, portuges, friesians, thouroughbred... They try to have the best resuls for what they're looking for. In thr netherlands are already a few breedingstables who are crossing the pre and lusitaner with kwpn, to make them better.☺️

As you well know, there are many horse breeds that don't need fixing, but people tend to define the horses by what they want to breed for, in many ways altering the conformation, genetics, attributes, etc., to conform to their own personal desires and interests. The Morgan breed is a classic example, as the original Justin Morgan horse who became legendary for his attributes and prepotency, was described as being 14:0 to 14:1 hands. Because owners wanted a taller, leaner, longer, higher stepping horse, it was crossbred with saddlebreds, hackneys, many different breeds, and now you have a "contemporary Morgan that can easily be 16:2 hands and has a saddlebred appearance to it. Several years ago the World Champion Morgan in hand Stallion FCF Rhythm Nation was discovered by investigation to be half saddlebred, and nearly 50 horses were expunged from the Registry. It underscored how far away from the original Morgan type, the breed had drifted.@@joannesmartens9442

For example, all not in breeding register registratet horses, also mixes are called andulusier. Registered horses with breading papers are PRE or Lusitanos. There you can can follow the pedigree and so on.

@@utemeckbach9786 of course i know that, but i meant to say the diference exterior, how they look. When you have a lusitaner at the side of a pre, and you have to say witch one is the pre, it's dificult, because they speak same language, and not spanish or portuges, and they look the same. And all pre are andalusier but not every andaluser is pre because pre are registrated in a studbook. But they are same. But a lusitaner has little diferences witch are dificult to see for me.🥰

Need to cut out the the American hunter rider who just can't help see-sawing the reins even when the horse is just standing...

It's a shame the people don't dress appropriately when riding in the carriages. Most don't seem to show the pride and elegance of the history and traditions of their sport. Even most of the riders of the horses don't dress for the occasion. Pity!

Your point is well taken, there is a social correctness to carriage driving, even by time of day. There is nothing more beautiful than a correct carriage turnout.

Fue el rey de España Felipe II , s. XVI, quien inició la yeguada, formación de los caballos de Guerra españoles los Pura Raza Española que son el Andaluz, Cartujano y Lusitano. EL Lusitano hoy está mezclado con el inglés para ser más alto.😊

No. The lusitano and the andalusian diverged when the spaniards where forbidden to bullfight in horseback. There the way they where selected to breed was different. The portuguese kept breeding for bullfighting, the spaniard started to breed for beauty, and pulling carriages on sundays. That's why most bullfighting horses even in spain are lusitanos or lusitano crossed.

When the last spanish habsburg died without heirs, his uncle ( that came from france) replaced him. He was horrified by the bullfighting, and prohibited it. Your people started to do it by foot. It's your own history. The lusitano breed is fine, leave it alone.
