I'm a pretty hard nosed country girl and crying isn't normal for me but for some reason this song hit me really hard. I think it's all the stress I've been under just trying to feed my family and pay my bills. He's right. It's all just to much to bear anymore. Not sure how much longer I can hold it together 😞

Sending love from Canada - this song hit me too- started crying … for my boys 17 and 21 who tell me things like they will never be able to buy a house and there is no future. We the people all around the world need to ditch our politicians and start again… they are all corrupt.

I’ve been watching react vids all day on this song because it hit me like a bad case of myocarditis and sooo many forgot that two lines that are so impactful. I’m so grateful he caught it. As a mom of three young men (22, 19, 16) this part hit me fuckin hard. Kicking them down. I’ve watched it since they were babies. Shut up, boys. Sit down, boys. It’s all by design to weaken our fighting force against them. And it breaks my cold, dark heart 😢

@@nicollepratt8421 They are the LAST two lines. He ends the entire song with that. Oliver talks about male suicide in his 'Pleasure' and 'Moving Forward' clips and ALSO in his big new Twitter post. It is NOT (just) about VETERANS killing themselves OR about men 'working themselves into the ground'. It is about MEN KILLING THEMSELVES. Period. American culture hates men and Oliver is talking about that.
This song is for everyone. I have seen every demographic listen to this, and everyone felt it the same way. Deep in their soul. We are more the same than these elites push to divide us.
I've watched MANY reactions to this song. This isn't just uniting the country, this song is uniting the world. This is the anthem of The Great Awakening.
Been watching all these reaction videos, and when they hear the lyrics about abuse of minors, welfare, suicide, taxes . It's like chills up millions of people's backs at one time. TRUTH!! Pray that some millionaire record producer doesn't twist this into the commercial markets 🤞🤞🤞. Like the recent stuff out there. ( not a jelly roll fan here) lol. Ya'll gotta remember this stuff when your voting , local, state , & federal!!!!

Overtime cost the company more. When the economy is in the shitter, no overtime is the rule. God's blessings upon you and yours. It's a blue and white color song.🙏💛
A dude who commented on this song said he got a $50.00 bonus last week and after taxes he only received $11.00
This needs to be shared EVERYWHERE!
Employers do NOT like paying over time because it costs 1.5x for the last 10-20 hours from an already tired employee. As an employer I always tried to keep everyone under 40 hours but I paid bonuses (+$1/hour per employee if they met budget/costs). For small businesses you can quickly run out of money with a bear bones staff and everyone is exhausted is an expensive death spiral. It’s a hell of a balancing act that has gotten much harder over the last 30 years.
“And I know that you do” is such a powerful line. He’s saying “I know that you know it’s happening. Stand up. Say something.”
He has his own utube channel with all his songs and life. Its a super good channel.
YOU SIR , are the first reactionist to highlight "young men are putting themselves 6 ft in the ground" line out of all the videos I've watched to this song 👏👏👏👏
Was waiting for this. Did NOT disappoint!
I love this song! My family is lower middle class, we work like dogs and pay 5 figures in taxes?! BTW I love the dogs and the deer stand in the background cause that's how we live in flyover Country! BTW for people having confusion with the Lyrics (captioning stinks lol). When he says "I wish politicians would look out for miners and not just minors on an island somewhere" Miners with an er are coal miners and minors with an or is for kids under legal age. People who don't live in the South Fudge Rounds are a type of fattening Little Debbie snack cakes , if you live up North think Drakes cakes LOL.
People still don't understand one of Oliver's messages, which is the freedom to express the truth without limitations, because most of the reacts are surprised by what he sang. It's not to be surprised, it's to speak without fear, and devalue any kind of censorship or demonetization, the truth and lies are to be revealed by reality and not by an "authority".
Overtime is cut because the less hours you use on payroll equals a larger bonus for the higher ups.

Paying people what they've worth isn't necessarily the problem. Its exactly as Oliver said, the dollar doesn't hav buying power because of inflation, and the fact that what dollars people have are taxed at every turn, only magnifies the situation.
Sharing the love for this moment 💜
You know why we haven’t seen the list? Because a lot of rich men met their wives on that island, those wives don’t want to be outted. The rich men who are paying a lot in alimony met their ex on that island. The men & women involved don’t want it out.

Companies reducing overtime hours is usually depends on the state there in and the company's profit margin to work output, whenever a company has to pay an employee they also have to pay in to taxes plus there is usually a back door tax the doesn't show up on pay stubs and that is for social securities usually for retirement. love this guy the system is broken and normal working class people can't relate to what they see on the screens pushed by whatever ultra wealthy or politicians, that's why reaction videos are getting so much views people want to relate with everyday people and Oliver Anthony is exactly that the normal everyday individual just needing to express himself.
Regarding overtime if anyone is looking to move Alabama just removed all state taxes on overtime up to like $40,000 a year of overtime.

I believe he's keeping the songs short and repeats certain important lines to get the message across to a world with a short attention span. I think we are in for many more phenomenal songs!
Overtime is 150% your hourly wage. Some exec making 7 figures a year decided that it was better to hire 3 people for the same job and give them all 20 hours a week. That way the company only pays 100% salary and not 150% for 60 hours a week.
there it is, the hope...isn't is amazing that such an agonizing song is spreading hope?
Yes!!!! Truth…
Hearing about HR killing overtime in your GF's work place, I have a different experience. The company I work for has no problem working you overtime. They don't care because they make more money. They will gladly use us up. Good pay. No time to do anything with it and no time for family.

"This has been the situation for longer than we can keep time." There is a book "Gods of Eden" by William Bramley that talks about "Custodians" keeping people divided and distracted over 1000's of years so that they can maintain control. Appreciated your reactions. 🙂
I work for walmart, and they stated were in a small recession, so they cant "afford" ot hours. But they are a multi billion dollar company....
Dude, I want to comment on almost everything you say in this video. So many thoughts. But for starters, I know when I worked at TD bank they HATED when anyone was paid overtime. Just solely for the expense factor. Also at 1:48 - I have a theory about this. They care because they already won the game of life. They already got everything they can get financially. Sex with the hottest women money and power can buy doesn’t get them off anymore. The finest meals cooked by the best chefs is probably almost meaningless to them now. So, what do they have left on this planet that they can still conquer and control? Get their rocks off a little more? Us. The answer is us. Now the only objective that seems fun to them is to control our lives and move us around like little chess pawns. Idk just a theory. But I will also say man… if you ever wanna have a podcast style interview I’m down! I have an SM7B also. Even if we just spliced it into KZread short style clips, I feel like between us we could have some insightful conversations about shit. Great content bro I’m excited to peep more of your channel. As a business owner in canada, i can tell you why i cant afford to pay my guys more...i would love to pay some of my guys 40/h but daddy government wants me to pay tax for every employee i have, and the tax is almost compareavle to the wage of a worker...so 40/h comes to almost 80 for me. If the government took their damn boot off the throats of small business we could pay much higher wages
I sooo hope the reason you’re not posting as much is because you have been able to work more and then can pay yourself more. Overtime? More taxes paid out to those Rich Men North of Richmond!
When it comes to the tax you gotta remember its taxes before it gets to your company, after they receive it, when you get paid, when you make a purchase. Its a broken system.
To answer your question, overtime pays time and a half or double.
and even then i wouldn't say it's every "Rich Man" but yeah its definitely the majority. it's when you have to really look at and see what they do with that money and why. ask the questions and dig. never assume because that tends to be victim to our own biases. nothing wrong with seeking the real answers but you have to want it and you have to be able to deal with the truth of it. anyone who knows knows.

North of Richmond is DC
Don’t come knocking
Enemy of mankind: BlackRock Vanguard State Street
This song has nothing to do with any particular political persuasion, it has to do with the entire structure of the United States government, and decapitating its control over the American people entirely. He was actually attacking both parties, this manipulation and control from Washington DC including the IRS has to change, all low class and middle class workers have to have the correct amount of pay to maintain their livelihood and not be strapped for cash when they need it, it's very plain and clear in his message that this is nonpolitical, the airheads that are making it political are not very smart, and you know who you are, time for change in America, and Oliver Anthony is heralding that change, and we are with him.
Some companies will work you to death. It's usually your manufacturing company. But all other they do not want 1 minute over..
Controlling the color blue is a chris rock refetence.
Not just suicide man, think of gang violence , military
He is also talking about the waste in our tax dollars. People on the streets without food but people who do not want to work are milking the system for welfare. I am sure there is VA he has seen people load up on junk food and pay with government funds.
My husband owns a restaurant. He gets taxed to shit.
At least where I work if you work overtime you're taking bonuses from the upper management so they don't want you to work overtime

What other rich men are north of Richmond? The United Nations organization.
It's not about rich people it's about the all of the rich ass politicians.North of Richmond refers to Washington d.c.
And, all you have earned and intend to pass on to your children is taxed again to the point that they are better off selling it. You are even taxed for dying.
Great song and overall great message. My only disagreement with it is the line about healthcare. One reason is that when chronic conditions in people who can't afford healthcare go untreated, tax payers very often end up footing the bill for emergency care of a person with advanced disease. That tends to cost exponentially more than early treatment would have cost. Another reason that a single-payer system would drive down healthcare cost is by eliminating price gouging and other inefficiencies of health insurance companies, which are enabled by those rich men north of Richmond, since those companies fund their campaigns in no small part. It's no coincidence that the only developed country in the world that doesn't have universal healthcare (the US) is the one that spends almost twice as much on healthcare as the next closest country (Germany), yet has _the worst_ healthcare outcomes (the lowest life expectancy and the most deaths per capita from avoidable causes) among developed countries. Universal healthcare won't fix everything, but it'd be a massive help.
They want to know what's going on in your kitchen so they can get richer off your info.
Afraid you got it a bit wrong dude. The lament isn't against the ultra rich (not that they don't have fingers in the pie) but against politicians and bureaucrats that make rules that cripple the average person's ability to earn a living.
You’re even taxed when u die
No, it's definitely more on the right side and against the left.
