They won't understand the references, but the story that was shown in the teaser itself should be understandable, since it's told in a way that doesn't involve hi3rd worldbuilding. Sorry for my inability to properly explain things, it's better to watch the trailer from the catwithbluehat channel, almost everything is explained quite clearly there.

Mei in this case was equivalent to Elysia imo as Elysia gave 'life' or 'hope' to the next Era and her sword of Origin, that broke, created 'life' and transcended/transformed into the sword 'naught' and made most likely made her an emanator when she went against Nihility. Kiana went against and overcame Finality and harnessed its powers, this Mei did the same in this world but with Nihility. There is also a chance each world or variation of the cast/world on the tree are overseen by a specific aeon and that affects their worlds outcome or what path they must overcome/affects their worlds fate. It was apparent that their world was 'fated' to fall into the black hole, whereas 'Finality' is vague and obviously has some ties to fate or testing as it resets every 50,000 years or so iirc. Its possible that Mei is always fated to be 'origin' in some way when the world will overcome 'the honkai' and she will go against 'The End', which is likely an equivalent to Kevin as Archeon stated she 'clashed swords' with a male that the male MC reminded her of and in the Hi3 the cast had to go against Kevin at the end. it could mean both kevin and kiana were canidates for the herrscher of Finality's emenator. There was lore that one of Archeons one friend went too close to the black hole or something and fell into it and the girl was able to resist the black whole while travelling into it, this sounds a lot like Kiana going into the eye or whatever of Finality at the moon, So its possible that that version of Kiana ascended but it was still too late to save the world. Emanators could be equivalent to Herrschers as they act as Generals to the aeons 'will' so to speak and draw from their Aeons power. Most likely there was the Will of the Honkai but the Honkai was Nihility and was testing Humanity much like Finality did with Hi3 cast. Archeron was able to fight back/resist Nihility but not before her world was destroy unfortunately, much like how humanity in Hi3 had to rebuild from the damage the honkai had did and Kiana ascending to the Herrscher of finality didn't revert or fix the damage the Honkai did previously. So Archerons's world was 'doomed' by that point (regardless of if she ascended to a herrscher of nihility or her friend too control of it) and Finality was the 'truth' that Kevin talked about (iirc) in H13 meanwhile in the short we find out he talked about how the truth of the world was hopeless/fated to fall into the black hole, so 'nihility'. Archerons world, from the one artifact set, looked at the world tree as 'meaningless' whereas Hi3 saw it as a means to an end/determined fate due to the timelines. So I think which aeon affected the world does determine the fate.

herrschers are more linked up to PE. the frost sword with the cherry blossom in the background relates to Sakura with her ice sword, flame relates to PE Himeko as she was the herrscher of fire (also you can hear nightglow right before it shows the sword), Form is like the thousand xuanyuan swords, and end/finality is closer to kevin than kiana. also divine keys are a PE creation

"Herrscher of Death", despite the grim name, it's "Authority" is limited power over life. That's why Seele was able to bring everyone back with the "rain" she summoned as Herrscher of Rebirth. Herrscher of Rebirth is actually Herrscher of Death, just that Vita didn't like it, so she renamed Seele's Herrscher title to instead "Herrscher of Rebirth". Also, even at the beginning of HI3rd, Seele had the Stigma of the Herrscher of Death, that's where Veliona comes from. She just didn't turn into Herrscher of Death till the end of the "Salt Snow City" arc of HI3rd, because Kiana had the Herrscher Core of the Herrscher of Death, because Sirin had it. And also, Seele didn't turn into a Herrscher through normal means. Instead of drawing her Herrscher powers from the Honkai, she drew it from the Sea of Quanta instead

miHoYo seems to be showing more scenarios where some civilizations failed to stop the Honkai. We first saw it with Vita/Sa where all of Venus got destroyed and there weren't even any recorded Herrschers. Then there's the current Mars story where the planet is pretty much gone but people live in the Sea of Data. They got an Elysia equivalent but she couldn't accomplish what our Elysia did. Now we have Acheron's world which mirrors Previous Era a lot with how they had powerful soldiers and a decent track record in stopping Herrschers but still lost.

Acheron first wielded Howl (the thunder one) and then Origin after Howl got broken, just like Mei-senpai who was first HoT then HoO

So everyone really forget the reference for Naught? Or... It's really not that known? The blade Naught is also a reference to the Key of Blankness by the way, which... was first used by Dr. MEI.

The origin and End destroying each reinforce my theory of the two being corrosive to each other. I think the origin is an anti-time power. That would explain why senadina fail to become the god of mars.

Well those powers are authorities or universal laws....so it didn't just limit to HI3 world only, and since they are basically within the imaginary tree universe it's no surprise those similarities between the two world, only in this time, there is no counter part of Kiana to wield the power of End and it corrupted the others, so Mei in this universe has no choice but to destroy both sword in the process which eventually lead to the demise of her world against IX.

Humanity/Ego doesn't exist. Elysia wasn't originally the Herrscher of Human Ego, she was the Herrscher of Origin until she changed her name to Human Ego because she fell in love with humanity. And Death is almost like if Seele (HoDeath) doesn't have an alter ego too ong

A little bit of both honestly. From what Hoyo has given us so far, Acheron's backstory is basically the PE era of humanity in HI3 where she fought alongside a version of the Flamechasers to fight off the Honkai/Kami, and despite winning several battles, they eventually failed in the end with her version of "Kevin" apparently becoming her enemy that she needed to put down. Then sometime after that she apparently met with a Trailblazer called Frebass. The latter is implied to be Acheron's "Kiana" equivalent but then she died too after she tried diving into a black hole if I'm remembering right.

To be fair, IX doesn't choose. Its whole gig is that it has deem life as meaningless, so it can't care less about anything, so it just sits in the universe, doing absolutely nothing. Acheron receiving its powers is more of a consequence of their direct interaction and not because of any intention from the aeon.

Origin missing Elysia since that Herrscher never existed but was Elysia itself

So basically the hesercer in star rail universe already being forged into two..well...swords?... And like Otto said... Imaginary tree always use honkai energy to clip it's leaf to maintain balance in many form... So in star rail the power vacuum of hesercer simply filled by Aeons...

I was thinking, the Acheron world is more similar to PE than CE and that's why maybe we didn't get any hint of Kiana. Besides the narrator is Kevin, the protagonist of PE, and they say how after killing the first ruler they created a weapon with its body, being exactly what they did when Vill V created VA with HoR core, and the subsequent divine keys. The CE didn't create any divine key with the cores of the defeated Herrschers. The only problem here is that then Acheron wouldn't be an expy of Mei, but instead of Dr. MEI... Which can't be right, I don't see anything scientific in that girl

In HI3, we're finding that despite the descendents of Mars being able to speak with people on Earth, everything they experienced is similar to Honkai eruptions, but called something completely different.
