    Thank you for this, The best toutorial on how to do this procedure! I'm gonna buy an accord tomorrow and have been researching this engine for ages! I'm gonna do this job myself, doesn't look complicated :) You have earned a new subscriber ;) keep up the good work

    This video uncovered possibly the only poorly thought-out aspect of this engine and that is the high pressure fuel rail being bolted to the manifold. If they had designed it bolted to the cam cover a little higher so the manifold could be removed without having to remove the fuel rail that woud have been better, but otherwise these are solid engines that seem to take the miles very well, like most Honda engines. There is also a pleasing absence of unnecessary use of plastic in the engine bay. Something my other car (BMW) has far too much of!

    Yo man, i'm gonna do the same on my engine. I already cleaned the egr and the intake was really bad so i'm gonna do this job. When cold my car struggle to drive at low rev. When hot no problem but i'm sure this is the problem

    I forgot to mention that if anyone have problem with the noise of the engine like knock injector or something like that, bad airflow will ruin your combustion and make the engine sound horrible. If you want to know if it's the intake or egr, go on the highway in third and drive 20 minutes between 3500 to 4000 rpm After that if your engine is smoother or make less noise then it's probably the intake/egr. I will make an update after the job to make people know. Sorry for my english i'm french 😅

    If that’s the intake then where does the pipe from the air filter box go to round the back of the engine??? Intake cleaner says to spray after the MAF which would be that pipe but it looks like on this engine you have to spray it directly into the front pipe area that you removed, I’m confused why this air is not ran through the air filter?

    it is hard to understand the question. from a technical point a view all diesel cars, from the generation of this accord, have a similar setup. nothing out of the ordinary.

    Alrighty so , I've got a Honda civic 2.2 diesel , obviously the engine bay is just like yours with very minor differences , now , after cleaning the EGR and the Intake manifold got much slower start of the engine and a check engine light as well , any ideas ? The car drives in perfect working order and noticed a slight difference due to being clean though It would be much apreciated

    you should see improvement at low revs, more torque at low speed. Get one of those ELM327 obd scanners and just reset dtcs using something like the Torque app. I am thinking that you might have disconnected something with the battery still connected, or worst case you forgot to connect a coupler.

    @@BestCarMods I've seen it improved the way the car feels , I'll go to my mechanic this afternoon to get the code deleted , If I recall correctly , I must've unplugged something without the battery disconnected , in any case the car drives and feels as it should , apart from the slow start when pressing the ignition button , Apreciate your response and will update here once I get it checked , thank you . 😊

    @@musculitax for me after a few days all was ok. also inspect that you don't loose diesel at one of the injectors, as that might be a cause for hard start symptom

    @@BestCarMods So , I managed to "diagnose" the issue , on the main rail in the right side as it comes from under the plastic cover ( the cables for all the sensors and spark plugs etc . ) I forgot to connect one of them.... therefore causing slow start and check engine light , I went straight after work to my mechanic and he got an obd scanner on it ( saying something about "camshaft position" , I think that;s the actual connector I forgot to plug... Everything else is perfect , the car feels much , much better just like you said , shame I haven't got pictures but the way it looked on the inside , jesus... . Thank you very much for the reply and for the video , it has helped me a lot , in regards to that I believe everyone should do a clean as we did after about 100k miles or less especially mine has 173 and probably no one has cleaned it so far...

    this diagnosis over the internet does not really work ... you need to have the car, do some tests and after that give a solution

    I than looked How to clean EGR valve on Honda Civic 2.2 diesel by Jon P. Shortenings, but everything clearly to see. Sorry, but couldn't do it with your video. I didn't want to blame you, but i really was disappointed, utterly wanting to learn how to do it, and then did not know more than by searching without your video. Go on, but improve, and always think "what does the viewer really see"?
