This is one of my most favorite Irish folksongs which I learned as a very young boy back in my native Co. Sligo, and this is definately the most beautiful rendition of the song that I've heard so far!The singer is very good, and the accordion player is mighty! Go maire sibh i bhfad Oisín as Tír na n-Óg.

This is beautiful. The tune is the same as Davy Faa on a Jean Redpath recording. Then I heard it in the movie "Dancing at Lughnasa" where "Homes of Donegal" was played on the radio.

When Sean McBride wrote this song in 1955 and choose the air for it it was always a great old time waltz and still is, wizzfoot should try and waltz to Paul Brady version I think if Paul Brady would like a song about Donegal with that arrangement he should write one of his own instead of tampering with the work of others.

Is the accordian a traditional Irish instrument? I'm not that familiar with Irish music, but the accordian doesn't come to mind when I think of Irish music.
