Hopsin talks 300 Deal, Keys to Success, Token, Funk Volume, Says You Can't Just Rap
Музыка
Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili sits down with Hopsin at his house for an in depth interview. Part 2 starts with Hopsin talking about signing to 300 Entertainment for distribution deal, why he chose to go that route and why he still thinks a young artists should not sign to major label until they learn the industry. He points to what Token has done to build his brand all from his own house. Hop not only shares advice to upcoming artist but also shares stories of his early days being stuck on Ruthless Records and eventually starting Funk Volume. Hopsin ends part 2 by telling artists that they can't just rap! You have to treat your career like going to school and learn the ins and outs of the industry or you are not going to make it. He also tells stories of how he had to learn about cameras, lights and editing so he could make his own videos, which helped him build his career. We are just getting started! Nick and Hop talked for over 3 hours. Make sure to subscribe to / hardknocktv to be the first to be notified for the next part of Hopsin and Nick's conversation.

Hopsin has really upgraded his whole mentality about music and life. He's not "that negative" rapper anymore and realized what he's really capable - if he just focuses on the music. Inspirational.. Salute to this man, can't wait for his album.

This interview alone embodies the reasons why i love hopsin. I recently put him in my personal top 5 all-time. He writes his own raps, produces his own beats, directs his own videos, has his own label, generates his own buzz. Gotta love this guy, and if you don't ; at least respect him.

I said this before already and I'll say it again, the transitions this man has made, and the things that have changed him, he only focus 's on learning from mistake/success, the smartest man in the rap game, now watch him take over it, he's never too cocky never too shy, his rap game ain't goals, his mentality is!
One of the realest interviews I've seen in a long ass time!

I think we take people like Hopsin for granted. Hes giving us so much valuable information out of experience, yet it just passes by. I know Hopsin would only wish he had someone like himself when he was coming up.

He also likes to give people advice on things he's completely ignorant on. That's why alot of people dislike him and that's why there's so many articles and videos about him titled things like "Why hip hop hates Hopsin" etc.

this is the best hopsin interview imo, mans giving real advice to up and coming artists
This is one of them interviews that sparks something in you and sheds a light on your past failures, showing them as just hurdles in life in order for you to sustain success eventually. It’s meant to be hard at first , just like when you first learn how to drive or do anything until you get past that rough patch and eventually it becomes second nature. We tend to look at successful people and see the glitz and glamour but don’t realise these people work so hard behind the scenes and the fruits of their labour is only a small percentage of the grind, stay hungry and always stay moving because you don’t know what future small opportunities or contact that could lead to something bigger or align you with the right people!!! Very inspiring video !! Can’t wait for the album !! Hopsin is underrated AF

bro you just inspired me to keep pushing and figure this shit out. I'm going to Create my own lane through the internet within a couple years. Mark my words. I have way too much to say. too many people need to hear my message. plus my skill is dope. I just need to reanalyze why I haven't made It yet. Give myself a brand and start marketing myself. I feel what youre saying on not accepting being 50 years old and never had made it happen as a rapper... I refuse to give up until I make this shit happen.

It's so fucking true. You can't just rap, those days are gone. I used to hit up studios when I was 12 to get my demos sounding good but quickly hated having someone else mix my shit and making it sound good in their ears, not mine. I bought karaoke mics, rapped on cassettes and then moved over to recording on a PC when I was 15 in 2005. Since then I've had to be the one mixing, mastering, video editing, directing, designing graphics, promoting, etc.... he's right, YOU CAN'T JUST RAP.

This shit was so fucking inspirational for me . I've been in songwriting for 6 years now ,rapping for 4 years but now I'm thinking about starting to upload shit etc . I feel ready . I'm 18 but I don't know much shit about editing . I only know how to copy cut and paste shit to form a video . I don't know how to make a beat and I can barely do any mixing . Knowing that someone who is a master in all these things was just like me when he was starting is a huge confidence boost .
