Just think about how he's narrating the story. The Prince: I was running along the wall, and I jumped, but fell just short. I tried to use the dagger to rewind time, but because I used it just before I jumped, I could only rewind after I jumped, sending me back into falling until I ran out of sand and fell to my death...wait, no that's not how it happened." Farah: So why did you go into that much detail? The Prince: Umm... getting back to the story, so after the sand pillar...

The nostalgia from the gameplay in this honest trailer is hitting waaaay too hard

@@MalkavSaiyaYautja Yeah Sands of Time is pretty damn close to modern standards IMO but Warrior Within ? Clean up PS2-era animation hiccups and you got something that most modern melee action games could only dream to achieve (save a few landmarks like DMC) ! I mean even Two Thrones is pretty close to that. The stealth felt a bit forced but aside from that it was still great, maybe even better artistically than Sands in places and tied up the trilogy neatly :)

My best memory is in this game, with the father boss fight Farah will tell you " use your dagger, it can turn back time". I you rewind time at that moment the dialogue will play again, but this time the prince will respond with " I know, you already told me that".

Prince of Persia will always remind me of late nights at my Pentium II, trying to beat that 60 minute time limit in the original.

Yep the OG was something, I remember playing it on my old 286 DX, in black and yellow. Without colors, good luck figuring out what will be the effect of each potions you just find for the first time.

It felt like a gaming version of those timeless classic fantasy adventure films like Clash of the Titans & Jason & the Argonauts.. I'm glad they included it on the PS2 Sands of Time disc & also remade it on PS3

Love the episode! A weird part of the game is that the Prince loses a piece of clothing after every chapter of the game lol

Warrior within definitely... I played it before Two Thrones and it kind of ruined Two Thrones for me, for some reason it looked and ran better.

⁠@@liamnehren1054 That’s so interesting! I played both on GameCube. Two Thrones was always my favorite, and Warrior Within was always such a buggy mess that I could never even finish it (as in, it literally blocked me from the ending because of all the bugs).

@@resonant_logic7542 I played the PC versions of all three. I think they were made for PC and the rest were ports which would explain any bugginess on Gamecube. warrior within in part looked better because mistakes are harder to notice in darkness and two thrones is really bright.

What was it again for the game sequence? Warrior Within? Two Thrones? Sand of Times. Or was it Sand of Times first? I know the Two Thrones was kind of in the middle.

I played prince of Persia when I was a kid, then I immediately ran across the walls at school and got detention. I didn't show up to detention. 😎

Hats off to Stuart Chatwood for not only being in one of the best bands in the world (The Tea Party) but for composing the best game series soundtrack ever.

Prince of persia, the game where an architect see as normal making walls with a lot of knives, or put the lever to move a lamp 20 meter from the floor either way was marvelous

The ending was so smooth. After he had finished the story it dropped straight into the sick end credits song.

I remember this game because I started with the "tutorial", and it never told me when the tutorial ended, so I thought the entire game was a tutorial.

you forgot to mention, the hard puzzle is what activates the traps across the palace. The ones that annoy you far more than the enemies

Nah, traps are relatively easy. Respawning enemies were way more annoying.

New Alan Wake coming? Neat! Ignoring all the hype hoses out there has really set me up for some pleasant surprises.^^ Ahh, I remember Sam Lake regretfully reporting that they wouldn't be able to finish the Alan Wake story back whenever... I hope the good folk at Remedy get to wrap it up to their satisfaction, now.

Recently replayed this gem and it's just crazy how good it still holds up as an awesome 3d platform/action game, with great gameplay and an amazing story! You just know, that it's a great series when you think about the fact, that the first Assassins Creed Game was actually supposed to be a new Prince of Persia title (back when Ubisoft actually gave a shit)

Right after I beat the game for the first time, I immediately tried to play it again. The problem was, you have all your combat moves unlocked from the start, but the game slowly teaches them to you over time. So instead of tough fights that felt great to complete, they all turned into dreadful slogs.
