When adding dessicated coconut to the end it reminds of the Local bakery cakes in chennai very mouth-watering

I used coconut oil in the batter and blueberry jam for the icing. It was absolutely delicious! Fantastic recipe.

I tried this cake today, with exact measurements given. It turned out very yummy. Hebbar's kitchen is really helping in this lockdown time. 👍👍

Kishore Reddy so true.... we used to see such cakes in Bakery with dessicated coconut over it....and we were more fond of such simple cakes then.... Like Honey Cake, Rava Cake, eggless Vanilla Cake and few others 😊

Honey cake was my favourite cake growing up.. although you get all ice cakes n velvet cakes n what no ..my love for cakes are simple.. sponge cake ,plum cakes during Christmas time n honey cake ....thanks hebbar..I am definitely going to try this!! Anything hebbar I just download n then watch..you guys are best

Strawberry jam adds tangy flavour for otherwise very sweet cake.

Shaveta Sharma yes, it can be microwave..i did it on conversation mode @ 170°c for 38 min.

The best part was 'have a bite' my most favourite part..😁😁

Love your show and I follow every single recipe!!! Please tell me whether we should bake in both rods heated . I have Morphy Richard OTG 12 CC and have three more- bake mode ( bottom rod heated), grill ( top rod heated) and toast ( both rods heated) Which mode should I use? Last question - when I bake at 180 it gets burnt. For smaller oven does temperature setting vary?

I baked this cake in pressure cooker. It got very slightly burnt as I baked for 45 minutes. Other than that the taste of the cake was awesome. You brought back my childhood memories. I used to have this cake regularly in Iyengar bakery. Next time I will try to bake with less time. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Usually there will be air bubble in the cake batter which will be released if we pat it before baking. Air bubbles in cake batter might result in bad shape but will not vary the taste though!
