Honda Front Strut Replacement 2007 Accord (2003-2007 Similar)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Honda Front Strut Replacement 2007 Accord (2003-2007 Similar).
In this video I show how to replace the front struts on a Honda Accord. I used complete strut assemblies on this job so I did not have to compress the springs. The exact vehicle in this video is a 2007 Honda Accord EX Sedan. 2003-2007 Honda Accords should be similar. Enjoy!

I can't express enough how valuable these videos are to people like me that want to do their own work. KZread in some ways is like free college classes. Yes followed this video closely and did mine. I had a slight misalignment with the mark at the bottom of the shock (ront) and it was not sitting inside the fork correct. Thankfully it was only slight and after release the told fork bolt and pushing up the hub it all fell in place. Thanks BIG Dog50001 !

I like that you include similar models in the title. I have yet to work on a Honda for two reasons. One, they're not many around where I live and two, (no surprise to you) they just don't break that often. Well, to be honest, I don't really advertise that I work on cars so no one knows about me. I pace myself. (ha ha) Interesting name, "compliance bushing". I come from an aviation maintenance back ground so I'm a big believer in torquing fasteners. Great video.

Pro tip from Eric the car guy: if the wishbone bolt is seized, which as this vid mentions is common, you can leave the seized bolt, disconnect upper ball joint and sway bar link and tie rod end and release the strut that way.

very good video, however, I have always taken the nut off rather than try to spin the bolt, to me is just less contact area and less to have to overcome plus, I am sure those bolts are fluted for a reason, seems to me spinning them is going to reduce some of that...I am Not being critical of your methods, I am just offering options....

I have 91K on my OE struts and I think they are due for a replacement. Do you think the KYB Excel-G is comparable to OE struts? If it is I would rather save some money and apply it to fuel :)

I think Honda OEM struts are better but they are usually very expensive and can sometimes be difficult to find for certain models. For the price, KYB make very good struts in my opinion and I use them a lot on Hondas.

How important is it to replace the fork bolt and locknut? They are expensive and I would have to wait longer to have them shipped in...

Big Dog, I tightened my new struts and new lower control arms bolts without a load a few months back. Should I go back and loosen and retighten the bolts this time with a load? I also noticed my car is higher on one side. Could this also be a problem? Thanks.

I would re-torque them properly if it was my car (fairly easy to do). Ride height (probably not associated with the work that you did) is commonly off from one side to the other on many vehicles.
