@@syppy7416 Larry (the director of the movie) just wanted an excuse to use mocap instead of traditional 3D animation. Only 7.5 minutes of the “original movie” was done before they switched to mocap.

I heard a theory the whole movie is just a money laundering operation. That's probably the case.

It kind of feels like the actor playing the bat character just ad-libbed his dialogue like Robin Williams in _Aladdin_ . But he didn't have anyone else to record with and they were too lazy to record or animate the other actors/characters reacting to his dialogue afterwards. So instead of being funny, he just rambles on for no reason with nobody else saying or doing anything.

The director basically wanted "Ready player one:Grocery edition" and was aiming to make versions for arcade games, sports mascots and newspaper comics, but didn't get any bites, so just strung it along to try and fish for more investors.

There is a TON of misinformation about Foodfight and if anyone wants to know the actual story, ROTTEN: Behind the Foodfight by Ok So... created a doc on youtube a month ago actually interviewing people who worked there and delving into production history. No, stuff was never stolen, no this didn't cost 65 million dollars. The actual story is far stranger and a tale about an insane Director.

The product placement backfired

Most likely the only reason this movie came out at all given the horrible hell it's development was, is because all the product placement meant that there were probably some financial penalties due to breach of contract if they didn't release the film.

8:15 Mr Clean's CGI actually looks worse than it does in the commercials. I actually have a newfound appreciation for the CGI in the Mr Clean commercials.

Apparently this was supposed to come out in 2002 but there were a bunch of problems including somebody stealing the footage so it eventually came out in 2012 completely changed I get issues can affect a movie and make it even not as good but did it have to be THIS not good??

As it's recently come to light, the footage never was stolen. Larry Kasanoff made up the story because he didn't want to tell investors that the movie couldn't make any of the deadlines. None of the earlier footage was actually solidified for the movie but basically test animation to get people to give it money.

I feel like most of the $65M was sent to the following outlets: -Getting the rights to use all these mascots -Getting the big-name actors to star in it -Recouping the losses from the thievery of the finalized assets Also side note: from what I’ve heard, the thief stole the finalized assets of the movie, and that’s why it looks so ugly. Reviewing test footage you can find on this site, this movie would’ve been a half-decent kids’ movie if the burglary never happened. Tech was limited at the time, but it still looked lively; the movie we got all had placeholder assets that were never supposed to see the light of day.

The bag of chips got me dying 😂

There are three things about this movie development-wise that explain why it sucks so bad. 1. An early release of this movie was stolen, causing all progress to be destroyed. 2. The director refused to do storyboards, and even the earlier version of the film had its story progress as it was animated. 3. The second version (the final release) was mo-capped because it was cheaper than manually re-animating the whole film.

That's the second time I've seen someone compare this kovie to second life.
