Grizzly (Xzibit) and Stork (Anthony Anderson) are critter cops who are investigating a disturbance of the peace at between Granny (Glenn Close), her granddaughter Little Red Riding Hood (Anne Hathaway), a Big Bad Wolf (Patrick Warburton) and a Woodsman (James Belushi). As the duo interviews the parties involved they suspect Granny is not as helpless as she lets on, Red has hidden motives, Wolf is not much of a predator and the Woodsman might be as dense as the tress he cuts down.

That overly prepared goat song is a staple of my brain chemistry.
One time on a 4 hour car trip (and on the way back, totaling 8 hours) I had nothing to do but watch this movie on repeat. You'd think I would despise it after all that, but no. I still absolutely love it. Sure, it drove me insane and I practically memorized the entire movie, but this was my Shrek.
The reason behind the movie budget being 8.000.000 is that it was re-voiced over. Original animation company had close to none extra money, then the movie was bought (by that bold Minions guy, I believe) and voiced by more expensive live action actors.
@Sassaparilla
15 күн бұрын
No. The movie was privately financed by Maurice Kanbar. Very late in its production, it was taken up by the Weinstein Brothers for the handling of distribution, and there was some recasting at the end due to this, but most of the costs went to the Animation, which even though the price had dropped by the time it was produced, was still very expensive. Even though there were multiple high profile VAs in the original dubbing, they were not being paid a lot, they were paid scale. P Warburton, according to his own statements, only made around 20K due to the Weinsteins taking over distribution and Harvey screwing over multiple actors in the process. P Warburton was actually the first big voice to join the cast, but he was followed in the original casting by names such as David Ogden Stiers and Tom Kenny (who while no longer voicing Woolworth, Wolf W Wolf's informant, Kenny still voiced one of the cop side characters).
It took me a long time to figure out, but the reason the woodsman is even here is because he's here to represent the character in Red Riding Hood who saves Red and her Grandma by cutting open the wolf. He's not in every version, so I didn't catch on at first.
