The first story kinda amused me because I had a somewhat similar situation in a game, where my character was a princess with a Retainer who was built as a potential love interest. Difference being, that DID work out; they actually confessed last session and officially became a couple, partially at the DM's initiative rather than mine. You know how that was accomplished? I took my time to let the relationship grow, played the character with other traits, and most importantly had her treat her Retainer respectfully and like a living being - which played a big part in him growing attached to her. Crazy, right?

I feel like some people are going to have a strong opinion on the first story so I want to try, probably in vain, to explain some things. NSFW, 18+, ERP friendly, Adult content, these things do not mean "no limits fuckfest where sexual harassment, more hardcore kinks and abuse are welcome". It just means some adult themes are can occur and what the limits of that are is decided by the dm. It does not mean you can live out rape fantasies or in this case, slave/master power play where Knight gets to abuse his authority to just have his way with any woman of his choice. The Dm in this story made it pretty clear what the limit was, you can flirt, romance and work towards intimacy and boning in a somewhat believable way, where consent exists as a requirement. The Dm explained this to him and the guy argued and didn't accept it, he was awarded 3 more chances after that to stop the attempted power abuse fetish and he didn't. If anyone thinks he was wronged in someway, I'll gladly like to know how. See if you can leave out any bs about how DM wasn't actually clear or about people are somehow wimps for not being a captive audience to your rape fantasies.

The knight's player was just acting out of a sense of entitlement. The reason the dwarf got a "hot catgirl waifu" was because the dwarf was respectful and didn't demand the outcome. Respect and consent are everything when you want to get an S.O.

Yeah, we don't know the full picture of the difference with how the players behaved. But my best educated guess is that Dwarf player had discussed the boundaries and consent of his NPC romance with DM in advance (as you always should). Horny incel player was straight up trying to spring his harem sex slave fantasies on the table without any warning, care or concern how anyone would feel about it.

​@@Thommy2n Dwarf didn't romance an NPC. The relationship that got knight whining more was between the dwarf cleric and tabaxi rogue, both player characters.

I was in a campaign where a girl orc kidnapped a guy. We all screamed in panic until we passed out crying. True story.

at 5:37 the first thing that popped in to my head was "You're not there, you're at the tavern!" "Are there any girls there?"

3rd story i wouldn't be shocked if the DM said "Dare ye enter my MAGICAL REALM?"

I'd say just bring it up and see where it goes in the gf favoritism story. D&d is a group game where players, ALL players, need to cooperate and share ideas and actions. If 1 player is given obvious favoritism over the others, then you're just not gonna have a game.

Girlfriend just wasn't interested in RPGs, simple as that. They honestly should quit the session and make a new one without the couple, seeing the DM can'tbe objective.

2nd story: Dm is dating a player… oh hell naw. I’m married and have my wife in my games. I’ve made it clear to her that I will not give her unique favors. She has complained to me a few times, and I didn’t budge. To be honest, no DM should have their SO in their games unless they are married, or have made a promise to not engage in favoritism.

They probably undervalue those endangered relationships, think "it's just a game" means no consequences, or feel their just trying to have fun. And I think the 1st story said nobody knew each other before the game.

The 4th story... just... wow... The sack on that guy. But in all seriousness, he should understand that side quests in games are wildly essential to progressing the overall story and helping players to level up. It's not all about the main storyline. Sometimes the best treasures are found when doing the most mundane quests. Plus, I'm almost certain he didn't HAVE to be there. His boredom is on him and he should have left early on if he wasn't having fun. No one would have cared that much.

Amen to that! My party had a random encounter with a Mummy Lord where they played nice, and actually tricked him into giving them major information by having him draw on their maps, Revealing an undiscovered landmass. They eventually did ambush him and one shot him by blowing up some powder kegs. That encounter was so much fun for the party. They even got some Egyptian themed magic items like a homebrewed Khopesh of Courage.

Banning dating and dragons should be immediate and remorseless.

Ok, 1st story was funny af and the dm was spot on kicking him quickly when it was obvious knight wasn't gonna change, 2nd story, it's sad but it might be best for thay group to split before friendship sours, no dnd n friends is better than no dnd and a broken friend group, 3rd story, just the title was yeah, DM's shouldn't bring their fetish into the story -.-

Second story: I recommend one of two changes. 1: Stop playing dnd as a group to save friendship. 2: Have someone else DM.

I think I see what went wrong. Knight somehow thought "Retainers" meant "Isekai Harem".

I got a cat hammock for the cat my folks have as a Christmas present; maybe Doge's cats would like something like that as a gift at some point.

I have played a character who became more sexually active as the game went on and I handled it by just saying he's having sex offscreen instead of demanding the DM allow me to create a sex slave NPC for me. I eventually had a romance with an NPC who started off as a villain to our party.

Yet again, if the DMs SO is among the players, it all too often leads to bad things for the table. As for advice, let the 5 ladies talk it out like adults, and if worse comes to worse, forget D&D and salvage what can be of the friendship.

My advice top the second group: as a group, tell the DM that you're not enjoying the game and would rather do something else as a group. Then do something else.

The knight from the 1st story is a very common phenomenon. I sometimes play female characters and I have been told I play them very well due to how realistic I make them. Those reactions to his actions are right out of my own playbook. I can pretty much guarantee you that he's the type to talk to women like that for real. Very few seem to know how to approach people first and get stuff blooming before things get spicy.

Second story, my advice would be to ask the dungeon master to work on including everyone in what's going on. Right now it sounds like there are two campaigns going on, a secret one with just the DM and her girlfriend, and one with the DM and the rest of you. Also, no way should one person be dividing up the loot, in or out of character. If someone tries, their character wakes up in the morning tied to a tree with none of their belongings. The lesson here is, if you start treating other characters like underlings, eventually they're going to rise up and overthrow you. 😄 Make a point of saying that it's not personal, if someone else at the table had behaved like this you would have done the exact same thing. You weren't going to leave her character tied to the tree and walk off, you just wanted to have a little chat and remind her that you're a team, so let's act like one.

No, just quit the group and make a new group without the couple. They can't both be in the game, and if one is in the other, the other will be mad.

12:45 - 16:38 - The sad thing is that there's an inkling of a good story here. Parts of this remind me of dark fantasy classics like Dark Souls or Berserk, other parts seemed almost G.R.R. Martin-esque. It's just that the GM's horniness got in the way of actually turning this into a good story, but I would say the GM probably has some talent for dark fantasy writing.

Did anyone think of telling knight that he should try saying something women might actually respond to with something other than a restraining order?

DM's Girlfriend Story. In a relationship this is an easy trap to fall in. The other players should bring it up as the DM may not even realize they are doing it. And if after that the other players find out the DM does realize it and doesn't care about the other players, those other players should find a different DM.

Yep, I'm going with the LATTER happening since she STRAIGHT UP admitted she didn't look at their backstories after TELLING them to make it! She clearly can care less if the friendship dies out because of her actions and just thinks they'll tolerate for the sake of friendship (which they sadly are doing) so she needs a reality check that "this is NOT how you treat your friends" and I don't see DM and GF working out, she (GF) comes off as a spoiled entitled brat and if she is one of the friends. Something tells me their WERE red flags to her behavior, but their seeing it now since she's letting it all out (Sort of like how you think someone is prim and proper 24/7, then you get to their house and personal life and it's a pigsty with them being a SLOB that you're AMAZED their dress clothes are always so clean, prim and proper LOL.....I've had MANY EX friends who were POS in disguise in my youth, but because I was sheltered and lived in a well to do area during my kindergarten days before moving to NYC during 3rd grade, it was WHIPLASH for me starting from encountering my first bully....and dude who despite being a FAILURE who CELEBRATED his F's ALWAYS seem to find himself in the next grade alongside me....and the same FUCKING SCHOOLS as he was in Middle AND High School with me! His cousin was my first friend in the area....and the first of EX friends when I found out in Middle school he only hanged with me because we moved into the area at the same time and I was my friendly self, he started hanging with his cousin's friends who were ALSO bullies to me and our friendship ended when in Middle School, he got caught by my mother who worked for UPS at the time and took deliveries to the school so she could "check up on me" basically she made money AND she could "see me" during school to see how I'm doing LOL, she caught him in the stairs skipping class with some of the Bullies, they wanted him to lead me into an ambush because I got REAL good at evading them! I'll give them some credit, they taught me the HARD WAY how to BEST avoid people who wish me ILL and how to subvert them! And he was all for it to get closer with them! She recognized his voice as she DOES know him since he's been coming over to my house since we met back in 3rd Grade and she went OFF on all of them, even told him to stay away from me! We were drifting apart anyway and well in HS I asked him out of curiosity when we cross paths as he was a little hostile! He admitted everything and told me and My mother confirmed it, Kept it a secret for my sake, I wasn't mad at her, just disappointed in him cause I thought I knew his character! But I noted the red flags back in grade school, just never knew they WERE red flags because "Sheltered" so I just got older and wiser from then on to better see and deal with them accordingly) If this is just them showing their bad side without realizing it, then okay then, maybe they need to work on not being DOUCHEBAGS. But if their doing it and expecting OP and Company to "Deal with it" then they can fuck right off and enjoy each others company (till GF starts being a BITCH to DM now that she's the only target for her displeasure! Then we'll see how long DM is okay with that and the fact she lost dear friends over this though she had her hand in that as well!)

You know a dm is bad when there is 2 diffrent storys writen about them. I swear i heard some one read a diffrent post about the dommy mommy.

Story #1 - The Knight starting with *3* female attendants? Not a Red Flag, but certainly a warning bell for me. It was far worse than I imagined. For this guy, I'd suggest 'Gor' fanfic and blow-up dolls as being much more suited to his playstyle. Glad it has worked out for the others. Story #2 - Totally Not Good. Trust me when I say these kinds of situations NEVER get better on their own. The only thing for it is to bite the bullet and have a serious sitdown and talk with the DM about this ASAP, try to reach an understanding, and be ready for it all to go badly - which I think highly likely. But, other than simply quitting, there's no other choice, really. If it does blow up, which is highly probable, the best to hope for is that people will calm down afterwards, take on board what happened and why, and then be able to start mending bridges, etc.. Story #3 - Yeah, unless completely into this kind of thing, then walking is the only real option. Story #4 - Yet another stance of WHY did the Players put up with this oxygen-thief for so long? He could have simply walked, so I really don't why he seemed to work so hard at getting kicked instead of simply walking. Good, once again, that it worked out for the rest of the group.

Spoiled and entitled brat with a dose of MCS (Main character syndrome) and heavy favoritism. Story 3: That title: oof. Oooohhh, this story. (shudder). Story 4: I hate the a-hole. As a fellow DM, I love side quests as they do flesh out the world. Love it when the party rallied around DM and as a reward; the unexpected twin was named after OP's character. My players would love that so much if I were to do something like that. Good group minus a-hole.
