People thought aespa's lore is just for fun but their lore is actually much more deeper than that. When they make their debuted and announced about the ae- and avatar concept, SM and aespa were getting harshly criticized by the media, general public and KPOP community but little did they knew that aespa's concept is basically about the real and cruel situation that happened in social media and to the celebrities. 'The misusing of social media led to calamity'. Groundless rumors and gossips (Winter), cyber bullying (Ningning), public pressure (Karina), deep fake crimes (Giselle), all of these are some of the horrible things that usually happened to the idols/celebrities/public figure.

This is insane....SM truly has such a creative team , everything links back to the beginning, and it is this fantastical lore which so compellingly draws the audience in, so magical and wonderful....looking forward to see more of SM Universe. Karina=> insecurities Giselle => pressure Ninning => negative and hate comments Winter => gossips/rumors

The fact that this => looks like a smiling face from a perspective is quite ironic 🙂

The reason it was in a comic book style when ae-karina called is because she called from the FLAT so everything was flat and 2d. When they synk dive its 3d to show both the physical world and the flat merging both the ae-members with the real members. The change in art styles/ live/ animation is to show the change and linking of the different worlds/dimensions, which I think was really cool and creative. I was like u at first I was like “I waited a year for fxxking pictures?!?!”

You need to read the lyric of aespa's song (black mamba, next level, savage and even illussion). It's all about the story line of this aespa's smcu.

From what I've gathered so far, Kwangya is the "internet", where basically ANYTHING can happen, just like how Kwangya was said to have no rules but 2. It's amazing how SM came up with this concept because of how integrated our lives are with the internet. And to build a universe in that limitless medium, it's just genius

I don’t mind with the lack of “live acting” because i know for sure this sh!t is hard to do so why don’t we just appreciate what they gave

As someone who like anime like me i didn't mind it actually i liked the vid .... however we should respect people opinion he just don't like animation direction....plus he didn't say anything insulting

A little reminder that SM uses CAWMAN, which means Cartoon, Animation, Webtoon, Motion Graphics, Avatar, Novel. Its basically the different styles of animation with animators doing their hardwork for this. As a visual artist, lol the animation was astounding and animation is really hard.

The train was also used for the big concert that aespa and red velvet and other sm artist did on KZread

At first I got the impression that this episode shows us few things about their story. But it's because it explains a lot about some things that we did saw in their MVs, but it was too much to understand (after all it's a music video). However, as I like them very much I rewatched it and I started to apreciate the amount of work SM put in this. The drawings, 3D production, transitions, suspense... it's so good. They are really promoting aespa right. Which girl group has this kind of investment? A whole series? SM Culture Universe is taking us to the kpop Next Level

I think many people not notice this but here 14:23 , they are doing like deep fake on Gigi mocking her, like in her rap part on Savage

SM using CAWMAN As you can see in next level introduction and it stand for C-CARTOON A-ANIMATION W-WEB TOON M-MOTION GRPAHIC A-AVATAR N-NOVELb and that's why you see they change to animation, comic then avatar bcs this how CAWMAN is.. You know doing animation is take a lot lottttttt of time then makiny shooting in real life.. I'm study in animation and multimedia stuff so that's why I know how hard this is.. the awkward part at the first time they landed in kwangya, that was in purpose that many things they've been through in kwangya, but all the things wasn't in main part against the black mamba. I really love how black mamba, next level, and savage MV match well with this episode. In episode 1, they only told us how aes become human part in real life.

If you remember Savage, it was called Hallucination Quest. This is the whole thing, and as a hallucination, it's meant to look awkward and trippy. But I kinda remember you saying you weren't actually into animation? So yeah, it does look a lot like graphic novels at some point, comics at others, and The Sims 2 at the rest. They did a great job of tackling the issue of the negative comments and the expectations that people have of them.

I am not sure what you were expecting in SMCU series so idk. Ep 1 is about Black Mamba, Episode 2 is Next Level with a bit of Savage, Ep 3 is expected to be Savage(and prolly Girls too) esp Naevis parts. I find it offending how you're into the story(?) but don't understand why CAWMAN is incorporated into these series.

Same thoughts. I find it offending as well when he said that the art makes it "awkward" when in fact it's there for a reason and makes everything more sense. I understand that he's not a fan of the art but atleast appreciate the Effort of the ARTISTS and ALL the people who made all this possible. As a fan and reader of Cartoon, Webtoon, Manga, Manhwa & Novel this really ticked me off.

If you don’t like art this must not, I admit, be made for you. Since SM really focused on emphasizing various form of art ( or animation) in this episode, to create an environment full of diversity and reflect the different dimensions. Which I personally find really relevant regarding the all story and concept and quite visionary as well. Anyways I still found your reaction a bit disrespectful towards the artists who worked so hard on this project maybe if you rewatch your reaction you will realize how it can be interpreted as rude. I usually enjoy your reactions but this time i’m a little bit disappointed. And don’t get me wrong you’re totally allowed to not like it but it’s more in the way you express it that resides the problem, it sounded a little bit condescending.

I didnt even start the vid and im seeing 90% of the comments saying this is the worst lol not watching it. Im glad there are some small youtubers who are great in reacting despite that some are confused with the concept, they still know how to understand.
