Homemade Compost Screener (tromel)- Sejalnik zemlje ali komposta DIY
This is easy and compact soil or compost screener / sifter /tromel, it can be mounted on trailer for garden tractor or can stand alone.
Almost all parts are from scarp material, we buy only net ...
You need:
- Beraing with housing
- Forklift wheel, front, small (Hand Pallet Truck)
- Motor from wash dryer or oil burner, minimum power 150w at 3.000rpm
- Big pulley from washing machine
- Oil barrel
- Some iron
- Wowen netting, hole min 14mm or 1/2""
IMPORTANT: Tromel should rotate with cca 30 rpm ... not more !!

Great video. Thanks! I will use a lot of your ideas when I build mine ! I did not know that you could by those bearings at Tractor Supply . All of the stuff required to build this design, is crap I have laying around the house/acreage.

Very good! Id pick the bigger rocks out. No reason to put them in and beat up your machine.
Great design! I think I might move my motor to the front so that it won't get hit by anything. Do you think a cordless drill could power that?

I would worry about those big rocks hitting the motor. I want one of these.

Motor is from scarp - it is from oilburner, but you can use any kind of motor with power min. 90W. Right, but you can increase clearing in exit. I do it in next build.
Needs to be at an angle where the rocks can just roll out of the trommel.

Only cca 1-2 cm is intake hole higher as outake hole.
Can you not build it at a angle no need to tip it then . But still good .

There is no need for build plan. It is so easy to build. You need only one 210l barrel, and one frame from 30x40 iron pipes, from pipec you build frame 1m x 0,6m. Depend of the motor rpm, you calculate transmission. Barrel rotation must be under 30 rpm. Screener holes depend of your use. For soil, compost I recommend 14x14mm.
