@@rosaj.8617 im from Canada but basically our 'animal control' get overrun with animals, mostly dogs so its not necessarily the workers fault but they have to look for the dogs that will be most likely adoptable. Looking at how aggressive Maddy was when they went to get her, she probably would've been labelled a lost cause and put down.

Before anyone says anything. I'm not saying that this organization doesn't do good things for stray animals. I've said before on other videos that he would do better if he learned dog behavior, but he mentioned once that he doesn't believe even in the fact that a humans emotions effects the animal. Her tail is in between her legs. She was trying to run away from them. There's different types of aggression one is fear aggression (which she is showing). She has obviously seen those catch poles before. She acted out more when he was yelling. So she's probably been yelled at regularly. It may have been followed by physical abuse you just don't know. Having a calm, but firm voice would have been the way to go. I've watched many of their videos yet I rarely see them use them use a crate. So far the only ones I've seen them use are the metal ones that must be uncomfortable no matter what you put in the bottom. The woman could have tried looping the dog when he had her distracted. I really wish there were organizations like Villalobos that would do classes in rescuing.

Alicia Ramsey Eldad has said many times that is goal is just to get the dogs off the streets and to safety as quickly as possible.....sometimes that means dragging a fearful dog with a catch pole. I’m sure he knows plenty about dog behavior, but that part of it can begin once they are in rescue/foster home. Eldad is wonderful and knows exactly what he’s doing.

It's rare that a dog is a "completely hopeless case", most the time they are just so scared. You can't always get a good look at their true personality in a loud scary shelter with many strangers coming and going. But once removed from there it's amazing what some love, security and some good food can do for a dog when given a chance. You guys are amazing people, thank you for going above and beyond for every animal you rescue. Even helping by training them makeing em more adoptable.

My friend runs a rescue and she knew I was looking for a dog and that I'm experienced in training etc so one day I get a call saying that there was a little dog who had bitten the child shed been homed with and if I didn't take her she was going to be euthanized so 20 mins later I had a dog. When I went into that house the energy was insane! Kids with ADHD whod not been taught how to handle a dog, so many other pets, a divorce going on and when I left I felt anxious. I got her home and when I tried to put her harness on she bit me and I thought carry on you're not getting your own way and she's never even showed signs of biting me again with other people it's taken a good 3 years but she has realised people are OK. I did call and ask my friend why an abused, nervous dog was put into a home like that it was setting her up to fail. She came from Spain and the old man who had her dumped her at a shelter and they had to wait on a bench and this little dog went bck and waited for him everyday for 2 weeks despite the fact he'd abused her, didn't ever have her in a house and potty training a 10 year old dog is hard work but I wouldn't change one bit of it. She's my world and I'm hers ❤

@@kes78 That's amazing you took the time an a bite to help her out. I can't believe they put an abused dog into a home like that either. You need the right kind of "bomb proof" dog an take the time to teach your kids too on how to handle an animal outherwise it's just a recipe for disaster. We got Seiko and Rolex in a similar fashion, went to the pound to look for a decent sized dog cuz where we lived at the time if you didn't have a decent sized watch dog you got broken into. We went in only wanting one but when we saw these two young dogs that had red marks on their tag meant they were on their way to be destroyed just because they looked like pitbulls an were marked as biters. They were bull mastiff mixed mutts, and that's how we came home with two dogs. They never bit anyone or anything, an after they had time to decompress they didn't even growl anymore. Wish more folks knew how to do so with a new dog, world would be a better place.

@BlitheApathy thank you that's really nice of you to say. I wish people would realise that not all shelter dogs are "bad" dogs often it's been their owners and they do not act the same way in a shelter as they do outside one. I love Mastiff breeds I've just rescued a Cane Corso and he's amazing. His family had a change in circumstances amd had to rehome him and they were devestated but he's been socialised, he's potty trained, great with other dogs and people this family have put so much work into him so I'm going to continue their hard work. I always tell people who want a dog adopt don't shop! X

It’s just sad that only a few people are willing to help them because they think that a dog is just a dog . But I do believe that they are beings who deserves to be loved. I will consider this as a destiny if you guys notice this message and I am going to upload my first dog rescue if they respond so help me guys to reach Hope for Paws because there’s also a lot of dogs in the Philippines that needed help.

Then fell asleep in my lap. She spent the last 10 years of her spoiled life in my mom's arms. She gave us so much love. We miss her so. We only adopt our special! Family members

I don't feel this is an emotional response either. I assume wolves were far more hostile and a bigger pain in the butt to break in to living with humans than an abused dog who's scared of people and just needs a chance to enter some kind of rehab to trust humans or to trust humans again. Killing an aggressive dog's just the easy way of dealing with an aggressive dog.

I live in MN and we have very few shelters in where the dog stays in a building in a cage all day.. Almost all the organizations hear are foster based and when a animal is under animal care and control they are usually working with these places so they can go into foster homes ( instead of sitting in cages for weeks or months) if not picked up by there owner and of the dog has been there for awhile In fact the dogs are lapped up hear so much that these shelther have gotten so unbelievable picky especially with the fenced yard and must have another dog in the home. (Well how do you do that if you cannot even adopt the first dog. Not all dogs want another dog around. While in MN and FL I would just never let my 5 pound dog outside in in my back yard unless I was right there away. Why? Because, FL have those horrible cane toads that if my dog just touched it with his paws and licked his paw he would probably die from it before I could get her to the Vet 5 miles away. In MN we have Bald eagles and other predators type birds along with cayotes all over the place. I have a friend who is 68 years old and is in great shape ( much better then the 300 pound person running the shelter) but said she could not get a puppy because she might die before the dog does. Well we all may die before our pet does. I could see if she was 90 and had no plans if something happens to her as far as care for the dog but most these places require if you die then they take the pet back or the shelter require that they must approve any transfer of the pet other then immediate family. Meanwhile in other part of the country they are putting wonderful pets down all over the place. 80% of the dog adopted in MN are dogs that came from other states.

imissu.t.z ...The Hounds of the Baskerville were starved abused dogs trained to kill humans for food. It said that at the end of the movie and maybe the book (I didn’t read it so don’t know for sure book) So not their fault, again it was humans who were the real evil there.

barking serves to set boundaries which intelligent people should normally understand and respect. Barking blindly means I'm here who are you?? Until showing teeth means do not annoy or scare me any more or I will bite with these teeth. That hasn't got anything to do with the food she's happy to eat the food and still set the boundaries. But as time goes on and she gets more food for being less strict with the boundar she gets more complacent.
