I have the 2019 1000X, and I actually like the rawness of the gear shifts. These Talons ride stiff, and just feel “tight”. Great for high speed driving, however they do lack the softness, and plushness on a slow ride. It’s also VERY hard to not be jerky on the throttle, when riding it slow, over rough terrain. Those are truly my only complaints. I absolutely LOVE my machine!

I read that they adjusted the i-4wd to engage quicker with larger tires? Have you heard or experienced this?

Haven’t installed larger tires yet, but we have an extreme distaste for i-4wd so we have installed an override switch

I may be wrong but wouldn’t you want the holes so when you wash the interior the water has somewhere to go? Thanks for the comparison video!

No doubt you want some holes since it is an open cockpit, even a Jeep has drain plug holes in the floorboards.

A simple drain with a plug would do, the way the Honda is the cab fills with dust

Yeah we ride in a lot of water here in NC. We have to have large drain holes

All they did in the transmission was up dated the gears everything else is the same. So the older one’s should be able take the new gears.. I was going buy same one but would not get it till September. So they had 19 green one with a lot parts on it for good price. So I got the 19 model..

Not all of the plastic is unpainted on the 22. The plastic direcrly below the head is definitely painted. I have one dull and one shiny cause the paint came off in sheet using a garden hose to wash it. Kinda hate to agree, but I feel like the quality is not what it use to be. Missing hardware and plastic retainers also.

Yes there is more painted than original thought as we have some peeling. This machine also had a lot of the bolts on one side stripped out from factory.

My 2022 talon 1000x 2 seater arrives July 29th. I never had a side by side. I have no idea what accessories i need to order with unit. What accessories do i need to get? I live around a lake so i would be using around roads, grass, fields and trails.

Accessories aren't a necessity, but some items we like to have are a quarter/half windshield, seat belt override, i-4wd override, lower door inserts, and a hitch plate if you want to use it around the yard. A lightbar and winch if you plan on night rides or more extreme trail rides. Some people like to put radios and soundbars in theirs. We should have an accessory video coming up soon for this '22 Talon.

I pick mine 1000x 2 seater up this Thursday!!! So I got the 32 inch system 3 370 tires and system 3 beadlock wheels. Then I got the 3 way windshield by super atv, the rear windshield vented, winch, fender flares the low pro ones and the inners,, hoppe sound system. This system saves leg room and doesn't impede in head space. Mounts up top kind of above the dash. Took my price up quite a bit but I saved for a while and had a nice chunk to put down and be able to get it where I wanted. I will be adding a light bar front and rear before heading to Tennessee for labor day.

@@franklinmarshall6730 I am still up in the air on windshield. I heard the 3 way is the favorite but honda doesn't offer that. I will check with dealer if they sell the one you have.

I added a very bright LED light bar across the top, a windshield, fender flares, and a wench. Oh, and a smaller LED backup light. I also added the quarter piece, to make full doors.

Wouldn’t say it is quiet by any means but you could certainly lug the engine and keep the revs down since it isn’t CVT

@@WhiteCollarRedneck. I switch to a higher gear pretty often in mine, just for smoothness, and a quieter ride. However, it will automatically downshift, if you get below 4,000 rpms, or so.

Dumb question here. What's the difference in the pioneer drive train and the talon drive train?

  • @WhiteCollarRedneck

    @WhiteCollarRedneck

My understanding: same base design but Talon has more high performance pistons, cam, heads, larger injectors and throttle body. The trans and sub trans are the same, but the front/rear diffs are different. You can compare OEM part numbers
