Haha that’s funny a buddy of mine and I did something almost identical to that about 8 years ago. Ours rotated a lot faster, went through multiple layers of rock, we pumped a slurry to flush it out, and stopped around 120’ or 130’. He still uses the well. It was all homemade and something I will never forget. People were amazed that we used an 2 or 3hp electric motor from an old water pump.

You need to think like the well drillers that built and designed the rigs you use today, my grandfather was one of them, he would have loved this idea, laughed at your comment and simply told you build a pneumatic hammer attachment to hang at the bottom of the "drill rods", honestly i could build a system like this for 5 inch wells that would give me a rig that is light and limber enough to get to locations other drillers dare not go. As well as reduce the amount of property damage or clearing that needs to be done when drilling wells, usually wells aren't drilled in places easy to get to, especially these days. No shit welldrillers these days are dieing left and right, none of them want to improve the process, they inherited a way to do it. And will never ever consider a possible alternative to the problems their business deals with in our modern Era.

Very slow but works. I wonder what happens when they hit water bearing sand. I dug mine by hand and at 8’ couldn’t dig any deeper. The hole just kept filling in at the bottom.

If you use pipe, and pump water down hole then have a space for the water to come back up and return to, you won’t have to keep raising it so much. The drilling fluid will remove the cuttings for you.

It would be ok to dispose of it by digging it in steps 1 meter deep, 50 cm wide, and placing it in an earthen bag.

If you sent a pipes down behind your drill head, you could've gravity fed water into the top, then pumped it back up at the bottom to clear the hole of dirt and other fine debris. With a simple filter, and I mean simple like a couple of t-shirts and a sediment bucket, you could use the same water over and over again, mostly clearing the hole until you reached your desired depth. At which point stop letting water flow back in, wait a while for the slurry at the bottom to dry out, then raised the drill head.

@@SuperFastDriver If you don't mind refitting your drill's power head, you can install a drill swivel to inject water down the power shaft to the head. This will allow the debris to bias up the shaft to be siphoned off at the top. It's a little more complicated, and you might want to buy the part instead of building it, but it would allow you to drill non-stop until you hit your desired depth. Combines with the return pipe for sediment, it could increase and simplify operation... if you do this kind of thing a lot...
