HOMEMADE PACKET SEASONINGS // RANCH, TACO, SPAGHETTI SAUCE MIX // CHEAP AND EASY

Instead of buying packet seasonings, save yourself some money by making these homemade versions of ranch, taco, and spaghetti seasonings!
Ranch Seasoning Mix:
1/2 C buttermilk
1TBSP garlic powder
1TBSP onion powder
1TBSP parsley
2tsp dry dill
1/2tsp salt
cracked black pepper
Taco Seasoning:
1/2 C Chili Powder
1TBSP onion powder
1TBSP garlic powder
1TBSP oregano
1tsp cumin
1tsp paprika
1tsp salt
1/4tsp cayenne
cracked black peppper
1.5 TBSP corn starch
Spaghetti Seasoning:
1TBSP minced onion
1TBSP garlic powder
1TBSP parsley
1TBSP oregano
2tsp basil
1tsp thyme
1/2tsp salt
cracked black pepper
pinch red pepper flakes
1TBSP corn starch

    Looking for a copy of Frenchs spaghetti mix. Did not think of corn starch. The buttermilk powder I knew about through baking. Recipe on can makes great pancakes-- I add cinnamon and vanilla thanks!

    Thank you for the recipes! I used ranch dressing mix for seasoned crackers and little else until recently when I found a packet called Restaurant Style Dressing and I have no idea what is different about it's really good. I want to make yours to see how they compare. I would love to find a recipe for the Kraft Tangy Italian Spaghetti Dinner, it was a favorite growing up and I rarely buy it now (it's hard to find anyway) because of the salt, sugar and other additives.

    Karen, I know that stuff! It is right next to where Kraft egg noodle (brown box) used to be, and I figured out how to make that years ago. I haven’t ever had the spaghetti, though.

    @@SeeMindyMom Oh I remember that brown box too, it was a thickened chicken gravy(?) with little bits of veggies? The spaghetti is heavy on spices, I don't remember where I bought it last but I picked up a box when I was stocking up at the start of the quarantine.

    I'm in New Zealand Ranch salad dressing is a thing but I can't seem to find the powdered stuff anywhere and or buttermilk powder 😭 I may have to try substitute with normal milk powder 🤷🏽‍♀️ I found thisvid super helpful and encouraging to make my own! Love you channel and content

    I just made the taco seasoning. The taco seasoning packets have a lot of sodium. I just need buttermilk powder to be able to make the ranch seasoning.

    Mindy, do you add any tomato sauce or liquid when you make tacos. I made tacos with your seasoning and I thought I needed it a little liquid . The seasoning was delicious . I'm on staff at a Church and my Dad is Clergy . Keep up the great job!

    I made a dry mix for scalloped pots. Not yours but someone else. I made the scalloped pots and they were very bland tasting. What do you suggest that I can add to my homemade mix for scalloped pots. They were bland as heck.

    Hi, Terrie! I’ve never been contacted by WW. I would be a horrible ambassador because the primary thing I see them doing is promoting WW products, and I don’t typically buy or use those. I hadn’t thought about whether any lifetime members are ambassadors, though, I can’t think of any off the top of my head.

    NOooo, Cumin IS the taco flavor! You need the half cup of cumin instead. Also I just add a $0.25 can of tomato sauce instead of the corn starch and skip the carbs.

    @@krisqueen5939 1/4 cup cumin 2 Tb chili powder 1.5 tsp garlic powder 1 Tb salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional) The cumin/chili powder ratio 2:1 is pretty good. Salt is on the money I think. More garlic, paprika and pepper could be more to your individual taste, but they do make a more dynamic flavor. I think the onion powder that Mindy put in is a great idea, prob 1 Tb or a bit less would be good for this recipe. Let me know what you think!
