Good morning Oscar, it's Martin from Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Thank you again for a lovely running session. The locomotives and coaches all look amazing running round your wonderful layout. It's always always a pleasure to see your passenger and goods trains running. For someone of my age ( 68), seeing the goods wagons always remind me of my years working on our railways and seeing the actual wagons in real life. I always think that when I started work on BR ( 1970) that I caught the latter Years of the old British Railways. When I started work on BR even my uniform was based on the typical 1950s / 1960s station uniform of trousers, waistcoat, jacket, shirts, tie and peak cap with the BR totem badge with a split pin on the back so as to fasten it onto your cap. The man in the uniform stores department ( Cyril) even gave me a new steam locomotive drivers peak cap, the type that has a shiny top to it. His stores room was an Aladins cave of railway items. Talk about being in the right place at the right time, amazing. Oh yes, and my BR totem cap badge is BR orange as I live in the East Riding of BR. Well it's time to have my tea and toasted tea cake. Keep safe 0scar and have a good week and I'll see you next Sunday. 👍🛤️🚂🚃

Good afternoon Martin, glad you enjoyed seeing these locomotives in action on the railway. Cyil's storeroom sounds like magical place to visit. I'm not sure there are many places left like that these days. Take care. Oscar

@@oscarpaisley Hello Oscar, it's good to talk to you on Saturday 6th April at approx 16.55 pm. I have just got back from Asda for a bit of shopping. I thought i had got everything I wanted then I realised I had forgotten to get my tea cakes so I will have to make do with ordinary toast in the morning. Well I'll speak to you soon and I am looking forward to your video in the morning. Keep safe Oscar. 👍🚂

Things "going horribly wrong" is all part of the fun of playing trains... I went to the York Easter Model Railway Show yeaserday, had a nice time, lots of wonderful layouts and trade stands (30th March 2024) . As usual with a big event like that one you never seem to manage to see everything. Bit of an expensive day out, and that's before you find anything to buy!. I did come home with a O gauge laser cut building kit,! There was lots and lots of other tempting items, but we all have to be careful with our money. As usual another great video from you, I always look forward to seeing them!

100% with you there, the odd derailment, poorly planned point work, badly set isolating sections all part it. Great to hear you had an enjoyable day out at the railway show. Take care. Oscar

Morning Oscar, what a lovely running session that was, you got some fantastic shots liked the close up of trains running under the raised section (you must have nearly double yourself up to climb into that position)😅😅😅 seriously nice views of trains running passed. They looked like really powerful engines I loved the difference in sound as they thundered passed. The Railway is looking great today, it must be a joy to run, my idea of heaven just watching trains run. Happy Easter Oscar, Eddy xxx

An excellent video or these two bulleid locomotives running this morning Oscar, I would say you are very lucky to have the Dorchester Model because I have always seen that going for very high prices online, plus I have only ever seen 3 rail versions being sold and no converted to 2 rail versions that some people do to other hornby Dublo models, a great running session this morning Oscar, they both looked fantastic going round the layout, keep up the great work.

Morning Oscar Another great video of Southern Region Bulleid ‘West Country’ Pacifics. These beautiful Hornby models are probably my favourite from the Dublo stable and rank alongside the superb ‘Castle’ class locomotives. They don’t just look good, they sound tremendous when running on 3 rail track pulling a long rake of tin plate coaches! The weight of these locomotives takes you by surprise the first time you pick one up and remove it from the box. An added bonus of these locomotives is the wonderful smell! So they don’t just look good, feel good but they smell good too, something for all the senses!! 😂 I always thought it strange that Hornby Dublo didn’t produce the streamline ‘Spam Can’ version of this locomotive, which Wrenn eventually produced in two rail, of which I have a 3 rail conversion 😉 I could never understand why Hornby Dublo didn’t produce the named locomotives with a greater variety of names and numbers, this would have increased their sales considerably and given them the much needed capital…🤔

Afternoon David, glad you enjoyed the video footage, sounds like you have some lovely items in your collection especially the streamlined conversion, sadly my Wrenn collection extends one tank locomotive at present, some lovely rent items at the TCS show in Leicester, a couple of weeks back. Tri-ang didn't produce many named/numbered variations of their models in the early days, it wasn't until the early 70s that they got around to providing alternative names and numbers in the box for the user to change. I wonder if they thought that nobody would ever buy two of the same model just because it had a different name and number... All the best. Oscar

Fabulous new low level shots there Oscar. The 3 rail West Country is high on my wish list for the railway. Although here in Australia, they seem to go for eye watering money nowadays. I shall keep hunting as I only need a co co and the west country to complete the collection. Seems that vintage Dublo and Triang is having a bit of a resurgence in popularity.

Hi, thanks again for looking in. Great to hear you enjoyed the video. They're a beautiful item the three Rail West Country locomotives, the sound of feel of them on under way on the controller is quite different to that of the two Rail variant, the prices here in the UK for thees items are fairly impressive.. But when compared to the price of a contemporary model locomotive, probably quite good value for money. All the best. Oscar

We enjoyed the short running session to start with... There are a lot of similarities sometimes, but a Hornby Chassis is quite different to the usual Tri-ang one, isn't it? Delightful passenger coach running session today... Most enjoyable, but a bit shorter than usual.. Happy Easter.. I'm surprised that you did not run a freight trainload of Easter eggs today? The railways have let the Easter bunny down.. Then again, a few weeks ago, when these trains were filmed, Easter was still some distance away in the future, wasn't it? My grandson loves seeing all of the green coaches.. (his favourite colour).. What is his favourite loco? Why, the green R 59 of course?

Good afternoon Robin, glad you enjoyed the run at the beginning, a sequence like that takes a great deal of time to put together, I think at that time, possibly back in early February I wasn't even thinking about Easter. I did manage to remember late last year that Christmas was coming up and mentioned it was Christmas in a video, We'll see what happens in the future.. The R.59 and a few green coaches makes a lovely train, very good choice by your grandson, Black R59 with MK2 couplings and large BR symbol on the side, one of my favourites as it was the locomotive in the R3D set that was passed on to my brother and myself back in mid 70s, lovely looking items and they sound terrific. All the best. Oscar

nice vid, knowing what you know now if you were a little boy in the 60's would you have chosen tri ang or a hornby railway system and why. with your layout you can run hornby dublo only and lastly do you have any 2 rail hornby dublo track. thanks

Hi, very difficult question, probably Tri-ang as it had such a beautiful range of items available in the late 50s and early 60s, don't really have any Hornby Dublo 2 rail track, just the odd bits and pieces that have been included with other things over the years. Oscar

Good morning Phil, it's great to see what you developing on your channel. The series 3 points really are the weak point, especially at the age they are now. I've included a links below which shows where I've added additional pieces sprung contact(phosphor bronze plant labels) to improve the continuity within the points, I've also soldered almost all of the fish plates to the rails. I've been putting a cut across the back of the point and into the fish plate and soldering in neatly and finishing off with the file. hope it makes sense. All the best. Hi, if you search on that well-known auction site for "Copper Plant Labels" there should be plenty of buying options. I've got a pack of 20 from Wilkinson sometime ago but they're sadly closed down. I've been referring to these as phosphor bronze but they may well turn out to be copper! It works very well for all sorts of contacts & pick ups, they are exceptionally thin and easy to cut with a straight edge and Stanley knife or Sharp scissors and solder sticks to it really nicely. All the best. Oscar
