Love this stuff man. Where I live there are no Greek restaurants and Greek food is one of the nicer foods in the world to me. My wife and I have decided to both focus on a Cuisine from a country of our choice. She chose Chinese and I chose Greek food. I've decided to stick to your channel for the next 2 months. I swear, my soul may actually be Greek. This is a sinful temptation. I'm doing this~!! OH, and congrats on your wedding~!! Lovely and exciting~!

Just a little tip of how I cook gyros and kebabs. Roll the marinated meat into a giant sausage inside cling film and aluminium foil and freeze it. Cut the meat from frozen and fry until cooked. I don't know why, but I find it gives the meat the same texture as streetfood style gyros.

Same. There's nothing quite like it. Was my favourite meal on my trip to Greece. Simple and yummy. I tried buying it at this Greek restaurant here in South Africa. What a let down 😓😤

Hi Akis, i made the gyros with tzatziki yesterday for the first time for me and my family. They loved it!!! It was a lot of yummynesssss! 🤤 big Thanks to my favorite Greek Chef 👊🏼🙌🏼

This was delicious! Marinated overnight, used Balsamic vinegar cuz didn’t have white wine vinegar, and Grey Poupon mustard Homemade Greek yogurt for the Tzatziki sauce, and Turkish red sauce with Aleppo red pepper Wish I had put some white wine in the bottom of the pan to catch drippings but would have made the potato base collapse Used an Israeli recipe for the pita cuz it puffs so well Definitely not Kosher to put pork in it though😂 Excellent, thank you!

For a certain reason in my life I ended up in Greece a long time ago, Katakolon, Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini, Corfu, etc. In every island, my favorite meal was Gyros and Mythos beer 🍻. I miss Greece, their beautiful outspoken people, the beauty of the country, Blu Blu Launge Internet cafe (Mykonos), and most importantly: Gyros 😉 ❤️🇬🇷 (Now I make Gyros at home every time I can ☺️)

We just cooked Gyros this afternoon, the tzatziki sauce, the pita bread, everything!. My family loved it!! We can make with chicken,i agree,but for me gyros is only with pork(even I'm not fun of pork)....Gyros should be always pronounced as Greeks do,no matter if you make video in English ❤️ btw ,this looks so good,I'll start to lick my screen 😃😃😃

Obviously a lot of the spices and other flavors are different, but every Mexican in the world knows this as "al pastor", which is one of the absolute most popular type of tacos of all time! Mexicans everywhere are, I'm certain, grateful for this wonderfully delicious cultural contribution :) Ingenious cooking method, by the way. I'm not buying a vertical spit, so if I ever want to make pork gyros (or al pastor!) at home, I'm going to remember this!

Thanks for this recipe. Tried this today and it turned out well. This wooden spits with the potato base is just genious if you don‘t have something else to hold everything in place. I will try this again but with some rosmary and maybe thyme.

ohhhh Myyyyy Goddddd. Followed this exactly and all I can say is wow wow wow. Without a doubt the best gyros I have tasted outside of Greece. Also used your pita recipe to wrap them in. My mum and step dad have both passed away but owned some land on the island of Samos, they visited there frequently. Finding your channel is like it was sent from above.
