Hi, Don! I've really been enjoying your videos lately, and in fact went to Ridenow over the weekend to purchase a Ruckus. While I was there, I saw you walking out the door but didn't get a chance to say hello. So this comment is to say "hello" and keep up the great work with the videos. I'll be babying mine during the break-in period (Any tips?). Maybe one day I'll see you on the road! Cheers!

Wow! Can’t believe I got recognized from my tiny channel. You’re the first. Thank you! Not sure how much riding knowledge you have, but schools are out and their parking lots make excellent practice locations to get used to scooting, then stick with the neighborhoods until you start feeling comfortable with busier roads and there’s no timetable. Move forward at your own pace. Keep an eye on your fluid levels and tire pressures, of course. But mainly, for yourself, be careful in this heat. Get yourself the Chase Harper tool bag for the handlebars, you’ll use that more than any other bag, and get the Chase Harper underseat storage bag to carry lots of water. There are other bags but these are good quality and made in the USA and their customer service is excellent. By the way, “hello” right back at you.

@@Dondular Thanks for the tips! I'll start looking at those bags you mentioned and try to keep cool. Feels like it gets hotter every year here, seems less windy too. Looking forward to your next video! (Yea, I couldn't believe it was you, kind of did a double-take. Next time I'll give you a proper handshake!)

I'm def into over maintenance, I would expect the coolant to last alot longer than that. I'm coming up on 1k and going to do second full change and maybe gear oil replacement, since I push it past 10k with the Rolling Wrench CDI I change the oil much more frequently, maybe I will do a coolant change too as the light for overheat did come on once though I thought it was fluke.

I decided to change the coolant after my last 100 miles trip and I could feel the heat radiating up from the engine. After the change and another 50+ mile trip, the radiator cap felt relatively cool to the touch.

I just bought mine it’s a year old with 8900km the first day I changed spark plugs and oil. Now I’m changing coolant next I have it just figuring it out from here and air filter coming in this week I guess gear oil is the last thing it could possibly need

Good and informative vid. How often do we need to change the radiator fluid?

Thanks. Not sure how often. I did it when I thought I needed it after 100+ mile rides in 100+ degree days.

Why doesn’t my coolant drain from the overflow resovoir? I have to empty it manually

If you took off the reservoir cap it should drain through, especially when you remove the radiator cap. If it doesn’t you might have a blockage somewhere. Make sure the protective seal on the antifreeze bottle didn’t fall into the reservoir from a previous coolant change. If you can’t find the culprit then you should get your system flushed.

Congratulations! I didn’t do the change based on miles and don’t remember what the mileage was. I did it because I’d been riding a lot in the Texas heat and thought it would be prudent.
