@@ALPHABYTE94 it could be the plan, since the wind tunnel testing time allowed is ranked from the worst team to had the most time for testing to the best had the least time, by finishing behind Mercedes redbull will have more wind tunnel testing time then Mercedes

I really like the honda 2015 sound more then the redbull ones, I think how they sounds so good is because the engine sound is backed up by the whine of the gearboxes of the redbull

2020 the best sound + what a lap from Hartley in this video.

Wow the 2018 toro rosso sounded spot on in f1 2018, nice engine sound.

If I didn't know the names of these Honda engines, I would've thought that someone had a stroke typing in the title.

The onboard from the Nürburgring was also in 2020 like the Imola footage, there is no onboard from 2019.

2019 & 2020. What a roar, simply satisfying.

Unpopular opinion: the 2016 McLaren was not as bad as it looked back in 2016

I think Honda in 2016 was supposedly at the speed of a Renault, decently fast but not as strong the top engine, I think the MP4-31 chassis is the one letting McLaren down

@@clemfandango2379 fun fact the reason McLaren cars during Dennis's time are called with MP4 designation are it's a syllables of 2 things, M stands for McLaren and P4 stands for Dennis's project 4 racing= MP4

Im gutted they threw him out of f1. He showed great talent later in endurance racing. Damn you Helmut Marko, manages to find diamonds in dirt only to look at them for a week then throw them away if they arent Vestappen 2.0 within a year

from 2018 the sounds have become better

Since the start the Honda had its BRRRRR sound

Tell me that 2018 Toro Rosso wasn't the best sounding car on the grid man... And not to mention that 2020 Red Bull growling on every downshift! Pure eargasm man, hooollyyy!

I feel like the 2016 engine was actually fairly good, they reached 340 kph down the back straight. I feel like if they didn’t change engine concept in 2017 they would’ve been onto something. Probably not a championship but probably P4 in the wcc.

​@@angel.3006the 2017 redesign is what brought them back to the front. They changed concept because the 2015-2016 design was reaching its peak output and had to. That was from a Honda employee on the forums around that time.

Idk why but I really vibing the engine sound from Honda's RA615H, that's Honda's 2015 engine for you freakin non nerds 😂

@@francishallare204 tho Honda can't be said had no blame either as they set a unrealistic target by taking the path of Mercedes with split turbo concept which hurt their 2016 progress

I think the reason for the change of sound in 2018 is F1 playing around with the microphone placement to make cars sound a bit more exciting!

That's exactly what it is, and frankly, I was never really a fan of it, except maybe on the Renault with its straight-cut-gearbox esq whine as the driver went up the gears. Though this year they seem to have got rid of it, as the engines sound more like they did from 2017 and before.

I think that the 2017 McLaren could've been fighting or be very close to the Top 3 if it wasn't for the bad engine they had. A beautiful car that only keeps me wondering of what could've been...

McLaren's ignorance and impatience forced Honda into the wrong development path and made a GP2 Engine. Toro Rosso and Red Bull's accommodation led to Honda developing a WDC engine.

Unlike Alonso Honda didn’t give in. If only McLaren hadn’t been so pig headed, 2 years later with development and they’d been on top for a decade but they gifted that to Mercedes. Now more grunt and driveabiliy than every other engine.

Show this to codemasters/ea. Maybe they can hear what the f1 engine actually sounds like. Sounds are total garbage for f1 2021 (

Agreed. I can't believe they ban Cvt, removed auto gearbox, removed TC, replaced those old grippy tyres with very slow slidy grip less tyre, and removed launch control. Now the car are so much easier to drive without all of these stuff.
