I'd like to report to the class on my field trip Saturday night to the see The Eagles in Baltimore. It was absolutely amazing, even more so than I imagined it would be. Vince gill had a beautiful pile of Uncle Larry amps, Joe Walsh played a PRS a bunch... an Indo SE model, not one of the high dollar jobs... it sounded magical. Honestly, it was all so damn good the whole show seems like a dream. The only weird part for me is all the cell phones, and the constant battle between security and folks holding phones in the air trying to record. I liked crowds better in the years where everyone was liquored up, passing joints, flicking lighters, and getting on someone's shoulders to flash the band.

Uncle Larry can draw more out of an instrument than anyone else I know and, that’s a lotta lotta folks. I like to think of him as the “pocket finder” in any group of musicians-it’s like magic and like no other individual in this world. What really separates him from other players in my humble opinion are the little things, subtleties at just the right time to make the project/song shine ✨ in the best possible way for the artist, producer, whatever. He varies where he plays with his pick hand, varies the pickup selector tone/volume knobs etc. Left hand leaves room for switching up/variations of voicings in chords. The angle of the left hand/how much flesh is on the fingerboard/vibrato when appropriate. He is constantly changing it it up in very subtle, elegant, tasty ways - something that most ever catch on too or realize he is doing and, has an uncanny way of “getting it” right the first time. I’ve never seen him shine too much on his part; it’s just right and he does this because he cares about the music not himself or even the money he makes. Actually the reason he is so confident in his craft contrary to the ah, “haters criticism” is because anybody who “is” anybody in this town knows all this. Uncle Larry let’s his work speak for itself and that my friends proves he needs no written resumes or stuff like that. The recordings and records tell the story without the need for one word from his mouth! 🍻 Pulled a Larry on the comments but felt it needed to be said for the “records”. One last thing - folks will be watching these “school” videos for years and years and, it’s such a blessing for the observant to be able to see his individual approach to the instrument.

Tom your appeal has been consistent from the start, first off these folks that’s got a certain opinion about who your are , either they’re still growing up or haven’t realized what a human is, no perfect ones among us unless of course they themselves are part of the select few, who think they got all the answers but probably wouldn’t admit it, Larry’s channel just goes along enjoying his profession and the happy parts of this life that matters like family & friends, I’ve enjoyed all of them damn videos he constantly puts out, I’m looking for a bad one that he gets accused of forcing someone to watch, besides his insight & anecdotes that’s fun listening to, but puts out some of the most tasteful, enjoyable style that makes him so popular not to mention his don’t give a rats ass whether you like it or not , I’m amazed at the melodic phrasing, originality and dirty approach to an art that is there for anybody that wants to listen, Larry’s buddy Tom is the top dog into the approaches of styles that is personable to the listener of music that’s original content that makes this 70 yr old loving his playing from the beginning to now constantly fresh, though it’s maybe the beer that helps his don’t give a crap, here it is video like it or lump it to the disrespectful few that needs the attention that could keep to themselves, move along jerks, uncle Larry said ,keep pissing them off Tom

There are some major stars who I have seen live, and I cringe in my seat listening to them plow on a half-note out of key! We watch The Voice on TV, and when a contestant is out of key, I want to turn off the sound. I understand they now use auto tuners to correct that. WTF?? How are you a “star” if you can’t sing?? Because, Nashville is *full* of artists who *can* sing - beautifully. I don’t get it. Anyway - keep ‘em coming! Still the best channel on the Internet - by far!! Love all you do for us! 👍

Damn Tom, starting @ 1:32 , that repeated melodic figure, same octave each time, but different string for each of the 3 repetitions... the slight timbral variations imparted by the differing string gauges, together with the variation in the dynamics each time, depending on your attack... man, that's the definition of sublime right there. Dearest Uncle Larry, your playing is gorgeous and unpredictable. Every note you play is sonically stimulating. Where words end, your playing begins. You are changing my world, Uncle Larry, and that's good enough for me. God bless you, dearly!!
Tom, can’t thank you enough for sharing your mega talents!
Loving the tune in the beginning! I've been spending the morning slowly unravelling the masterpiece. Your playing is teaching me a lot right now.
Amazing tone and playing. Thanks Tom.

Inspirational again Tom...You just keep bringing it....btw, your advice on picking with the shoulder of the pic is great...never had tried that before now I can't stop....Peace and love
Hi Tom, just had a listen to Trip the Witch, amazing work, I love where you guys take the progressions, endless amount of creativity with every track. Awesome album!
So sweet! Uncle Larry is one of my favorite players.
keep doing what you do. the homeskoolers luv you big time. 🎸🥶
The opening tune and the Trip The Witch lesson, unquestionably worthy of a "Volume," regardless of length. Great stuff as always.
Saturn We Love You!!!! I've been wanting to learn these cords since I first hear the song!!!
Home Skoolin folks, know what's up. We love ya Tom!! Best channel on the Tube
Love the story about the guy who says “all he does is entertain.” WTF, that is why I tune in to every video. Thanks for that entertainment uncle. Keep it coming. Love to you and your family. Your pal from the West, Larry.
Have a great day Unc! Thanks for the music!
Tom, I don't need to tell you to hang in there and keep hugging the groove because you know it. All I can say that counts is thank you.

THAT opening tune needs to go on "Plexi Soul II"! Thanks for all you do for us, Tom. Aloha from Hawaii, where the "Plexi Soul" CD is in heavy rotation while cruising in my car. I feel like I automatically play better just after watching you're videos. Thank you for the inspiration. Sure, Uncle Larry can be a little brash at times, but I always get the feeling that he really cares about us Homeschoolers. I love him.
You actually managed to humble me with the playing at the start Tommy, Thank you, I am a young stupid shredder with a lot of room for growth, thanks Larry.
Tom, having very similar experiences down here in Houston. Used to be a very easy place to live and be a creative person. It has become crazy crowded, expensive and the whole laid back vibe that made this sprawling city feel like some sort of secret has been lost.
Thanks Uncle Larry that tap slide just open another chapter. I tap but the slide wasn't there never thought of it. Wow that a keeper. Guess I'll owe you yet another case of Rolling Rock.
God Dang man your playing is awesome, Thank you so much,I was off today. I probably wont move from this seat with my guitar the rest of the Day !!lol, Thanx again Uncle larry
Keep the great videos coming. Loving the longer ones. You are cool, I love that no fucks given vibe. Refreshingly honest.
Mr. BUK!, Said with respect far more than words can describe! Your Playing, Knowledge of music, Knowledge of Tone from Instruments, Amps and Hands that you share with all on your Homeschooling Videos along with what an Amazing Person You are that comes across both in Videos and from Friends of mine that know You, All that combined is what makes this a Treasure Watch, Hear and Learn from! If people would listen to what you say with your Playing and what you are saying, there would be no negative comments! Keep em coming, they help a lot of people! Sent with love from Tim! Thank You!
Uncle Larry. I appreciate you for who you are and your honesty. When you've gotten as good as you are, I'd expect self-confidence leaning toward "full of yourself." But you clearly get along with colleagues and deliver the goods. Love the channel. Keep being awesome.
Best pipes in rock that Freddie guy. Just Mho. Meaningless as they are. One of my favorite intros of your entire catalog. Love them all. The buzz is simple, you are a bad ass!
Some people will never get it. And that's a good thing. Much respect Uncle Larry...
Tom, Just keep doing what you're doing and let it flow. Most of us are here for the inspiration and words of wisdom. My playing has improved by just listening to what you say, and all the extra little nuggets of what you're giving away for free have been gladly received. The one about a single common note in the following chord was a revelation to me. Fuck the negatively that comes your way, this is the best guitar based channel on KZread by a mile mate!
Man, Ill tell you are my favorite and easy content to listen my man. So my second career is driving from Reno-chicago to LA and home back to Reno. I got my “much later 78’ 335” strapped in the passenger seat next to me. Listening to you inspires me to practice the minute I stop or get off shift! Thanks again!
I could listen to you sit around and talk about old guitars all day. Keep those Ghrun’s videos coming! I love slab board Strats too, but I still own a very spanky maple board/neck Strat. I play guitar like kids play Pokémon, gotta catch em’ all.
Tom thanks for everything, music, enterteinment and the reviews of the comments. You are right they are funny.
You make me smile Uncle Larry.
Love you my brother! People attacking you is because your so unbelievably good. Way less jealous people than us who feel like you’re our friend.
Love Nashville. I was there about 10 years ago. My best friend directed a bunch of episodes of Nashville. I came to the city to hang out. Great people. Great coffee. Great music. The city would stay lit at all night for the night shoots. Great city.
Dude you are at one with that guitar. Thanks!💗
I moved to Nashville in 2021 and moved back home this past December. Definitely a cool place to live, I miss it out in ole Lebanon. But wow, a lot of it did suck. I do miss the energy of it though!
Man I think it’s so cool that a kid from Cleveland has built such a great life for himself. Love the comment from a while ago when your mom said how cool it was that you paid off your house. That must have felt good for her.
My Daughter lives there.I am in Knoxville. Couldnt pay me to move there now,I visit and get gone.Much love. Still cruisin the country in east tn.
Just finished the Gruhn's episode 1! Good stuff Tom!!
Tom you are amazing keep up the good work . I am an old dad like you. Watched you from the start . Keep it going . Everyone knows maple strats are glassy .
Every box of Uncle Larry Cereal comes with a treat. Sometimes more than one. It may not be a lick but a morsel of advice. Dig down deep in the box. You’ll find the prize. ✌🏼
Hey Tom,I'm an aging guitar player from philly who sadly never learned to read music. Thanks for your videos, not one slips by that I don't learn something. Joe Walsh was my first Inspiration to take my playing more seriously..i hope you do more with Joe in the future. Thanks again. Bob.
I appreciate all the recent videos - great new features! Maple v Rosewood Strat at Gruhn's was amazing. I thought the one with Johnny McBride was really interesting. Love all the history. I also watched the live stream from Wookie's. Man, Uncle Larry, watching you work in the studio, you must have every singer/songwriter in Nashangeles ringing you up to produce them.
So Very Cool Thankyou. Inspired me to bring out my Artist Guitars Cherry58 Guitar. It has been too long before I have played my 335 Copy , and WOW. So Amazing. Had so Much Fun...... and created some awesome music too.
Hey Uncle Larry. That Strat shootout at Gruhns was just brilliant. The last mapleneck strat you played sounded amazing, but I totally agree with you with that Rosewood ‘63 slapboard.. I’d choose that anytime too if it was in my price range 😊🎸👍
Have a great session Tom. Enjoy your day.
I like entertainment!😎 Love Uncle Larry stories! Plus I have learned some really cool stuff

the talk of the Gear page was hilarious. Love your humor
Have a great day Tom, don't go changin' not that you could if you tried but we all love ya just the way you are....
Mr smooth ! Love it
Man I hear ya about your town growing. The little town I moved to here in WNC 30 yrs ago has blown up. I almost get road rage pulling out my driveway because of the traffic. A silver lining is that there are more places to gig.

Band name for you and GT: The Buzz Twins Your show is objectively the best. The music and instruction is next level of course, but we stay for the stories and the commentary. Refreshing that you are willing to share a qualified opinion or two. Thank you!
They say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", full disclaimer, I steal all your licks by accident. :) , Thanks Brother Tommy for all your lessons and heartfelt work on your channel.
❤ still making comments on the same videos cause I love love love love love, Tom Bukovac and his gift
Who are these people with the attitude. Yer the coolest dude on the Tube. I never pick up any negativity, if anything, You seem to help anyone who seeks it. Best musicians channel on KZread. While one of the most talented guys on the Tube, also the most humble in my opinion. Love the videos and content, the pedal video and the Gruhn's video were awesome.
More like this please good music plus comedy responses to comments - this one made me laugh out loud by myself! High - Larry - Us !!!
Nice video and great playing! I love the content of your videos and understand sometimes they digress, but I enjoy them and if I learn something even better. Probably a hypocritical statement, but some people don’t know how to see something they don’t like and move on with their lives instead of voicing their opinion. Keep rockin’ Uncle Larry! 🤘🏼😎
Uncle Larry is just a guy that knows a lot about music and how to play it.
Hey, Tom! I love all that you do but will never understand how you can play guitar so well in a wheelie office chair with arm rests. 🙃 Thanks for sharing your time and talents!!!
Nice job on the long form vids- really enjoyed ‘em
kinda like uncle larry just wears into your life. for me it is such a good thing. 🤟
Hi Tom - been here since the "Coolest Chord" video (Corona Lessons, vol. 1), but ONLY TODAY discovered that in my very small T-shirt collection, I have a Gildan! And it looks *exactly* like that picture you drew when on tour with the Dawgs. How it took me this long to notice the tag, I have no idea. Anyway, thanks for enriching my life for lo, these many years. 😊
Never stop uncle Larry
I love love the 335 vibe... I've commented prior you make it sound more capable then most! I like the shoutout to analog... Butch vig & Dave Grolh used tape few records back I think. As for the haters (congratulations - you know for sure now) your reaching folks..... You don't owe us on KZread a dam thing! Cheers brother 😎
Enjoyed the show bud, I take it for what It is. A try and learn the easy stuff and get a wee laugh. Keep on rocking it to new places bro. 👍👍👍🥃Respect to you mate.
Your videos just keep getting better and better!! Honestly! I love your take on analogue recording! Died laughing about singing in tune! No kidding!
Love that shit.
Love when you talk about tape Tom!
So true everything you said about the Gear Page. It also goes for most of the Facebook groups that I've seen. Internet quarterbacks man... I don't suffer fools well.
Hey, Tom, I hope you had a good day at work today. Here's what I think about your content: If all you ever did was play the way you do at the beginning of every video, I'd be a better player because of it. Listening to the way you put a song together gives me a lot of fresh ideas. I also enjoy hearing your thoughts on all the many things you talk about (I even enjoy the sports cards). The trips to the music stores and studios are always fun (I get a lot of helpful information from those). You have a great channel, and I genuinely appreciate the fun, useful and important things you share with us.
+1 for John McBride! Every time I've been with him was never long enough. Just a great atmosphere in his presence.
Cheers Tom, fine episode 😁
I drove through nashville aug 2021, made a couple stops. Could immediately tell it’s too crowded. Anyway, “change the world with hot licks”. I’d buy that t-shirt 🤘🏼
Changing the world with some hot licks!
Song was badass! Thanks
That Gearpage section on this episode is just hilarious 😂 Good thing is that there’s a great community of great people here on KZread that appreciate what you are doing here.

I was confused for a minute there. I thought he was on about Gearslutz (I prefer the old name ...). Not that I've checked carefully to see the difference. I DO seem to get more emails from GS than TGP though. That could be the source of my confusion ... that and being a doddering old fart 🧙♂
Dearest Uncle Larry, your playing is gorgeous and unpredictable. Every note you play is sonically stimulating. Where words end, your playing begins. However, words cannot describe the beauty of your playing. My greatest discovery as a guitarist wasn't a piece of gear, it was stumbling upon your YT channel a decade ago. I think a considerable amount of musicians would agree that you are the most important, and thrilling, guitarist around right now; and will be for many, many years to come.
