Mine remain firm but soft, I press it into a silicone mold and they bake up perfect. My Aussie loves these, and because they're healthy for her and she's under weight due to suffering from severe arthritis (which the CBD oil and supplement powder has relieved!!) she gets them when she asks. She eats really well now, too, and I cook her food. Love these treats, and Dr. Jones!! My new best friend!

I used to make similar things with tuna and oatmeal (after seeing a recipe for cat treats that my cats hated but the dog liked), but I couldn't give the poochie too many because of the tuna, and he'd get sick of the oatmeal after a while. Having celiac disease, I have a ton of gluten free flour! I think I'll have fun making these at the same time as my own treats

@@VeterinarySecretsI am obsessed with new home made treat recipes for my golden retriever Luna. I too over baked the cookies. Plus I used organic coconut flour which didn’t stick together very well. Quick question, is gelatin safe to use in dog treats? Like the plain pure gelatin powder without any other ingredients on the label. I found another treat video that uses puréed chicken and gelatin but I want to make sure that’s safe. Or if I should avoid that recipe.

If one wants grain free you can try a coconut flour or other safe nut flour with no risers. We did skinny little strips like strings of yarn and then cut either before or after baking and it made for great training bits so doggy does not get chubby. I did this to keep up with all the training on an active breed. Ill try this for us(minus your product of course unless it is human grade?) and the dog looks yum. Blessings.

I slice kidneys and livers to make iron rich dehydrated treats for my dogs. One of my boys is a little anemic. I give him one of those and his tongue pinks right up. I also dehydrate pig ears and knuckles and other bones for my dogs to chew on.

i appreciate the adding adding the supplement powder in but as the treat will be baked/cooked, doesn't that mean the nutrients will lost anyway? from your previous video on home made dog food, you have pointed out that these supplements are best to add in AFTER food is cooked, so it would have been no additional value using the supplement this way in my opinion, if we are consistent with the approach. of course i appreciate that for baked treats it is not practical to add after baking but in making this, chickent stock would suffice?

Hi Dr Jones, thank You for this awesome video. I am waiting for an english bulldog pup for Christmas and I am planning to cook his food, but I know I have to include a lot of calcium in his food, I know that puppies need more calcium than adult dogs...but I can't find the answer to how much calcium and how to include it on a homemade food for a puppy! English bullies are more prone to allergies, so I would like to exclude chicken from his diet just in case...so... my question: how to make at home a calcium enriched food for an english bulldog puppy? (Preferably no chicken included) please, help Dr Jones, thank you!

Ear Polyps? My mother has cocker spaniel that is 3 1/2 yrs old. Weighs 37 lbs female. She gives her an allergy pill everyday, flea pill, heartworm pill every month. She has been on Steroids, antibiotics, for a good 6 months, trying to get rid of INFECTION. On feet first, then ears, now polyps, etc... You know the deal. I keep trying to tell her to quit taking her to veterinarian. That's all they do... Pills! The dog is being tortured!! Poor thing. Now they are trying to do surgery. Blood has been in discharge from ear. She feeds Blue Buffalo. She won't consider raw, vet said "no". She can't go against him, heaven forbid. Also, what do you think about using wet wipes, human, on dog after #2? She does that too EVERYTIME. Has all kinds of chemicals in them. That can't help

Hi, Chronic severe allergies/ear infections are very hard to treat. The ear infection needs to be cultured. If open, encourage your Mom to rule out yeast as underlying cause. Here is more info:kzread.info/dash/bejne/doCD1pNpfdu6mcY.html and the ear: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pmWHlputp6W2YcY.html

She definitely has a yeast infection. Vet verified that when it was just feet itching chronically. Vet solution: ANTIBIOTICS AND STEROIDS!! The ear polyps, is worst thing now. The food probably.. Started things. Can other things like all meds, medicated wipes, home fragrances, etc. Increase everything. How quick can polyp appear and grow to a size to inhibit seeing past polyp? Also what can they do to help get system back regulated from all these medications being given? I KNOW YOU ARE BUSY! I AM VERY SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, BUT GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR ADVICE. I wish all vets would be like you so we could break away from this TORTURE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. human and canine. It takes a special person to do what you are doing.. THANKS!
