Another excellent and helpful video .Like Michael Bond I'll try this soon. Might help start my Accord better as when I start it ..Sounds / Feels like starter motor takes its time when cranking the engine over ..

If your battery is good. It could be your starter or my accord was getting hard to start it was the injector seal leaking.

Great job you did there! I would like to buy a used Honda Civic 2.2L diesel, but I’ve read that due to the heavy torque they’ll probably need a clutch + DMF replacement around 100K miles or so, which can work out pretty expensive. Is that accurate, in your experience?

Got a 2006 civic 2.2 ctdi with intermitent engine light saying check system car seems to run fine but comes on and off every few hours . 2 codes p2199 and p2004. Any ideas ? Thanks

might be IMRC solenoid and map or map.

Hi there, you could do a video for cleaning egr valve on honda crv 2.2 iCTDi 2005 and later models also can be difficult to remove from vehicles, and how to clean them ! Also question does a gunked up egr valve cause exhaust gases to leak into engine bay rear and also vehicle cabin ? Many thanks Mark

Hi mark, I could do it on my accord I don't have a CRV but it's the same/similar engine. It's not really that hard it's on the front of the engine and it's like 6-7 bolts. It's a little tricky but nothing a bendy socket doesn't help with. If you are getting exhaust smell in the cabin either your injector seals are failing or have failed and it's making a chuffing noise or more commonly the exhaust manifold on the Cdti is a weak point and it starts to blow. Sometimes if you take a torch you will be able to see where the blow is but most likely it is the exhaust manifold. When you change it make sure you change the gasket too.

I think you have a cracked manifold,happens alot on accords and civics too.

I've never really seen them super caked up but once cleaned it feels like the car runs a little smoother or so I think. You also might notice the mpg jumping up a bit.

Ever had them affect acceleration around 2k rpm in 4th and 6th and maybe 5th on pulls? or slow pulls.

I don't think. What problem you having it not accelerating as it should? Is it throwing a code?

I have an electronic probelm with this engine! I have the error code p0340 wisch is the camshaft position sensor fault, i replaced it and still the check engin light's on the same damn problem! I don't know if you have you idea about this, can it be the ecu!? Or some electrical issues!? Or anything!

Did you change the sensor yourself? Did you put everything back together and plug everything in? Did you clear the codes and do you have any running issues?

0w-30 is the best oil in my opinion for this engine.

my civic 08 MAP sensor failed and is in limp mode...tried the cleaning, no luck and code wont cancel so the local garage will fit a new one on Friday.

update > the garage unplugged the sensor and cleared the fault...so the cleaning worked. i used electrical contact cleaner on the sensor probe and small amount of black soot was blasted onto the tissue. if faults happen again i will try unplugging the sensor and clearing faults with my OBD reader.

Hi, I got civic mk8 2.2 icdti. It constantly in limp mode, reset it and limp mode in a few seconds. Any ideas?

@@enginium6043 P1401, P0670 on a small cheap reader. Clicks right back into 'check engine' a few seconds after clearing. Spoke to Honda, they said the 2 A/F sensors. Don't think a diesel 2.2 icdti has them! Cleaned out the CAT (s) and searched along exhaust for sensors. Nowt!

Have you tried cleaning the egr valve? Give that a clean and see what happens, there are guides on KZread. Depending on your mileage it will be heavily clogged.

It might. If you give the map and maf a clean first, then check the egr valve isn't clogged and is working properly. Does it spool up properly and drive normally other than the stuttering?

@@enginium6043 Yeah car drives fine when cold but it stutters at 15-2000rpm when at operating temp

I use 5w-30. That's what honda recommends for my climate but depending how hot or cold your climate is, you might need a different oil 👍

Yes I know. There is a whole bit on how you need a 5 sides torx. Did you miss that bit?
