That fridge shelving works great for the small stuff. You could have linked the chain link section to the other section and increased the pitch with a smaller middle section. Great concept for a system though!

The shelves do work well. The chain link fence didn’t. I plan to make more of a Grizzly bar setup for the smaller rock

Great job, a few teaks and it will be working the way you want. It's going to be hard to get things to roll off of the chain link fence.

Thanks! I found that out quick. I think pipes or angle steel would work better

That was incredibly satisfying to see working. I could SERIOUSLY envision a 30+ minute, one take, no talking video where someone simply sorts through piles of rock with that contraption. Just equalize the volume to cut out the loudest loud songs and you'll have something really satisfying to watch mindlessly! That's the sort of silly video that goes super viral!

As for a fix to the second/lower grate, you can lift the angle up (which would also close the gap between the two grates). You could also try tilting the sifter contraption with the excavator between loads of raw material to clear the lower grate

It's working fine for what it is. Tweak it until meets your needs. Good video! Thanks!

Looks like the stone is moving too fast by the time it hits the chain link. May have to do the gravel collection as a second process after separating the dirt

That’s a great idea. The chain just sags with the weight tho. I plan to put angle iron and pipe instead of the fence

The angle must ensure the rocks roll down. The idea of the grizzly bar setup will definitely work well. Keep us updated.

It should work better if I increase the angle and use either pipe or angle iron fence was definitely a bust! Never know till you try . I plan on working on it soon almost have enough scrap metal I have found. Thanks for watching!

I’m currently trying to build one myself! Never even thought of using wood! ✅✅✅ Good work there ! Just like the rest of the comments are saying “use it until it needs maintenance “

When I built it 4x6 was cheaper than steel. Soil screener works great but the rock separator needs improvement. Need to put angle iron across instead of the chain fencing. Thanks for watching!

I think you came up with a great start for an efficient screening system. I'm no expert, in fact I'm watching this to learn from you so take my thoughts about it with a grain of salt. First thing is I think a steeper angle would help remedy the larger rocks piling up. Second thing is if the chain link didn't behave like a metal fishing net it would be close to perfect. Maybe if you had a way to make the center of the fence bulge upwards with a pole or post pushing upward. Think of the rocks as water. Right now the screen is acting like a bowl but it would be beneficial to act like an umbrella. That would probably be worth a try for simplicity's sake as opposed to a major redesign. Either way thanks for the video and the inspiration to try it myself in the future.

Thanks for watching! There is always room for improvement. I plan to put steel angle instead of the fence. Should work better

Almost need a second one for the rocks. Find a similar heavy grating with larger holes. Awesome job though. I like it

The smaller one is intended for rock but the fence kept bowing from the weight. I plan to put angle iron instead so I can screen 2” and smaller rock. Thanks for watching

If you strengthend the frame maybe with some steel you could just push it up and over every so often to clear it. Or a set of sliders set in for toes on the loader to mover it every so often. Geat invention tho.

Ya you are probably right but the fence definitely didn’t work. I plan to put angle iron instead of the fence so the big rocks will roll off better
