I strive to paint realism, it's the only art I'm totally drawn to. You do it so phenomenally! Watching you during the horse looked as if it was paint by number with the varying shades... this is where I struggle the most. I never quite know where all the variations should be. I'm truly amazed, I hope you are too. Bravo!

God gifted talent, not everybody can have this kind of skill. I'm a bit touching when looking at the innocent face of that horse as if he is in real life. How & where is he now.....!?

It’s precise because he traced a picture and got all the outlines for it. This type of painting is not art but rather simply painting by number. I want to see something completely created from the mind, not looking at any picture and definitely not tracing. You already had a photograph of the horse, why paint it exactly like the photo? Seems very time consuming and stressful. The end product looks good but of course it does since you traced.

@@magicofoilwithbenlashley8807 then when you employ Bob Ross method painting each new painting is just a repeat of images from the Bob Ross universe that one will eventually be able to do in their sleep. The true challenge is to be faithful to your own vision, neither to photographs or techniques. These things are just scaffolding on the way to your own expression of mastery, but can easily become crutches if we lean on them for too long.

I don’t agree, it’s about freedom and creation. Bob Ross was one of the greats for sure. I can do this style, this style here is very easy, especially for me because I’m a tattoo artist and that’s what we do, we trace the art and then re create the exact image. It’s just boring. I absolutely love alla prima and you never recreate the same image, each one is different, but this painting here is painfully copied from a picture. It can be fun to see how exact you can get it, but the real fun is being able to create beautiful paintings without stressing or following an outline and still coming out with a beautiful image.

Beautiful. It’s as if a real horse was taken and placed into a world of wondrous painted environments, each carefully crafted by an endless amount of strokes from a brush. Fantastic work, as always.

घोड़े के सामने वाले पैरों के बीच अन्तर ज्यादा हो जाने से घोड़ा लँगड़ा दिख रहा है पीछे के पैरों में भी वही अन्तर होना चाहिये ।पीछे के पैर एक लेवल में हैं । झाड़ियाँबहुत खूबसूरत बनी हैं ।इसमें कोई शक नहीं ।बिलकुल असली दिखाई दे रही हैं ।आप बहुत ही काबिल कलाकार हैं ।त्रुटि सुधार हो जाता तो सीकरी ओरिजिनल हो जाती ।फिर कोई विश्वास नहीं करता कि हाथ की कला है ।सब ये कहते कैमरे की कला है ।बहरहाल आपके हाथों में जादू है ।

An amazing painting!!! I learn so much from watching your videos and listening to your teachings. Do you apply additional coats of gesso on the canvas before painting? Also, if possible, can you share how you get your initial drawing on the canvas? This seems to take me lots of time! Again, thanks for your great instructional videos!!!

Thanks Leigh! I do add additional layers with a joint knife. I made a video on that process once I believe. The initial drawing I do separately a lot of times and transfer it to the canvas after. Lol up how to add wildlife to a painting, I have a video where I share some of that process. But I'll continue to try and provide some more info on the future!

You and Andrew Tischler have helped me tremendously on learning how to look at the tones and shapes of a subject when painting instead of worrying about the whole...I have successfully been able to paint things like a person, an elephant, the Mandalorian(metal), by looking at it as little pieces of the whole...seeing the development of a painting has been instrumental.
