Homemade sandals, made from tire treads.

Although power tools are not necessary. It sure makes the job a lot easier. Pretty simple project your kids will love it you'll love it. Kind of teachers him a real basic concept of recycling. Not to mention at flights actually did go out, maybe your kids would survive? Crazy enough they're super comfortable. And they last forever. When doing this I made a couple pairs, motorcycle tires and passenger tires work much better for making shoes.
Hope you enjoyed the video and the song "Cat in the cradle" by Harry Chapin, can be purchased off iTunes and many other sites. Good song really makes you think. Nowadays we don't have time for kids so people put them in institutions call day cares and government schools,,,,then people wonder why their kids put them in nursing homes. Something really to ponder on.
Thanks to all my new subscribers we appreciate everyone of you don't forget to hit the thumbs-up button. And if you really like us you can Sherason your social networking

What a polite child. I grew up in the South where children are taught to be polite and respect their elders. You dont see that here in the North.

Bless you. I spent many hours with my daughters on repurposing projects. The materials that are wasted in the US is staggering. We would dumperster dive for materials and go to thrift shopsand yard sales. My girls are adults and they furnish their homes, kitchens and cars with used parts. By doing these projects as kids they sew, paint, sand and metal work. They get by on very little money. They think going to a shopping mall is a complete waste of time & money.

(Son, too, but girls really need the male point of view on things to balance what their moms teach.) Very true, but the idea behind the logic is that they call adults sir and ma’am. They can call me father Dad Papa anything they would like. But not teaching your kids respect for people that are older than them is a handicap to them. Everywhere they go they get free pop at restaurants candy etc., and when I ask why the people always say because of those kids manners. You can get inexpensive nylon or polypropylene trick line or braided rope that braids well and you can link it with a small key ring or large hog ring (which has plenty of other uses)in the middle. It's waterproof, won't mold and can be easily repaired with more line or by tying simple knots. You can hose them off and scrub them with any soap to keep things clean. Dry them outside in the shade and they'll last until the rubber sole rots away. And then you always have a few feet of strong line with you. also, the next pair you make you can get just the tread without the cord and steel belt layers underneath so you don't have to use power tools to cut through them. Make a cut with a razor knife across the tread on an old tire. Have a helper grab the rubber inside the cut you just made and start peeling it back. As they peel back, keep cutting underneath the tread to release more of it. No cords to contend with as they are left in the carcass of the tire and you still get the long-wearing rubber of the tread. Bonus points if you can find an old bus or big truck tire. A little harder to cut, but the composition of that rubber means the soles might outlast you. Downside is the sole won't be as stiff, but it's easier to make and you can shape them with a razor knife. A bit of contact cement also means you can resole boots and shoes with tire treads.

Great channel! You're very talented, but on a side note, your daughter is not in the military, so stop making her call you "SIR". You are her father. She should be calling you daddy.

She calls me Papa actually, all children in the south call their parents and grandparents aunts and uncles sir and ma’am. The reason for this is that way when they bump into other folks, they naturally are polite and call them with due respect. It’s training for the real world you might say. All books on etiquette from the 19th century recommend doing this, in older books anyways. Newer books they don’t but then again I don’t think things are getting better. I’ll go back to the old way😉

It takes a special kind of arrogance to tell someone else how to raise their child. I certainly hope you're paying as much attention to your own life as you are other people's lives. How they address each other isn't the topic of this video. In other words, mind your own business.

Back to the Basics 101 ...I just saw your reply now as I was responding to the other asshole. He may be, but I honestly don't think you are a bad person, not that you need me to qualify that lol. I grew up with abuse so it's easy to jump the gun. It's definitely easier to understand one another's point of view when you communicate respectfully, as you did, and unlike Robert Richard! I'm happy to hear your daughter calls you papa! Children do need to be taught respect. I believe in that wholeheartedly! I just think it should be more personal within the family unit. Before I went into foster care at age 8, I had my mom, but not my dad. Growing up in foster care was, for the most part, abusive and cold. Not that all are that way, but when I saw her call you sir, it just gave me shivers. Sorry that I don't completely understand the south. I never knew about the sir/ mam stuff. When I think of the south, I think of close families, friends, and awesome food, but I have never experienced it.

Joyful Noise when you go around telling people how to do their job as a parent(or tell them how to live their lives in general), you fully relinquish the expectations for people to be polite to you, regardless of what you’ve been through. It makes you appear arrogant, and generally un-likable.

I wouldn't tell him to make his daughter call him anything, but the militant sirring after EVERY sentence creeped me out a little lol. She sounded scared of him, like he beats her. I've never heard anyone call anyone sir after every single sentence, save for just a couple times in the air force when someone was in trouble and getting mouth-shotgunned for minutes on end.

Your friend need help. It is not that I want my children to call me sir, it is so that they get in the habit of calling other people sir or ma’am. It’s called manners, you don’t sound like you have manners by your flowery language. It is a disservice not to teach children manners, you will go further in life with manners because people will naturally treat you better and you will have more opportunities in your life. Have a great day sir. Happy trails Luke

+Someone Somewhere I didn't get into a lot of detail on this video. What I figured people could kind of figure it out 😁 I met a man that came from a polygamist Mormon background with 47 children, this is what they wore at their ranch for shoes they're big brothers and sisters hand-me-downs. Kind of weird to think it still is happening in America. Thank you for all your support and may the Lord guide and keep you. Luke
