Walmart sells pretty litter now and it works great for my female cats I mix the litter up after I scoop out poo and it’s been great for me

Yes! That was my experience too! Had to switch back cuz the ammonia build up was horrendous. I have 2 cats as well and my boy drinks water more than my girl so we had litter slush. At 1 month I was 3 bags in, for 1 of the boxes, and decided it wasn't gonna work for me and my asthma. It sucks cuz I loved it the 1st week. Thanks for your honest review. I was beginning to think I had been doing something wrong as everyone else loved theirs. It is nice to know I wasn't the only one this happened too.

I completely agree! I’ve been using pretty litter for a month now with my single 4 month old, and I also see the same problems. I can’t imagine using this litter for multiple cats! If the litter was much cheaper and wasn’t such a big deal to dump out more often then I would be willing to continue the use.

Thank you. I have wondered about this new product. I appreciate your review. I know you say you have two large male cats using the same box, but I feel compelled to mention something from experience. When my cat started drinking a lot of water and peeing a lot, I took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with diabetes. (I know the Pretty Litter is supposed to help the owner know if something is wrong via the color of the used litter...but sounds like it may not be 100% reliable nor may it be user friendly to figure out!) So, just wanted to put that out there. My kitty lived for 5 years with diabetes and I gave her an insulin injection daily. I wonder today if I should have noticed something sooner and maybe we could have cured her with diet and meds. Best wishes to you and your cats!

Oh, your comment touched me. I'm involved in people medicine, not animals so there's that for credibility. But rest your heart, we can't cure diabetes-in any warm-blooded species, and we cannot cure it in animals either. What we can do is watch diet, fluids, exercise, and the meds need to be prescribed by a physician/veterinarian with regular lab exams to monitor progress. That's it in a nutshell. With good care and attention, most people with diabetes can live happy and healthy lives; we often don't expect our pets to have these same conditions that people have. But it is a disease, and it will run its course. I'm betting even with the disease, your kitty was loved and was well taken care of. You can forgive yourself. You did the best you could and had your kitty to love for 5 years. It's hard but it wasn't your fault or the fault of your kitty. I am sincerely sorry for your loss. Blessings.

I have a 16lbs cat and buy the big bag at Walmart they say it's supposed to last two months and I use it all and within a couple weeks I need to change it because the dust that's created after sifting and urine smell is too much. Once again I'm looking for alternative litter for a big cat. Thank you!

The bag I bought was resealable. I don’t use the whole bag at once either. I top it off over the span of two months. They sell it at Walmart. It’s expensive, but that’s about it.

Bought this because my Walmart didn’t have my normal cats litter in stock 🥴 so I figured that I would try it because there was so many bags in stock

Definitely make sure your cats aren’t diabetic if they are drinking that much water. I have two cats and two boxes. One clay one pretty litter. They seem to like to pee in the pretty litter box. One pees a lot but I still just stir all they down from the bottom with no issues. It does track, and is super dusty and the dust feels sharper than clay litter dust.

Just a heads up, if your cats drink a lot, it means they are not getting enough moisture in their diet. You should switch to a good quality canned food like Ziwi Peak or a raw food diet. This should help with their bathroom habits

What litter do you use that youre happy with? Ive been using pretty litter for over a week now because my cat had a UTI and we didnt know it for a while so I thought this would help me detect sicknesses quicker. Unfortunately I agree with all youve said. It doesnt absorb the odor like it says, it smells terrible of urine, and it tracks terribly. Id love to know what you do like for your litter!

I LOVE worlds best in the orange bag - it is low tracking and flushable. It is made of corn so no chemicals or worries about them licking their paws. It is clumping which is great and we just scoop it into the toiler and flush. It doesn't cover the poop smell sow e scoop when they go, but you don't smell the pee at all - I clean the whole box and start fresh every 2 weeks.

Thank you for this!!!! I've only had it a couple of weeks and I've just discovered the blue slush 😒 I'm not impressed And it tracks so much more than any other litter I have used for my two girls! Also, one of my girls still isn't 100% on board, so I'm switching back to the old litter.

This has definitely been the most honest review of the litter I've seen, so thank you very much. I had been curious about this litter's value while looking at the reviews, I have one cat who doesn't go to the bathroom much and was considering buying this, but the price point is just a lot, and every month? I think I get her a box of litter every six weeks, no odor issues, minimal tracking, and it clumps. The idea of all the urine sitting in it and just being stirred up, slowly building up to an odor, and the "well it might determine a health issue or it might be fine, wait and see/maybe go to the vet if it lasts for x days" sounds like what the expense is, but it isn't a guarantee (obviously the company can't claim to diagnose one's cat through litter, I get that) and it sounds like an expensive quasi-perk. For the stock up option, if I wanted to make sure I had some to spare, one month I would do the 3 bags and then switch back to the regular, just to save a bit/make sure there were extra bags around if necessary, for like you said, shortages or delays in shipping.

what litter do you use?

Thanks for this review. I will stick to Tidy Cat Litter. We have 6 cats. Can you imagine the cost and stink? No thanks.

I've been using the product for over a year. It is more expensive than other litter, but it does absorb the smell much better than other litter I've used. I have a litter rug under my litter box, and I agree there is litter on the rug, but that is why I purchased the rug to capture the litter when my cat jumps or steps out of the box. With other litter, I had to wear a mask because of the smell and dust; with this product, I no longer wear a mask because there is no ammonia smell from the urine or dust. For my one 13-pound cat, who drinks lots of water, the one bag of litter last one month exactly when I clean the box daily and no longer than every other day, and my litter box is large with high sides. Because there was no smell, I forgot to clean the box for two days, and because of the amount of urine, there was a smell. The litter absorbed the urine when mixed, but the litter did not last as long after letting the urine sit in the box for too long. So the key is to clean the litter box daily for the litter to be effective. It's worth the price to me not to have the strong urine smell in the house. Thanks for your review.

Also I find that if my cat peed hours ago and I go to check it. It looks like there is no pee as I can't see any color. How do I know this because I will see him go but then be like I will check it later and when I would you couldn't tell three was any pee in there.

This is such an accurate review. I only got this litter to monitor my kitty's urine as she has been dealing with a UTI. It really only works like a charm for about a week and then you have to deal with constant smelly pee slush. I feel this smells more and doesn't control the odor as well as my usual go to, the SLIDE from Arm&Hammer I believe they're the ones that make it. Welp, switching back to my tried and true as it smells a lot nicer, clumps well and really does slide off the box. I hate having to scrape off stinky pee mush lol

World best - its all natural and safe so no worries about your cat licking it. I get the orange bag and the tracking is so much lower. It lasts so long and is flushable too

I have one cat, but he drinks a lot and pees a lot. He is 19 years old. I had the same issues with the pretty liter. The smell was just bad after the first week to be honest. And the tracking of the crystal beads on the floor was terrible. I went back to Ever Clean clumping liter.

They sell it at Walmart. Just got my first bag and I’m testing it out.

They say you can use this type of litter in the robot but I feel like it just doesn’t last as long as clumping clay.

Diet plays a role on that “pee smell”. My cat is on partially raw/wet food and her bathrooms breaks are not smelly and that’s coming from someone who is extremely sensitive to bad smells. Maybe I’ll try it and instead of 2 inches I’ll fill it up half way since that’s what I do with clumping litter. I use a plastic bin for my cats instead of a low litter pan.

Its the ammonia actually- It doesn't smell initially but when sitting the ammonia smells comes out no matter what they eat

I bought a bag of pretty litter 3 weeks ago at Walmart it was 39.57 here in Canada plus tax it’s quite expensive I am able to reseal the bag tho

So which litter are you currently issuing. My cat poops and pees so much. If I could cut down on the order and the floral scents they add I’d be happy.

I use worlds best - in the orange pack for tracking but the red one is good too. The scented ones aren't great but the unscented is my favorite. It's all natural, flushable, clumping and lasts super long while and doesn't get stuck in their paws and if it did it's all natural.

@@samanthann92that’s what I’ve been using but I find it smells just as bad as all the others. My friend turned me onto the Breeze system. It’s pellets and the pee gets separated so you only have to scoop the poop. It’s the best thing I’ve ever used and has changed my life.

This is awesome! I also have two litter mate brothers who are big boys. 15 and 18lbs. My husband wanted to try pretty litter but I was skeptical, I’ll share this video with him.

I have 4 cats. I got 4 bags. They last about a week before the urine smell starts to get pretty strong. It tracks all over. Like sand. It has its positives but the urine just collecting and smelling horrible is a deal breaker. Too expensive. Not worth it.

I never understood how ppl like silica or non clumping litter. I tried it at the beginning with 1 and 2 cats because when I adopted them they were using non clumping, but I quickly switched to clumping. I don’t understand how ppl can think that having pee sitting there day after day is a good idea in terms of bacteria and hygiene for the cats.

Ok.. i thought i was going crazy because I couldn’t find ANY negative reviews. I had all the same issues and I literally have one small cat. I’m on month 2 and it always smells SO BAD, and pee settles at the bottom no matter what and it really makes it seem like these positive reviews are all fake. Maybe my cat just pees way too much?? What no one is saying is once 2 inches are added, what next? Do you add 2 more inches? Do you throw it away then add 2 more inches? How often do you add liter?

When needed. As you scoop and as it gets gross depending on your cats habits. You don't add any litter. When it's time you empty and replace.

so what happens to the urin when they pee? if it doesn't clump how do you get rid of the urin

It absorbs into it but when there is too much it doesn't and becomes like a slushee of urine

Would I use this litter if it wasn't expensive? No. It just didn't work. There are other dust free litter methods that work better like "yesterdays news"

I had exactly the same issues way too expensive and after about 2 weeks of using it( I only have one very large cat) it smells too bad. So I would have to change it every 2 weeks. Also because cat is very large he needs a large litter box so I needed to buy 2 bags at a time to get the 2 in depth in the litter box. So it would cost me $80 a month. Which is beyond insane.
