Horse Rescue Transformation Story

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This is a horse rescue transformation story I wanted to share about Z. He was on his way to slaughter before being rescued by Betsy, his current owner. He has come a long way and I am so proud of him ❤️
In this video, I start by giving a little bit of background about Z and how his horse rescue journey started. I then talk a little bit about his anxiety and aggression and his road to recovering physically. Like many horse rescues, Z's biggest issue was recovering mentally. He experienced an abusive past history, and building trust was a big challenge. Through patience and training, I saw him slowly come around and transform.
I hope this inspirational horse rescue story inspires other horse rescues. I continue working with Z with the hope that one day we can find him a forever home.

So good to see a trainer stroke a horse, not slap or pat them hard. Their hide is so sensitive, you only have to see the effect a tiny fly has on a horse's skin, so to see gentle stroking is such a bonus. Well done. Hope he finds the best home.

It is so sad that even nowadays some horses are mistreated but thank Godness there are people like you that make a differennce. I hope he finds a loving and caring owner

He learned to trust and love again. It just angers me that detached people own an animal just to be cruel. I don't understand this concept, So many like this horse end up to the meat markets where they should not go, all because of sick disturbing people. What you and his owner did for him is a miracle, and I am sure he's ever so grateful out of all those horses he got a chance to make turn around. Great job to you both. Enjoy him while you can. He'd make a little girl or boy a happy camper 😊

That poor animal...you can see the injuries on his rump are from a heavy whip hand, and who cuts off a horse's tail? I simply cannot fathom the inner demons people have, that drive them to harm innocent animals in this terrible way! I am so grateful to Betsy for having the courage to rescue him, and I just love how gentle you are. Surely, you cannot put all the hundreds of painstaking hours you took in rehabbing this sweet horse in a video, but I know it took you so much gentleness and patience to correct the years of abuse. Thank all the gods and goddesses for people like you! ❤️🥰🤗 I hope Z finds a really good home, with humans who get him, and treat him properly!

It is possible he lost his tail accidentally. There used to be a Standardbred that raced here in NZ who had lost their tail through an accident. Also, although I've never heard of Mare doing this...sometimes Ewes chew their lambs tails off accidentally after birth when they are cleaning the afterbirth off their babies..weird but it "does" happen. Just a thought, and best not to jump to conclusions without knowing all of the facts.

Wonderful job done for him. He looks like a fun ride. Who would cut off the tail like that? Horrifying! Plus, I suspect it was likely done in a brutal manner as well, seeing the way Z was behaving. That was his survival instinct coming out. Hope he finds that well-deserved home.

I aspire to have your attitude around horses. It's so cool how calm you are and how clearly you communicate and it's easy to see how horses would benefit from that and feel secure with you. So great to see Z make so much progress and I'd love to see more of him, especially on how you work with his anxiety! Also, props to Z's owners for rescuing him and getting him the proper help he needed and looking for a great home for him. He's a very lucky guy and I wish every horse could be treated with the same compassion :)
