This is an AMAZING video. Thank you so much for being so thorough, answering every single question I had, and you’re easy to listen to and comprehend! I’d love to have you as my vet, however I’m currently already working at a vet hospital. Anyway, the ad for Pretty Litter popped up and i immediately searched up a DVM’s review. This was perfect. Thanks again! Kat, CVT

So what happens when this stuff gets stuck on their paws and or fur and they ingest it via grooming? Might it get caught in their throat or poison them? What do you recommend as the best?

That's a good question! The ingredients are non-toxic so they aren't poisonous. In my experience, the Pretty Litter actually got stuck on the paws less than a clay litter because it doesn't clump. So while they will ingest some during grooming, it shouldn't be enough to get stuck in their throat or cause impaction. If your cat goes out of their way to eat the silica litter directly out of the box (so they consume very large amount) it could potentially cause impaction problems, but most cats who consume small amounts via grooming should be fine!

No worries! I use Pretty Litter in half of my litter boxes and Arm&Hammer Multicat in the other half.

    Isn’t silica cancerous?

Silica gel is added to many product packages to keep them dry. Anything electronic will likely be packed with silica gel packs. If it was a carcinogen then that wouldn’t happen.
