Me too. My 15th. Planned things 2 weeks in advance(the kickass awesome super intense specially prepared homemade meal details with particular focus on deserts & treats, and what would have been really fun memorable activities), with final reminders the day or 2 before, everyone no called o showed cept for one person, my best friend, whom was prevented by situational circumstances that were both outside of his control & unavoidable. After a few hours of no one showing up, and unable to even catch anyone on the phone(the days of landlines), my mom and I pointedly decided well, fuck it, their loss, so fuck em, and we loaded up as much of the food and etc as we could for travel, and showed up unexpectedly at where my best friend was stranded out at with his problematic pos car that was also outta gas & outta cash, and shared in the meal with the only one that would have shown up if he'd've had the ability to. If people don't want to come enjoy having a great time, well, then fuck em, we gonna go ahead and have one without em!

At that age, it's not the friends that get the invitations. it's the parents. They dont want their children to be hyper and break schedules. Therefore, they stay home, thinking other children will be there. But this is absolutely wholesome. And remember, if you're a parent that gets a birthday party invitation, take your kid, it literally changes a persons whole childhood by showing up for a day. They are humans too!!

Oh please, if NO ONE showed up, you know somethings wrong. And taking a day off for a party you rsvp to, isn’t going to change a kids entire schedule. If anything the children would love it. Especially to a little kids birthday party.

This happened to my son for his 4th birthday. Thankfully we were at an indoor play park and he is super social, so he just went and played with all the kids already there. I made sure the parents knew they could drop their kids off at our house for his 5th birthday so they would be more likely to actually attend. Every child invited showed up and my son had a blast. It’s the parents that fail these kids because they can’t be bothered to set aside a few hours in their day, it’s not the kids who don’t want to go (usually)

I’d be asking why not one single child turned up? Not one! My son’s birthday is in July and many of his friends were away on their holidays. But he always had a good turn out. Maybe it’s because his friends actually liked him.

well u cant really expect people to feel bad for you or care and then just dismiss them like youre too good for them lol like wtf? "nobody cares.." "i care!" "pfffft good for you 🙄🙄" like okay that's why nobody cared. cos you seem to treat people around you poorly, but then expect some kind of victimhood or empathy. u want ppl to care u have to give a crap too, lol. u probably hurt that person with your rude, intentionally hurtful response, you wanted to make them feel bad and you responded with the intention of hurting them and making them feel stupid. and for what? for showing the empathy you just whined about never having?? you wanna make others feel bad on purpose, but have others also feel bad for you? really? get off it.

Honestly i can't even imagine how that feels bc I'm 16 and have never celebrated a holiday, i have never celebrated others birthdays or even my own birthday. I don't even know what people do on the holidays, when the holidays are, what do people do on birthdays, i just can't imagine ppl not coming to a kids bday party, bc I've never gotten to celebrate my own. But honestly it's okay, we save a lot of money especially not celebrating holidays probably saves a lot. I still make things and get gifts for friends and family on their bday though bc i do think it is important that at least 1 person is there for you on your bday. I think we should be grateful that even one person is there for us on our birthday. Or that we lived another year, even being there for yourself when no one else is, is amazing.

If those good people didn't show up it would change the kid for life. I didn't get invited to birthday parties nor have any ever. I had no true friends until adulthood, which is right now at 18. You look at people a lot differently and yourself a lot differently. Glad she doesn't have to go through a bad memory every time it is her birthday.
