Nice information ,but needs to know more about the bevel

Good day Sir Tod. As your busy schedule permits, would you please share the approximate angle that you set your platform to, so I can use this as a starting place for the occasional sharpening of the outside of the tool I acquired from you a few years ago. Thanks in advance for your time, BC

Thanks for watching and the comment. Measuring the bevel angle of the Hook Tool it is about 60 degrees. Essentially I move the platform to accommodate the angle needed. Here is a link to a short video where I show the sharpening of the hook tool. kzread.info/dash/bejne/iH2AusyYXbXKm7A.html

Roy, the bevel on the Hook Tool is about 40 degrees. I just match the platform angle to the tool in most cases.
