Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun & Sauce Recipe | Wally Cooks Everything

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here's a recipe for steamed HK Chee Cheong Fun that doesn't require any special equipment. You most likely already have what's needed inside your kitchen. I'll also show you how to make three sauces, sweet soy sauce, hoisin sauce and peanut butter sauce that goes perfectly well with steamed rice noodles.

    You can make a bunch of these ahead of time. Stick it in the fridge. It’s good for 3 to 5 days. Reheat with gentle steam and enjoy! 😉

    Hi Mr Wally , it’s fun watching ur video about the cheong fun recipi (took me to those old Hk days) , am just trying to make these here in india so bought the Thai rice flour ( the one in ur video)and tapioca starch from Hk. Now I don’t have wheat starch , so can I use corn flour instead…? And also if I want to use only 50 g of rice flour, so how much of tapioca and corn flour shud go in…? Appreciate ur reply…tks

    Hello and thanks for the kind words. I will be making a few vegetarian dishes. Most likely some time next month because October there's a big vegetarian festival in Thailand.

    I love this dish, however it seems like the rice roll is thicker than the big sheet of rice sheet you made in your other video. May I have the recipe for the big rice sheet please? Thanks for sharing.

  • @WallyCooksEverything

    @WallyCooksEverything

    Жыл бұрын

    I don’t recommend making the large sheets. Not unless you have the equipment. My mother in law has it and I actually made a video but the footage came out unusable 😉 As for thickness just add more batter and allow extra cooking time. Should be fine 🙏

    @@WallyCooksEverything I don't remember eating chee cheong fun with peanut butter in hk ... One of my hk friend did not even touch the CCF I bought because I ask the shop to put sweet sauce and chilli. I realize later that in hk, people only eat simply with soy sauce, and sesame oil

    @@esp4yu how’s it going? 😃 HK has a lot of ccf shops. It is quite possible the one you went didn’t have it. Maybe they ran out 😆 Or maybe they had it but didn’t hear them offer it? 🤔 Anyways it’s hard to speculate. You can do a google search for HK/Cantonese chee cheong fun with peanut butter sauce and find I’m not the only one referencing peanut butter sauce.
