You need to remove the cassette and fix the green seal into place, hope do have a tool to make it easier but you can do without, plastic tyre levers are good for this,no metal sharp edges. I’d pop a bit of wet chain lube in the ratchet ring to keep it sweet also I’ve used the dt grease on the pawl and spring seats to keep them moving. Still working as should? Atb John 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It has never been serviced, with no grease, no cleaning. Water got inside and corroded all parts. I service my DT Swiss freewheel every second month! It takes few minutes same some special light grease.

Well it could happen if you do a lot of pressure washing .. I would recommend to take off cassette and double check on green seal maybe it was off some point .. Really shocked to see so rusty inside they are on market maybe 6 months only

Aluminium rusts too, just bit lower pace than steel. Stainless steel is best at resisting outdoors.

the way you pressed the freehub on, already attached to the cassette- you have no way to push the green seal into place. it needs to seal up against the hub body. it is a simple push into place but with the cassette attached you cant push on it.

I didn’t have a chain whip at the time, I’ll place the seal on tomorrow as I’m borrowing one off a friend. Appreciate you though, Thanks for the heads up 🙌🙌

Have someone tried to use Dubble Springs in the Pro5 for Sound upgrade? Because it’s seems to be a terrible Idear to remove the grease on this Model 😂

Doublespring doesnt work due to the new design of the Pro5 springs. (You wont get the pawls in with two springs) I went with the Trial-Spring-Kit (HUB561) - gets a good amount louder, easy to install and not to expensive.

I think you need to get some grease on the free hub paws. I had a similar issue with a vel hub that has actually rusted onto the spindle. There was no grease in there at all. Also didn’t have a serviceable hub so I ended up having to by a new freehub for it.

Cheer, Just do not understand how its washed the old grease out though? Absolutely melted my head trying to figure it out. I am sure the seal has popped out and then water got inside.. Back to normal now anyway!

@@StevenHandDH in my case it wasn’t helped by being in a humid environment when it had been wet. Maybe the back of your van and the temperature of the vehicle could have done it.

I had a issue at bike park wales, The cassette started to get loose and the cogs moved separately. When I got a new bike i left this wheel in the back of the van. I think the guy that fixed the bike never put the seal back in correctly. So water got in when i hosed it down. The rest is history
