You are just so delightful! I like how you cooked your cake in a glass pan. I don't know why, but I prefer cake cooked that way over metal pans. Of course, now I want cake. Happy to hear you had a great time on your trip. Hugs....

The one thing I like about plain cake mix is if I want chocolate, I add 1/4 cup dark cocoa powder. If I want lemon, I add the lemon flavoring and some zest, orange same thing. I like making poke cakes and when you need to take one somewhere, you never bring any back lol Barb you are so right! One can never have enough spatulas. We need big ones, narrow ones and little ones😂😂 you got a super bargain at $2 each thank you for the videos you share😉👍🇺🇸🧁🍰🍞

It sounds like it tasted good 😋 Now I'm going to have to slow mo this thing down so that I can write this out because I have brain fog right now 🙄

I keep the Gossner milk on hand. They come in the waxed cartons and is sold at Dollar tree. It is a liquid form and shelf stable for 9 months and comes in 1%, 2% and whole varieties and is so handy to keep on hand. We are not big milk drinkers so regular milk always goes bad before we can drink it and typically when we need it for cooking its too late to use it. The Gossner is great to have on hand for baking and other recipes. Now I always have the liquid milk at the ready. Never had a fail as far as it going bad. I also keep the powder as part of our preps. Love this cake mix recipe!!!! This is just one more thing I don’t have to buy premixed any more. Who knows whats in it too!

I've heard of that before, but have never seen it. I rarely go to a Dollar Tree, we have Dollar General here. I'll have to check it out sometime

Looks so good!! For those of us that don’t grind our flour ( yet), just curious, do you favor a particular store bought flour? Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us!! Also, would you consider teaching us a little about buying wheat? And demonstrate how to grind it? I think you grow your own wheat, but if you were gonna buy it, what would you get.. Thanks again..

I'll share my flour mill in a video, thanks. The wheat I use, is our own, I really don't know much about buying wheat. However, one of my Mennonite friends raises Non-GMO White wheat (we raise hard red winter wheat). I've bought flour from her, but have yet to buy any of her wheat. I have a pretty good stash of our wheat in the pantry, but do plan to buy from her, when I run out.

Using the butter wrapper to butter your pan is called being frugal, not cheap Waste not want not. Thanks for the recipe.

Having your own cake mix with known ingredients always ready to “go” is a great 👍 idea. When you go on the road do you switch it to a lighter weight container or does it matter with your rig? 😃 ❤️👍 Deb

I found you today and subscribed. I LOVE making box cake cookies. Your mix looked amazing. I love the idea of the powdered milk! Sooo my question is I do not think there is 4 cups of mix in a cake box and do you know how you would convert this with just reg flour to cake box cookies? I would love to stop buying the store bought ones!

No I don't sorry. And honestly I haven't bought a cake mix in several years. I'm not a very good cake baker, I used to say I can't even bake a box mix cake LOL

Can I use this cake mix to make chocolate cake or spice cake by just adding 1/2 cup of cocoa (unsweetened, of course) or spices?
