Have raised my son alone for 16yrs,I had him at 17,an older guy fathered him,I was naive and lost I was looking for love and care in wrong places 😢it's been all about me and my son now he's almost done with high school, I'm so proud of myself..some situations are out of our control for sure,have never lied to my son about his father even though his father moved on with his family and forgot about us,me at 33 now,still struggling with trust issues dating or falling in love feels like a myth to me,hoping one day I meet an honest,kind and loving person to grow old with🙏 for children I'm not sure if I would want another one 🙂

This movie was great and told so well. I never realized how great an actress Shelly Long is. I watched her in cheers growing up and seeing her in this kind of reminded me of her in Cheers. She was an upright, hard pushing kinda lady, but sweet on the inside. I also raised my first 2 children without their father and tried my best to not speak ill of him. The part where the daughter realized that her mom did that for her made me cry. She played the kind of single mother I was, wanting the best for my children, not them knowing all the faults of their father. I hope when they do meet, they will understand. They are 25 and 21, and I think it will finally happen this year. A lot of young men just aren't cut out for fatherhood and it's a shame because their children and the man would be so much more fulfilled if they were actual parents to their children. That love is irreplaceable. I hope my children's lives are more fulfilled instead of being let down when that day comes, but I will just be there for them. I always say people can change and I hope now that the kids are grown he has. Time will tell.

The genuine love of a good mother is simply priceless.

A mother's love is not easy to destroy. It's as strong as diamonds. I have one daughter in a very difficult situation but my love for her has seen me and her through our difficulties. Through this movie I celebrate my love as a Mother ❤🎉😅 Great Movie!

I enjoyed this movie tremendously seeing the binding between a mother and daughter, i have 3 sons! However as an African mother, i cant fathom the sometimes disrepect from a child to the parent in the film!

One of the BEST movies I have seen in YEARS! Fresh, new concept, great acting, and actually similar story line to so many people's reality, parts of it anyways, and I LOVED it, sharing it with my friends and I have never done that before. This is the first movie in years with an original story line and not the same thing w different actors. Great Job, more please!!!! ( loved Shelly also, she needs to be in more of these!)

Wow it’s shocking to me how people spend time together, sleep together and have an intimate relationship but when the vocation ends so does their relationship fading into thin air.

I loved it. The whole idea to use the honey moon such a way was bitter-sweet, but it worked. How lovely! Sometimes people have misconceptions about those they believe to know the best, like Shannon about her mother. I like that her eyes opened up to reality about her dad, her mum and her ex-fiancé and that she did not delude herself about the summer guy. It was good that she did not get into bed with him. There were two hugs and two kisses and that's all. This way she had good fun without any heartache. It was also nice that there were new beginnings from a totally unexpected place and the mother got a genuinely good person to love and be loved by. And it was great that after the eye-opener speech of Jack Shannon saw what he was like and ended it without any remorse. It was sad that her father did not care about her. I guess, it is like real-life. There are people like that. It was fantastic that mum and daughter had a new lease on life. It was priceless. I wish we could pull something like this with my mum, even without that magic holiday. But life does not have, at least not usually, happy endings.

Sweet outlook on life. Maybe you should write something along these lines to your mother. You have insight and this helps when communicating with anyone and one's family includes unique individuals we get to try and figure out.
