    Great help! Thanks so much. Some strange faults occur after fixing the wiper arm back. I pushed the water button and the right arm stand still while the left was moving. I switched the ignition off and disassembled the whole arm. Now I wanted to bring the left arm in the right position by switching the ignition on and turning the wiper handle on pos 1, but nothing happend. No movement any more. So I assembled the left arm again by tightening the bold tough and decided to check the fuse No. 46 (motor cabinet left side if you are watching in front). Fuse ok. ??? Wiper motor defect? I was reading out the fault log, but no fault in the ECU. ??? I turned on the motor and magic magic, the wiper was working properly. Thanks again for this money saver (149,00 Euro without fixing in Germany).

    Great detailed video, extremely helpful! Thanks for the content :) I recently bought a unit like this, although everything works fine I have a problem, with the car running, every 3 seconds +/-, the quadrant backlight turns off and on quickly. Also when I use the lights in automatic mode, during the day, the front and rear lights of the car flash the same way. When the car is not running everything looks ok. Do you have any idea what it could be and/or how to resolve it? Thanks

    Hi Joao, I have a similar issue with the one headlight turning off/on randomly but that was because I switched from halogens to LEDs. I never experience this issue while on halogens. At some point i was contemplating on reprogramming the car but I never got around doing it. Do you happen to have LEDs installed on your car?

    What is the benefit of wiring it to the headunit as opposed to the reverse light? Does it not achieve the same effect?

  • @AutosNGizmos
    @AutosNGizmos12 күн бұрын

    That’s a great question. For me, when I did my installs, since the headunit is already open, it made sense to get the 12v power source from there. Second reason is that some cars have a sensitive canbus and that a slight drop in current/resistance triggers a random warning light. So to avoid that potential issue, I just tap into the headunit/canbus decoder power source. Either approach is fine. Just dont connect both ends of the red wire from video cable to a power source.

    Hello I recently installed mine with the help of your video and mine goes into a blank screen when I switch to reverse

  • @AutosNGizmos
    @AutosNGizmos13 күн бұрын

    Hello Oreoluwa, firstly thanks for watching my video. Your support means a lot to me. With regards to the issue you described, there could be several reasons for that. Here are the steps you can follow to help you troubleshoot. Using a multimeter (set to voltage reading), connect the red and black leads of the multimeter into the corresponding camera power wires then put the car in reverse. If you don’t get 12v reading in the multimeter, it’s either the red wire is not connected to a 12v power source or the black wire is not properly grounded. If you don’t have a multimeter, I have an affiliate link to an Amazon or Aliexpress product which you can purchase (I might get a small commission if you purchase using one of those links). If I may ask, where are you getting the 12v power source. Did you confirm it is in fact sending 12v? If you can confirm there is definitely 12v, then it’s possible the black wire is not properly connected to ground. Normally, the ground point in any car is any bare metal (unpainted) part of the car’s body. Normally, you will see a bunch of wires connected to a nut onto the body of the car - this is the ground point you can use. If you can confirm both 12v and ground are connected properly, then it’s possible the camera is broken. To check if the camera is working, you can take your camera indoors and using an external 12v power source, power it up and connect the yellow RCA cable into your TV. If you power it up and the camera is working, you should see the video feed show up on your TV (make sure to switch the TV to the appropriate input source). I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions. Cheers Ron Autos N Gizmos

    @@KingTreeFiddy Ok there are two areas you could to check. 1) In the System setting, there might be a setting to enable/disable the reverse camera switch. If you find this setting, make sure it’s enabled. Perform a quick test if you changed this setting. 2) Perform a trial-and-error to find the wire in the canbus decoder that outputs 12v when you put the car in reverse, and goes to 0v if you put it out of reverse (i.e. checking each wire of the canbus decoder one-by-one). You will need a multi-tester for this test. Good luck. I hope one of the two suggestions above will work for you. Let me know if you need further assistance.

EVs are just overhyped and overrated anyways, we need better batteries, MUCH better ones before we can say EVs will help in anything. As long there are Lithium based batteries in there with a lifespan of 5-15 years (in the BEST CASE!!!!), those EVs are more of a problem than a solution.

    @@AutosNGizmos Im absolutely not against EVs as well, in fact im for it - im an electrical engineer and did not only personal research and testing on some stuff, especially batteries, but also in work for many years. electric propulsion is something nice and needed - to keep the noise level in cities lower, less stinky stuff there etc, but nowadays i would not build more than 5kWh batteries for personal transport - in other words... nothing bigger than a lets say moped car, better even just small scooters and e bikes, micromobility basically. For a single 85kWh Model S battery you could build about 60 high speed, high range performance scooters. Go into the more used micromobility with lets say 300-600Wh batteries, you are towards 150-300 scooter/e-bike batteries for a single tesla battery. Hi Raj, Your car is probably one of the few cars who received that update so you might have better luck if you reach out to the seller directly. I will try to contact them too to find out if they have a new firmware update.

    @@AutosNGizmos but is there any reset on the X2? Or if I plug it into my PC via the type C, how to update?

    I also don’t know how to reset or update it. I’ve sent a message to the seller in Aliexpress and hopefully I’ll get a response soon. Once I do, I will let you know what they say

    I have a pink wire on the Canbus that is directly below the brown wire it's labeled "Parking" would this wire be 12v that I can connect the red wire too without cutting the brown from the Canbas?

    Hi Kara, it’s really hard to tell based on your description. The only way to be certain is to do a test but you will need a multi-meter test tool

I have pics all the time no matter on reverse I cinnected with pink wire on radio conectir and on cam side i connect with lighter conector on back of the car. Is that lighter conector gives 12v constantly, maybe that is the problem

    Hi Ds Ms, Yeah it sounded like you are sending constant power to the headunit tricking it that reverse gear is engaged. Try to find a power source that turns On when the car is in reverse gear. It can be the 12v reverse gear trigger on the canbus decoder or the reverse lamp on the tail lights. Good luck 🍀

    why would i buy that trash item when i have a phone that i can put in the same place?

  • @AutosNGizmos
    @AutosNGizmos2 ай бұрын

    Yes, thats another option. But probably using the phone for turn-by-turn navigation on long drives unplugged to a power source will probably drain its battery before you reach your destination. If you do decide to use your phone like this, make sure to set your phone to ‘Do Not Disturb’ so you don’t get distracted by any notifications while driving. Drive safe!

    What seems to be the problem? 1) Is the headunit switching to the reverse camera video feed and you see a blank screen? 2) Is the headunit NOT switching to the reverse camera feed?
