Great video. I have a few pairs of cowboy boots that are 18” and taller. You’re right...they’re ideal and practical for colder temperatures. I wear my taller boots in fall and winter months, and they feel great! They do provide that warmth. As you said, wearing long socks that go above the tops is great. But I always wear my taller boots with long johns or thermal underwear in addition to long socks, which I wear with all my cowboy boots that are 12-13 inches.

Just found a second hand pair of 1758s and love the look. Hondo boots rock.

I have a pair of Tony Lamas with a 16” shaft and 2 1/2” heels.

Those Hondo boots look great . Tall boots need tall socks , I've tried numerous boot socks then tried socks made by Thorlo , these are great socks.

Love that suede, and that spur ridge is fantastic. im excited for a video talking about how the height of the shaft of the boot can make it hotter or colder. ive noticed that when my jeans are over my boots it is cooler and when i have them up half in (like oil field workers wear their boots) it is slightly warmer, maybe just me.

Tall boots are great for bikers too for full protection against engine heat and add some added protection. Keep you warmer too on colder days

My ruff out anderson bean are like velcro, every thing sticks to them. Don't cut grass, or do wood work the chips will stick to them. I love mine but brushing them and picking them out all the time

Jeremiah those are some great lookin boots. I typically only wear tall boots . hard to find boots like that in east Texas ! Great review 🤙

I would love to have a pair of stove pipes! I got a pair that need retired, a new punchy pair would be awesome to have. I’m leaving mid November for basic training so these would be an awesome parting gift 😂

I’ve always wanted a tall pair of cowboy boots, just for something different, nice boot all around though!!

The double stitch welt is for the heavy work boot. Nicks, Wesco, Whites. Pacific northwest is where you will find the purpose of. Stitchs don't often break but in certain jobs you want the double stitch in cade it happens

When I entered the contest, I also wrote a comment I don't think got through. In the 1970's I had a sand colored rough out 16 or 18 inch high pair of Hondo boots ( slightly rounded toe, spur heel, I used the spur ridge to help remove the boots, my height to knee is 20 inches) Because of lack of feeling from an accident as a teen, I liked the height for when I was welding, or riding my Harley (I wrote to you before mentioning I usually wear western or engineer boots and leather pants) I had an auto restoration and detail shop over 50 years, and for 5 years wore those Hondo boots. I also used Feibings spray can waterproofing on the rough out, and using steam cleaners, pressure sprays, and detailing cars, the Feibings kept my feet dry and the boots always cleaned up well. After 5 years, someone stole them, I don't know if Feibings still makes the spray waterproof. I haven't tried the modern square toe (only the harness boot style) but think those Hondos are great looking and would love to try them. Keep the video's coming. All the best to you, I was part of a band for a decade as lead singer, guitar, keyboard and flute, all the best to that also.

I.have always preferred boots with a higher top. Never found them to be hot in the summer. Personal preference. Not a fan of the square toe boots. I have one pair of Ariat that have square toe, ok but prefer medium round toe. Great video.

Hi, I only buy the tall boot because they are warmer and even if you are working on your property it keeps your shins from bruises and such

U should tuck ur pants in those since the shaft is so tall

You wear with you’re pants tucked in the boot, boots like that are THE style of the old west cause y’all boot to tuck in and rap you’re spur straps around it plus the spurs and full or half chaps where the thing back in the day so they are great boots to have and great to work in

Hi Jeremiah, need your help. Recently i bought dan post boots and it fells like a half size bigger then need to be. Does you ever shrink a boots with water or maybe use some other technique for shrinking? Sorry for bad english

As far as I know you can't shrink boots. You can put an extra insert in it so your foot can fill out the space a little bit more. That's what I had to do with these Hondos. Or you can wear thicker socks

They run pretty true I just found them a little wide for my foot because I'm a narrower size and Hondo doesn't make narrow widths
