Grizzly (Xzibit) and Stork (Anthony Anderson) are critter cops who are investigating a disturbance of the peace at between Granny (Glenn Close), her granddaughter Little Red Riding Hood (Anne Hathaway), a Big Bad Wolf (Patrick Warburton) and a Woodsman (James Belushi). As the duo interviews the parties involved they suspect Granny is not as helpless as she lets on, Red has hidden motives, Wolf is not much of a predator and the Woodsman might be as dense as the tress he cuts down.

    The people animating the movie were literally learning the program as they were in production. So, as a first project from them, it honestly doesn't look that bad.

    It was their first time doing any 3D animations at all. And considering that a lot of movies tend to have way bigger budgets, 8 million and a complete lack of 3D animation experience becoming the movie that it is is crazy.

    The reason behind the movie budget being 8.000.000 is that it was re-voiced over. Original animation company had close to none extra money, then the movie was bought (by that bold Minions guy, I believe) and voiced by more expensive live action actors.

  • @Sassaparilla

    @Sassaparilla

    15 күн бұрын

    No. The movie was privately financed by Maurice Kanbar. Very late in its production, it was taken up by the Weinstein Brothers for the handling of distribution, and there was some recasting at the end due to this, but most of the costs went to the Animation, which even though the price had dropped by the time it was produced, was still very expensive. Even though there were multiple high profile VAs in the original dubbing, they were not being paid a lot, they were paid scale. P Warburton, according to his own statements, only made around 20K due to the Weinsteins taking over distribution and Harvey screwing over multiple actors in the process. P Warburton was actually the first big voice to join the cast, but he was followed in the original casting by names such as David Ogden Stiers and Tom Kenny (who while no longer voicing Woolworth, Wolf W Wolf's informant, Kenny still voiced one of the cop side characters).

    YES HOODWINKED!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Oh yeah quick Fun Fact: The reason why the movie’s animation looks like this That’s because the movie’s animation was mainly done in the Philippines due to the movie having a very low budget

  • @jamesalexander5559

    @jamesalexander5559

    26 күн бұрын

    That's why the movie has such a low budget. The producers and directors asked themselves if an animated movie could be made on such a low budget. So they had animators in the Philippines and India work on and edit it.

  • @Sassaparilla

    @Sassaparilla

    15 күн бұрын

    @@jamesalexander5559 They didn't try to challenge themselves like you're suggesting lmao. This movie was made with no distributor, no major studio, and VERY EARLY in the computer animated film. They only had 8M to work with, which is a PITTANCE even back in the early 2000s, as Shrek which came out before this by over a year had a budget of 150M. The film was financed by Maurice Kanbar ALONE. The only reason this was ever possible was because of the sudden dip in cost for Computer animation.

    People underrate good writing. I mean, the visuals of a book are literally non existent, but if the story is fire than that doesn't matter in the slightest. It's the same as how I feel about video game graphics. Who cares what a game looks like, so long as it's fun?

Thats fking insane to think about, and especially since its the studio's first movie and we're actively learning how to animate as they went along.
