Horse Rescue Transformation Story
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
This is a horse rescue transformation story I wanted to share about Z. He was on his way to slaughter before being rescued by Betsy, his current owner. He has come a long way and I am so proud of him ❤️
In this video, I start by giving a little bit of background about Z and how his horse rescue journey started. I then talk a little bit about his anxiety and aggression and his road to recovering physically. Like many horse rescues, Z's biggest issue was recovering mentally. He experienced an abusive past history, and building trust was a big challenge. Through patience and training, I saw him slowly come around and transform.
I hope this inspirational horse rescue story inspires other horse rescues. I continue working with Z with the hope that one day we can find him a forever home.

Hello Sharee, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I hope he spends the rest of his life in a forever home where they give him all the love and care that he deserves and when his time comes he doesn't end up at another slaughter house.
So good to see a trainer stroke a horse, not slap or pat them hard. Their hide is so sensitive, you only have to see the effect a tiny fly has on a horse's skin, so to see gentle stroking is such a bonus. Well done. Hope he finds the best home.

What a beautiful demeanour this wonderful horsewoman has.
Break's my heart.. I would've taken him in a heartbeat. May God bless and protect him, all the days of his precious life. 💔
What a beautiful story to share - it just goes to show how far kindness and patience can go with a horse that has been traumatised. It is so sad that even nowadays some horses are mistreated but thank Godness there are people like you that make a differennce. I hope he finds a loving and caring owner

This is heart breaking. How can any one treat an animal like this
Ms. Betsy should give the horse to you. He likes and trusts you. Wouldn't want to see his progress go backward. He belongs with you.
What a beautiful ending to his story I was overwhelmed with emotions watching this. Thank you to all who contributed to his rescue and transformation ❤❤❤
He’s absolutely flourishing. Love can move mountains.

Hello Shannon, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
A real illustration of both the worst and best of humans. Thank you for showing this horse how wonderful humans can be.
Blessed and beautiful story Animal owners too often want to discard under performing animals as trash and disregard they are living things
The true measure of a person's qualities can be found in how they treat animals and the less fortunate!!
Thats incredible, you are such a good lady, You did a great job training and treating him with respect, Its very sad,but its really motivational . Thank you for being there for the horse 💚👍😊
The things one horse has gone through. Mostly at the hands of humans. Heartbreaking. Thanks to everyone who got him here.
God bless you for taking the time to help him… so happy he came around.. his life was so sad,,
I have wanted to own a horse since I was about 7 when I first read the king of the wind by Henry, I can't understand how anyone could abuse a horse, especially his mouth! Omg, and an Andalusian at that, incomprehensible
What a blessing you are for this sweet soul. thank you for the work you do.
I hope that beautiful horse funds a forever home where people can treat him with kindness and respect please make sure that whoever adopt him will be a good people not an abuser and in the ending finish in a slaughterhouse. Thanks for rescue him and give love and understanding. Happy holidays.
It's nice to see good ppl who make time and have patience and care for horses like z
What a great story. He seems very strong and happy to learn new moves! Today I learned that horse's tails don't grow back. Poor boo.

Glad the horse is happy and healthy.
Amazing, Bless you. Bless all who helped this poorly animal. I hope he continues to improve, and he and all of you have the best life.
Wow you are a super horse woman! Your patience and expertise is wonderful. There’s a point where an anxious horse can become very dangerous, and you have succeeded in bringing this lovely horse’s trust back. I’d love to have the resources and time to give Z the home he deserves.
He learned to trust and love again. It just angers me that detached people own an animal just to be cruel. I don't understand this concept, So many like this horse end up to the meat markets where they should not go, all because of sick disturbing people. What you and his owner did for him is a miracle, and I am sure he's ever so grateful out of all those horses he got a chance to make turn around. Great job to you both. Enjoy him while you can. He'd make a little girl or boy a happy camper 😊
My wee brother just sadly killed himself on the 25th of this month and i don't know why but seeing this story about Z just made me feel better inside rest in peace paul and well done Z on your recovery 💚🥰

He looks so happy with you at the intro to this vid. Golly what that horse has been through 🥲
This video made me cry and smile together. What people do to horses is horrendous, as though they mean nothing and have no souls when the opposite is True. I would hope Z will stay with you. You seem to belong together emotionally and intellectually. He is a keeper!

A great story, a great rescue. Its so sad that those horses are throw away lives going for meat. He looks like a fine horse and hopefully he finds a forever home.
The poor creature was absolutely brutalised, its just so wonderful that he actually has come this far for you, truly wonderful and it shows what his real nature is. I hope he finds a really wonderful forever home where he is truly loved until the day he dies, he deserves that much true peace at last🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴

Loved how you worked with Z. You are compassionate and patient--two important attributes needed to handle and train any horse, but particularly one that has been neglected and abused. You can see the kindness and trust in Z's eyes when you are near him. Thank you for showing the world how important it is to be kind and patient. God bless you!

Few months ago there was a similar rescue close to where I live. White mare, so skinny with a fresh axe injury on her back. Sadly she didn't make it, but at least she spend her last days surrounded with good people who took care of her. I'm happy to see a similar story with a happy ending. Thank you!

Hello Aneta, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
That poor animal...you can see the injuries on his rump are from a heavy whip hand, and who cuts off a horse's tail? I simply cannot fathom the inner demons people have, that drive them to harm innocent animals in this terrible way! I am so grateful to Betsy for having the courage to rescue him, and I just love how gentle you are. Surely, you cannot put all the hundreds of painstaking hours you took in rehabbing this sweet horse in a video, but I know it took you so much gentleness and patience to correct the years of abuse. Thank all the gods and goddesses for people like you! ❤️🥰🤗 I hope Z finds a really good home, with humans who get him, and treat him properly!

It is possible he lost his tail accidentally. There used to be a Standardbred that raced here in NZ who had lost their tail through an accident. Also, although I've never heard of Mare doing this...sometimes Ewes chew their lambs tails off accidentally after birth when they are cleaning the afterbirth off their babies..weird but it "does" happen. Just a thought, and best not to jump to conclusions without knowing all of the facts.

Wonderful job done for him. He looks like a fun ride. Who would cut off the tail like that? Horrifying! Plus, I suspect it was likely done in a brutal manner as well, seeing the way Z was behaving. That was his survival instinct coming out. Hope he finds that well-deserved home.

I aspire to have your attitude around horses. It's so cool how calm you are and how clearly you communicate and it's easy to see how horses would benefit from that and feel secure with you. So great to see Z make so much progress and I'd love to see more of him, especially on how you work with his anxiety!
