Honeywell HumidiPRO Digital Humidity Control

Ойын-сауық

In this video, I install the Honeywell H6062A-1000 digital humidity control. In this application, it will be replacing an existing mechanical dehumidistat ( H8908C-1000) which has been controlling my 70 pint Dehumidifier for many years. Thanks for watching.

That's a great setup there through and through. While I'm not a fan of electronic controls, I can certainly see how this would be more accurate.

+jaykay18 | The control setup has worked very well for me since I put it together about 12 years ago. However, I was always having to nudge the old mechanical dehumidistat one way or the other to get the humidty where I wanted it. This control will eliminate that. It's keeps the humidity as steady as a Honeywell Pro series thermostat keeps temperature. Thanks for watching!

+Mike's Channel | Hey Mike, great to hear from you! LOL! Yes sir, the dehumidifier was like a life support machine for me and the house last week. I got the new HumidiPRO installed at the perfect time for a good test run. Thanks for watching Mike!

+84randomdude | Thanks Matt!! I'm impressed with the accuracy of this compared to the mechanical models I've used. It's just like going from a mechanical thermostat to a HoneywellPRO series, there's no comparison really! Glad you enjoyed Matt! Thanks for watching and commenting!

The H6062A only lets you adjust humidity in increments of 5 degrees. Have does it hold the humidity to +- 1% or have you noticed. I Just installed mine and I haven't figured out what the swing/hysteresis is yet. I hooked up the outdoor sensor even though I only have it hooked to my dehumidifier. Thanks for the video.

Yes, and that is the only thing I don't like about it Don. I wish it could be set in 1% increments. I'm sure Honeywell has a reason for this but I don't quite understand why. I've used the H6062A now for a few months and really like how steady it holds the humidity. I have a couple of tabletop digital hygrometers in my house and they only move 1-2% during high humidity load conditions with my dehumidifier cycling on and off. So all in all, I am very happy with the HumidiPRO. It doesn't have nearly as much variation with changing indoor temperatures as my old mechanical one did. I had to nudge the mechanical dehumidistat now and then to go off or come on. The HumidiPRO has eliminated that for me. No problem Don, thank you for watching.

AVTreasures Thanks for the fast response. I have a couple hygrometers also and I'll keep an eye on them and see what the swing is for mine. My dehumidifier (Honeywell DR-65 whole house) can keep the humidity (manual control) swinging between 49-57% (almost 10% swing). I'm hoping the H6062A is tighter - fingers crossed.

No problem. I think you will be happy with the HumidiPro Don. It should do a lot better for you. 10% is a big swing. I used to have a 4-6% swing with my old mechanical model, depending on indoor temperature. Let me know how yours works for you.

+AVTreasures When will the Coleman Heat Pump start up in cool mode and does the Coleman heat pump's thermostat have the "C" wire hooked up ~Dee~

+hvacguy84 | The Coleman heat pump was started in cool mode back in late February on a warm day. With all the solar heat gain, It only has to be in the 60's for that room to need cooling. Yes, the Common wire is connected on the Coleman's thermostat. There are no batteries in it at all.

AVTreasures I have a dehumidifier that has an always-on switch or Knob that says dryer or humid I want to hook up this humidistat for more accurate readings but I want to run it to a contactor and have the contactor send power to the plug that turn the thing on I'm pulling 24 volts from an air handler that's in the room I tryied to wire the U and U too the contactor and it didn't work so I guess I'm just trying to figure out how you hooked it up cuz it looks the same as what I'm trying to do??

I see. Let me try to help you out Joseph. What you will need is a separate 24 volt transformer for your control set up. Mine can be seen here at the end of this video: skip to 8:42) kzread.info/dash/bejne/nZh6yMiTdZS4c7Q.html I am only taking power from my furnace to power the Honeywell HumidiPro. The power to operate the contactor comes from the separate transformer mounted in my control box.

what does your U U go to on the dehumidifier itself

  • @AVTreasures

Those two wires make and break the 24 volt circuit going to the contactor. When the contactor closes (on humidity rise) it sends power to the outlet that the dehumidifier is plugged into and turns it on.
