    Just to add to my other comment. I know plenty about cars, but I've only owned one turbo car. 91' Talon TSi was the car and it had nothing but problems. The motor was blown and the 3rd gear synchronizer was gone when I bought it. I replaced the motor and rebuilt the trany. A couple of months down the road the ECU took a shit. I replaced it $1200. I then sold the car. I spent about $7000 on the car in one year. I then went and bought a new car. This was years ago. Lesson learned.

    Friend of mine is big into DSMs, had a built 2g manual and went through like 4 transmissions in a year, just couldn't get the manual to stay together with all the power. Him and all his buddies run lightly built autos now since they hold up better... I almost bought one off him to play with but ended up just getting ANOTHER Honda... Lol

    Hey man, Long time no talk lol. Just to confirm, I just by chance happen to already have set my 2step to 4000/3950 ... Am I seeing 3965 for yours? I mean, I knew I needed to close the gap from stock but wasn't sure if this is damaging or not.

    Any clue on how to get flames ? I know the exhaust cam has to be open longer and timing advanced i believe.

    I don't really but I would imagine further retarding the timing, there is no current option to adjust fuel during anti-lag. But to me it seems more fuel ignited later would eventually spit some flames ... I'll look into it more myself because it would be cool

    caraddict Major difference with RV6? Performance wise.. I need to decide between Rv6 and PRL

  • @caraddict

    +Tito Gonzalez I did a lot of datalogging before/after the downpipe and proved it accelerates faster as well as spools faster. I would not want to say it is any better than PRL though because they are probably very close to the same. Only thing is RV6 front pipe isn't available yet, which I'm really surprised and think that's an error on their part as they are potentially losing a ton of sales because PRL has had the full DP/FP solution out for a while now and no word on the RV6 front pipe. So if you want the full setup now and or don't care about the factory look of running the heatshields go with the PRL since the DP is cheaper. Have you seen the fxx or fkx racing deal. I think that's the brand and their piping isn't as big but you get the full deal that also utilizes the heatshield and it's about 370 or so.

    You should look into FKXRacing dp and fp because tbh, 3 inch pipes aren't really beneficial for 1.5 turbo engines no matter what PRL or Vit says.

    Maybe I'm just not as big of a car guy as I thought. You are willing to do more then I am to a new car. I don't apparently know enough about anti-lag and how to set it up to want to mess with it. I would be more willing to let a professional tuner do that. Lol! I subbed based on how crazy you are. Lol! I would just be afraid of fucking with timing and shit that I would fuck my motor up by running it to rich or to lean.

    Is there a way to set the 2 Step / Anti lag settings outside of Ktuner? I ask, since VitViper's tunes come blocked, and you can't modify the settings like what you have.

  • @caraddict

    @caraddict

    Unless they changed something you don't enable it. You just set it in the software when you create your tune and then flash that tune to your car. When you are not rolling and hold the pedal to the floor it will hit the 2 step or "low limit cut rpm and recover rpm" is another name for it in the settings as what you set there mirrors what is set under the 2step tab. I haven't updated my ktuner in a while though maybe I should and see if anything's changed.

    I would suggest getting the tsp stage 1 tune with that. Youll love it. They set up the launch control at 3k rpm but you can adjust it by pressing the clutch in, hold cacel button for 2 seconds press top or bottom to increase or decrease which rpm you want launch control in, release the clutch then its set

    For the 2 step after flashing, Usually you hold down the clutch and press cancel you can adjust it though there

    Is it possible to do that on 2017 civic EX, cvt, non-turbo?

  • @caraddict

    @caraddict

    3 жыл бұрын

    I honestly don't know. I would think you could adjust the 2step with any of the civics with the tune(even if it serves no real purpose with the cvt). Not sure if there will be the timing adjustments since you have no turbo to try and spool... but I'm sure if you search civicx dot com somebody's done it if it's possible.

    So to be safe, if you can be safe ? Lol. -5 would be a good number ?? Using a short recovery window, say 4500top 4450 recover, and I’d want my anti lag rpm set to be where for that ?

  • @caraddict

    @caraddict

    6 жыл бұрын

    well you would set those RPMs for your low rev limit and then have minimum rpm for anti lag a few hundered below that so maybe 4100 or so is where Id set it at. I have my 2 step a little lower at 3900 I think, somewhere around there. I dont hit the 2 step often but had it at -8 for a while and just went -10 and so far no issues. I am actually going to raise the cut a little and extend my recover window just a bit to slow it down and see how it sounds. With all seasons and an open diff I cant launch off the 2 step anyways so in my current situation it's just for show so I'm going for sound vs function... sad I know! lol

    caraddict so this is Prob a dumb question, but just to clarify the Antilag will only work when I’m launching right ? It won’t kick in while I’m moving and let the throttle off ?

    caraddict had something really weird happen... went onto the software plugged into the ktuner to the car and uploaded the map I want . 19.5/21.5 (been running that map for months) and then made some changes . Just early spool and rev hang disable and better throttle response . Don’t normally touch anything else. Although this time i wanted to set up the anti lag . Set it up for -6 @3900rpm.. flashed the tune . DIDNT EVEN TRY IT YET just went to the hwy for a rip . Did a little pull in 4th and my k control went to 1.0!!!! I was like WTF! I was literally running this map with everything the same but with no anti lag for a while and never went over .52 ever .... I never even tried the anti lag. Becuase I was thinking that could make k control go up .. so I putted home . Reflashed my map but without anti lag and did a pull and K control was below .52 during hard pulls .. idk wtf happend . Maybe when I did the flash with the anti lag something happened during the flash .. hope nothing was damaged ??!.. but I know the anti lag should only work at a stand still so idk wtf happened

    You know I dont know anymore if you can enable it on the CVT cars, I would think not because for one I doubt the car really let's the revs get high when flooring it while standing on the brake anyways. The software seemed pretty easy to navigate though I imagine if the option was there you'd have found it.

    +Chris Saunders if you don't plan on running any ethanol or vastly changing the intake (like sensor housing size) a custom tune doesn't really have that much over the stg. 2 anyways) I'm guessing you saw my video where I had them all dynoed (2 videos actually). Of course stg. 2 could have changed since then I don't know. It is fun tweaking it yourself though, as long as you don't go nuts!

    I am sure you can set the 2 step rev limit but without the turbo you can't adjust ignition timing to try and build boost off the launch. Maybe it is available for people who have installed aftermarket turbos but I am not familiar at all with the tables available on other cars, sorry.

  • @alexcraig7595

    Why did it lean out so much on the 2 step rev?

  • @caraddict

    @caraddict

    6 жыл бұрын

    I searched a bit and one of the explanations I found was that any time there is a rev limiter the wideband readings will not be accurate. The way I understand it is that when the "cut" happens it stops sending fuel but the engine is still turning and the throttle is still open so the engine is still drawing in air, which will mix with the already burnt air/fuel on the way out making it appear leaner while every spark event actually has the correct mixture in the cylinder when combustion occurs. So as long as the afr is fine at that rpm/load under normal circumstances should be fine using anti lag... I hope that's right! I plan on some more reading as well.
