Allie Glamour honestly they’re not even that hard to make, I’ve made croissants many times before successfully. It’s just the time that goes into the repetitive rolling out and folding that is annoying

Most Americans call them chocolate croissants, and this is an American company. Whether you like it or not, most of the world have no clue what a pan au chocolate (The name obviously) is and would rather prefer calling it a chocolate croissant since it's easier and way more well known.

I made these today! I started yesterday, of course, and I have limited experience with baking so I was anxious about how they would turn out. The weather is still not very hot where I live, so I didn't have much trouble with the dough. The only difficult part was my lack of a roller. Too much rolling! The rolling pin hurt my hands a lot 😂 The end results were delicious, definitely worth the effort. I know people say they would rather just go to the bakery, and I'd agree. But unfortunately bakeries in my country just. Can't. Get it. Right. I don't know what they're making, but it's definitely not pain au chocolat. One thing to consider: In my experience, the dough could do with just a bit more sugar. Especially since the two bar chocolate filling isn't much once they puff up. Which I like, since I'm not fond of a lot of filling. But depending on preference, you might increase the sugar a bit if you want to have a sweet taste in the dough. With 50 g, it just tasted buttery, no sign of sweetness. Thank you for your hard work Alix ♥️ I'd really missed this taste 😍

Seriously. There's a reason why even seasoned chefs and/or bakers will forego making their own puff pastry when making a dish and showing people. Gordon Ramsay even used premade in one of his videos, saying you can buy awesome puff pastry and save yourself the hassle.

tinkerbella8290 Croissant is rolled in a triangle shape. Pain au chocolat is rolled in a rectangle shape (like in the video), but you put chocolate inside as well (like in the video). The doe is the same, and the technique of folding over and over is the same as well, this technique lets the pastry grow bigger while cooking. Basically, it's just the way it's rolled that's different.. (but croissant tends to have more butter though..) voila ! 👍

I don't know if people get the point here. Even if it may not look like or be called a Pain au whatever you call it (I've been reading the comments and I seriously have no clue about what it's supposed to be called? I'm confused) in many countries, it's known as Chocolate Croissants or just Croissants. Once a name sticks, it stays there until people decide to change it. Don't go bashing random people or Americans for this or start blaming them saying it's their fault that muslims hijabs were going to be banned. Yes I know it's respecting another person's culture, but don't you realise that not everybody will respect you and your culture? This is a world full of many people with many different cultures and religions and half the time, they don't give a damn about you and your Croissants, just as long as they can satisfy themselves with the flavour and joy that it actually tastes nice. And I bet you, majority of the people here don't care what it's called, but they want to eat it. Just because people call it Chocolate Croissants doesn't mean they're disrespecting someone elses culture. They're just sticking to what everyone else calls it or what it says on the labels. So I don't get why most of you are going around telling people to kill themselves or go get a life just because they call it what we believe it's called. I don't get why you's are using other cultures to defend yours And dear all the people who are thinking "Another arrogant fucking American" Guess what bud, I'm not American
