Specifically for Cara Dun, she is a jaded ex-soldier who has no faith in the leadership of the rebellion/New Republic. The Rebellion was a broad organization with many cells. She probably heard stories about Luke bu figured they were just propaganda. I really don’t think it is unreasonable.

No really, seeing her return the lightsabers to the Alderaan debris ring world be pretty affecting, at least in comparison. "Here is what we fought to prevent" and all that. But then Star Wars would have to acknowledge that Leia existed which seemed to be a real problem for them.

@@SimonBuchanNz I don’t think Alderaan makes any sense. I feel that she was honouring the Skywalker family in general. Luke, Leia, and Ben. Alderaan has absolutely no meaning to anyone other than Leia. The ancestral home of the family makes sense for that.

Ya'll are forgetting we found Baby Yoda when he was in hiding. He probably hadn't talked to anyone in a long time. Def could had stunted his speech abilities.

About the argument you should be able to talk at 5 (in Yoda years), have you heard how Yoda talks at 900? Clearly language isn't their strength.

True. Plus, it seems like Baby Yoda is very advanced in a lot of other areas. It seems kind of strange that he would be a baby for so long, though.

If 1 Yoda years equals (approximately) 25 human years, then original Yoda would have been developmentally 35. While he seemed much older, I guess fighting in war and spending 2 decades in a swamp doesn’t lead to good aging.

There is actually a good reason for Cara Dune to not have heard of the Jedi, and that is because even at the end of ROTJ most Jedi are gone or in hiding. Darth Vader himself and the Emperor were Sith Lords, not Jedi. Luke was an important leader with "powers" but it may not have been commonly known that he was a Jedi. Even Kuill knows something about the Force (and he worked for the Empire for several lifetimes) but not about Jedi or Sith.

Really, this is a strange disconnect that's been in Star Wars for a long time now. The Jedi led the Clone Wars and were directly involved in the action across hundreds of planets, yet somehow, ~20 years later everyone has forgotten about them and\or doesn't believe the Force even exists. You can assume that the Emperor used some sort of disinformation campaign or actively censored history teachings, but it's never really been addressed. (And sure, the mundane reality is that this is merely another continuity issue caused by Lucas not really knowing the series backstory before making Episode IV, but that's no fun. It seems like a plot hole worth filling in at some point.)

Classic Yoda and other Yoda-ish Jedi characters could be exceptional. It's possible that with such strong Force/mental powers this race is mostly telepathic and verbal communication is difficult for them. Classic Yoda could have learned to talk solely to communicate with different species (which accounts for his strange grammatical constructions.)

You need to watch Anime Black Lagoon. Mild manored middle management guy goes off on a adventure with a Merc crew... Well first he's kidnapped by them.

I would literally watch the honest trailer commentaries for rise of skywalker like 20 times, if you're running out of content ideas u can always do some of the honest trailer commentaries that you guys skipped. (Mostly rise of skywalker tho I'm still not done being frustrated with that movie shockingly and I'm not even that big a star wars fan)

I totally get and thought not was funny that Solo was a single parent. In the Bloodline book with Leia takes place 6 years B4 Force Awakens Leia and Solo are rarely together. She is immersed in politics and Solo is away doing racing craving adventures. And Ben Solo has been with Luke at Jedi boarding 😀 school.

The Jedi were all but extinct during the time of the Rebellion, and Luke was not a general nor was he actually a Jedi until defeating Vader, and by then, the war is over.
