If you add coconut oil into your beeswax (up to equal parts beeswax and Coconut oil) you will have better scent throw, need less essential oils to get a good fragrance and the candle will burn longer. I typically do about 16oz of CO to 1lbs of wax. Its worked great

Did you use a bit of wax to secure the bases of the wooden wicks or the glue tabs? Just curious - I’m wanting to make BW candles - I love the smell of beeswax ❤

I also had the problem with the wick separating ftom the base so I now clamp them extea tight with a pair of pliers.

So what link may we use to buy the best wicks with the most secure base? Without having to buy from two separate manufacturers. ?

It smelled really good! Definitely a noticeable smell this time which was great, and the wood wicks were so much better. I still placed the wicks a bit unevenly so it didn’t burn perfectly but huge improvement

Unfortunately essential oils are hormone disruptors as well as central nervous system disruptors. So sad. Use whole herbs and flower petals to send your products.

I thought essential oils were toxic when heated? Don’t they release the gas formaldehyde? I wanted to make some scented candles but I lost hope. I don’t know if it’s true or not. I got info overload and gave up and settled for unscented and just run a diffuser for scent.

I wasn’t aware of this but looked it up and it can happen with certain oils it looks like. Thankfully lavender is safe even at high temps :)

I'd add only E.O.s that are ingestible. If you can't eat it, don't snort it or apply to skin.

Great work. Maybe check what temperature is good to add your essential oils in. If it's too hot it will evaporate.

Why did you put the essential oils last Why not mix it with the melted wax in the pot , is it because wax is too hot??? Thanks
