    Thank you so much for putting this all this together. Do you have any more information on how the stock reverse camera connects to the android head unit? I am trying to figure out which wires need to be converted from the stock connector to an standard yellow video connector and which wire triggers the reverse camera to activate. Many thanks.

    Hi Peter, the wiring harness that came with it hooks up to the OEM reverse camera so there’s not much fiddling I need to do get the reverse camera to display the video on the headunit. Does your CRV come with a OEM reverse camera or are you installing one yourself?

    @philbeals4442 Hi Phil, that extra wiring harness is needed if your car has a USB port inside the centre armrest. Have a look at the 26:49 mark. It essentially connects that USB port into the Joying headunit so you can use it for charging or Carplay/Android Auto.

    I just got the latest Joying Head Unit with Android 12, have the same Aussie CRV Head Unit as in this video, and also got the wiring harness (B cable option) that had mis-matching sockets, and missing sockets marked 1,2,3 & 7 as marked in your diagram. My Cambus also does not pickup any data (doors open, lights on, steering wheel controls.) Joying have been quite responsive, so hopefully I'll get a replacement harness. I like what you did with separating the screen from the unit when mounting, I think I'll do the same. Glad I found your video.

    Hi Blisoft, did you get this resolved? If so would you mind sharing which canbus model/harness they sent you and the CAN setting you used pls? I too have the same Aussie CRV head unit but replaced it with a different Android unit to the Joying. The harness they sent me has connections for all the OEM cables (except GPS as it has its own), but for the life of me I cant get the steering wheel controls to work. The seller is investigating but everything they've suggested so far hasn't worked. Thanks

    @@WeaponAU Joying sent me the same harness shown in this video, which has a Raise decoder marked "12-14 CRV (Malaysia)". Oddly enough when I first powered the unit up after connection, still with the "Simple" decoder settings still set from the previous harness, the SWCs (i.e. Vol -) worked for a few seconds, then stopped. Despite changing the setting to "Raise -12 Crv/Civic" as instructed, the SWCs have not worked since. Also doesn't recognise doors opening. Joying have yet to find a solution and have gone quiet.

    for the apple car play/android auto do you need to have a usb connection? or does it work over bluetooth?

  • @AutosNGizmos

    @AutosNGizmos

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Stephanie, firstly thanks for watching my video. With regard to your question, I can confirm both wired and wireless Apple Carplay work with this headunit and it also support Bluetooth audio. So if you are an Apple iPhone user, you can either plug it in the USB, or use wireless Apple Carplay. And with Apple Carplay, it uses both Bluetooth and Wireless to stream audio and content to the headunit. There is an initial setup and handshake that happens but once setup, it works seamlessly. Unfortunately, I dont own any Android phones so Im unable to verify if and how Android Auto works on the headunit. And since filming this video, I noticed the seller has discontinued the 8-inch models. Its a shame since I liked having buttons on either side of the screen as it make it look symmetrical. I also had a look at Joying’s 9-inch models and it stated in the specs that it support wireless on both Carplay and Android Auto. However, I’d encourage you to directly contact the seller to confirm the details. I hope this was helpful and be sure to check back in here if you have any further questions or comments. Good luck on your project!

    Hi Jonas, with regards to the reverse camera: 1) if the headunit does not automatically switch to show the reverse camera video input, then a potential source if issue there could be that headunit has an incorrect Canbus setting in the BIOS. Have a look at the BIOS settings page and look for something like “CAN Type” setting. 2) With regards to the steering wheel buttons, I also encountered the same issue. I was communicating with the seller about this and they provided me with another wiring harness which didn’t work either. And since this is a friend’s car and they are not bothered by that issue, it was a bit difficult to troubleshoot it. So I would suggest that you reach out to the seller and explain to them the issue you have with the steering wheel buttons not working. I hope this is helpful. Cheers! 😊
