Homeless Man: The Restless Heart of Rich Mullins (Documentary, 1998)
Музыка
Restless are our hearts until they rest in Thee. - St. Augustine
"I hope that I would leave a legacy of joy, a legacy of real compassion..."
... a legacy of a life lived for Christ. From his Franciscan vow of poverty, to his unrelenting commitment to bring help and hope to children, Rich Mullins struggled to emulate Christ. His work with Compassion International in Bogota, Columbia and his dedication to the Navajo, Hopi and Zuni people in Window Rock, Arizona, are a legacy that continues to impact this world. Join with those who knew Rich best as they relate their sense of loss tempered by the glory of their hope, and with Rich (in previously unseen footage) as he reveals his heart and reflects on the insurmountable grace of God.

I was on a long fast just hanging out with the LORD and writing in my journal when I asked Jesus what He wanted to listen too. He replied, "The Love That Knows No Bounds". I looked it up and Rich Mullins popped up and the anointing of his worship flooded my room and I've loved his music since. Boy does Jesus have a good taste of music or what?!?! God Bless you all in His LOVE AND GRACE.
I am moved every time this is shared. Rich was a special person and his ministry is missed still in 2022. I am thankful he was at least conventional enough to allow CD's of his music so I can still have concerts in my car.

My children were raised on mainly Rich's music. I understood then that it was about getting it into their spirit even if they didn't quite understand it yet. Two of my four have told me when they need help it's Rich's music they play. Now their children know How songs. I miss him but God has shown me time and time again a connection back to Rich in some unbelievable ways. He touched more than anyone will ever know! Thank you Father for leading me to Rich in such beautiful personal ways that are only between me and you Father. What a beautiful vessel he was/is and will be when we all meet together again when we all go home.

@@samhouston4836 Same here! Raised my children on Rich Mullins The Ragamuffins Kid Brothers of St. Frank wonderful, sincere, excellent & exceptional Christian contemporary music. Still have the "Ticket t-shirts" from a concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 90's. My twins were so small the t-shirts were floor length! 😆 Love & miss Rich.

So beautifully said ❤: “He’s the best ever in blending God’s word, human nature, and creation in his writings.” - Doris Howard
As I was seeking the Lord about this terminal illness that is opressing me, a faint few notes from "My Deliverer" came to me the other night. I haven't heard that tune in over 25 years! I never memorized the song. I found it on KZread and my Lord JESUS gave me so much HOPE through that song. Rich, I hope you know that your LORD JESUS is using this song - even today, here on earth, in 2023 to give those who are opressed, much HOPE!

This has spoken to me today like nothing else. Conviction of 20 years of sin and running away from God. Faith, hope, and love will get me to the other right Godly side while still in this earthly realm. Please pray for me ✝️✝️🙏🏻🙏🏻😇😇

Hold onto Him and He will hold you fast.
First found this film on VHS in our church library almost twenty years ago. And now Rick Elias has gone to the Lord as well. If this film doesn't make you examine your own life you aren't really paying attention.

I love Rich Mullins...can't wait to worship our Lord and King, Jesus Christ, with him in Heaven!!❤❤❤
He is still planting seeds
"In Love's service, only wounded soldiers can serve..." Rich Mullins, I never knew you but your songs with the Ragamuffin, Richard Card did something to me growing up and even now... ...thank you for living Christ Jesus while you were here...
I listen to a lot of different music, but I always come back to Rich. When I need to slow down and get in a mental posture before God, his music always helps me. My biggest take away from rich's life was his relationship with God. It took me a while to learn what unconditional love really means, but when I grasped the concept, it was ultimately freeing. I could write a novel about the emotions and thoughts I feel from his music and life. I don't think any Christian really means to fall into the trap of being comfortable. It's just our nature. And yet, Rich looked more alive and content than most other Christians I know today. I don't think he meant to be an example, but he certainly is. What a guy...
This is a video I come back to every few years. I love Rich Mullins and how he put words together with so much meaning. And the spirit that comes through. So annointed
I've lost track how many times I've seen this, it's ALWAYS fresh, anointed, so thankful for Rich's legacy of love, I too listen to a variety of music but this music moves my soul, focusing on the main thing in life, Jesus, to know Him🙌🏼📖🙏🏼✝️

I don't sing " I am ready for the storm" by Dougie Mc Lean also sung by Rich Mullins without praying first. The adversary is real, I tell you. But our Lord Jesus is greater than him, 1John 4:4. Amen.
Reminds me of the beautiful story of Keith Green, who was an amazing man.

He was drinking and smoking pretty heavily at this point in his life. He reminded me alot of Hank Williams who also loved the Lord and wrote many beautiful gospel songs as many don't know

Yep...Truly...I thought that years ago too...❤ed both of their music, but Rich was extraordinarily talented...😮😀🤗 How he expressed his thoughts 💭 to music 🎼 and with poetry in the lyrics...He was a genius! 😲😂😀 He went to Heaven to be with Lord Soo young...like in his early 40's...I remember the tragedy...So sad...We lost a spiritual Legend...😥

It does my soul well to listen and watch those who knew this brother are now bringing forth the seeds he planted into their own lives. Each one a different story but all to the glory of our LORD.❤❤❤
Though He slay me, yet shall I serve HIM. 🙏
New videos are always exciting to see!
I needed to see this today. Thanks and God bless.
Still have the VHS! Thanks for posting this ❤️
Glory To God . R.I.P. Rich Mullens Your With Jesus . Praise God .
Most beautifully broken man who truly Loved Jesus❤
So awesome when you post
Thank you for putting this together.
Yes, I needed to see it this day. I have seen it before. Such heartwarming comments from those who knew and loved him. It would have been an honor to know him and his world. He is gone too soon but I am glad he was spared so much. Looking forward to meeting with him one day. Thank you for sharing this video. It is a blessing. Namasre
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. For a couple years there, it had been removed from KZread yet it was my favorite go-to video!
l love How he shared things and then gave us such heart felt songs. They have lifted me up in his love for God and people. I hope you keep sharing these treasured memories. I thank you all that knew him and that have shared your stories too. 💕
These so-called "Christians" and evangelicals today, have so much to learn from Rich.
God has his reasons. The Lord let Rich be here and teach us how to praise the Lord. God was ready for him weather we like that or not. We have a time also. So sing sing sing to the Lord everyone!!!! Rich would sing. We need to sing. King David sang. I met Rich after a concert in line for an autograph. We laughed. He was nice. Listen....when God uses you it just happens. God is very much alive.

this is such an appropriate story for me and everyone who loves I knew another brother whom I miss just like this brother the same.....its such a Wonder from our God, and yes we have to take it for forward learn straight ahead and it's not the end but.the beginning
Listening to the story of this broken man gives hope to the broken. God can and does do beautiful things with and through broken people.
The first song I heard was "hard to get," and it made me cry. I've been hooked ever since. The newer biopic made him sound horrible. He has some of the most emotionally uplifting music I've ever heard. God bless you all!
Bought this video documentary in 1999 I think it was.

Me too. At the Bible Book Nook in Vineland, NJ… great store, long gone.
Rich was one of a kind so much so I had one dream about him, it broke my heart the way he passed but it was though he knew rhis in his spirit .His music mean't so much to us all.
I saw this months ago, powerful testimony!
Homeless man.
Always like new. I often wonder how folks here are doing today. So I pray for you all..
AWESOME! Thanks for posting this!!!
Same here. I have no words to describe what Rich's words and songs have meant to me. First time I heard his songs were in 1999. He helped shape my own thoughts into words. And present it safely to the Lord after I had rejected Him.. Michael Card's Why? from the albums Joy in the Journey, and Poiema. And any music😅 .. by Fernando Ortega..
Only know of one other with the gift of writing and singing their own songs with the ‘measure’ of anointing that he (Rich) had.And that man is Bryan Duncan🤗👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️❤️ God is still using Rich in Heaven.

Love Rich and Brian
and when he heard Brennan Manning his life was changed.. all The Lords Grace.. hallelujah!!
Beautiful watching him play the hammered dulcimer. I have learned how to play one and I play hymns at Mt church.
Dear Friends, Rich is Irish, he is my cousin, his family married into the Anstiss, Morgan, Best, Jett, Lane Family Trees. I have been studying my family tree for 30 years and Rich's family is in my tree. He has been directed by God to do ALL THAT HE DID. HE IS RIGHT ABOUT BEING LESS OF OUR CLINGINGS SO GOD COULD BE MORE. MRS. FAWN CHEYENNE VALLEY JOSEPH WHITE CLOUD BEST ANSTISS JETT MULLINS
Really cool
The movie ‘Ragamuffin’ really impacted me. I’d never heard of Rich Mullins before the film. His struggles in life and his relationship with his father I could relate to. It was also through the film I found out about Brennan Manning. Through the movie I got the impression that Rich lived a wild life and he saw God as a wild God that couldn’t be tamed. I like that, I relate to that. People see me as a rebel, one who goes against authority but I believe Im not a rebel but a man who cannot be tamed, I wear the train wreck of my life on my sleeve and I don’t wear a mask. I sense Rich was like that.
God loves all of us
Love
Always challenging us to dig deeper, trust wholly, live more fully the life of faith. Rich, thanks again for your example of offering ourselves to Jesus. Jesus, thank you for life!
He was such a hippie. Reminds me a lot of Keith Green. Both guys were gone so early, but I think it was meant to be. Believers need other believers like this in our lives. They help us to get out of our comfort zones, which is often the hardest thing to do.
He exposed how critical and judgmental most Evangelicals are.....I like that about him. An alcoholic and chain smoker God used in a big way.
Rich had the soul of a prophet.
This may drive me nuts guys.
R.I.P. Rich, Rick, and Brennan
God has taught me… ok
Amein Amein Amen ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried
Beautiful quote of Rich Mullins copied from Purposeful Singleness website. Rich said: “Jesus said, ‘Whatever you do to the least of these my brothers, you’ve done it to me.’ And this is what I’ve come to think. That if I want to identify fully with Jesus Christ, who I claim to be my Savior and Lord, the best way that I can do that is to identify with the poor. This I know will go against the teachings of all the popular evangelical preachers, but they’re just wrong. They’re not bad, they’re just wrong. Christianity is not about building an absolutely secure little niche in the world where you can live with your perfect little wife and your perfect little children in your beautiful little house where you have no gays or minority groups anywhere near you. Christianity is about learning to love like Jesus loved and Jesus loved the poor and Jesus loved the broken.”

Are these free sub's?
Who's the bald crossarms problem at 4:40 ?
He sang for the poor and the lost. He sang for those who were abandoned by organized religion and Bible thumpers and charlatans.
*He was an alcoholic. The Bible says all drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God* He was a great singer....full of BS with his Christian beliefs. Great guy....other than his beliefs that the Bible is the true word of God. The Bible has over 1000 contridictions. Be sober minded...then why drink any alcohol...if even a little will not keep your mind sober.

Paul also told Timothy to “take a little wine for your stomach” but you are right every Christian is a low-down hopeless sack of contradicting horse manure of which I am the biggest. In fact, the Bible doesn’t just call drunkards hopeless but also the rich, the poor, the porn addict, the perfectionist… “all have sinned and fall short” I’m sure you know it says. I think that’s why I love the Bible because it is filled with stories of the worst of us doing horrible awful things and yet it is a story of God’s never failing always and forever love: the reckless raging fury they call the love of God. So, I’m sorry if it’s let you down somehow. But I’ve found it to be the most human and divine words I’ve ever read which sounds a lot like Jesus and a lot like us. “So, of all the religions in the world, if you want one that makes sense, I’d try anything else, but if you want one that gives life: I think you’ll find it right here.”
