German Shepherd tries to revive her baby and wouldn't let us get close 💔🌺

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

It is so hard to be a mom, and it is so much harder to be a homeless mom. Kailani was struggling to survive, and she needed help. Another organization tried to assist, but she was too aggressive towards them, so they backed down and asked #HopeForPaws for help.
This video starts sad but has a hopeful happy end to it.
With your support, we can save many more lives together in 2022.
If you can, please join us today as a member: www.HopeForPaws.org
If every viewer donated just $5 a month (16 cents a day), we will be able to save so many more animals... we can really change the world! ❤️
16 cents a day... please think about it and consider adding "Becoming a Hope For Paws member" to your New Year's Resolution list.
If you would like to adopt Kailani, please contact our amazing friends at L.A. Animal Rescue who are currently fostering her: www.LAAR.org

We took a chance with a German Shepherd who'd flunked out of foster care due to fear aggression (past abuse) and aggression against other dogs. When she first arrived, she shook like a leaf in a corner for almost three hours. The she put her head in my lap and rolled those big golden eyes up at me like "are you going to hurt me?". Broke my heart. We were never able to 100% overcome her fear aggression, but she'd tolerate other dogs at the dog park. Her ultimate weakness was orphan kittens, and she'd melt into a big puddle of goo over them. We rescued and fostered orphan ferals, carefully keeping kittens in another room. Well, one got out and ran to snuggled against her. Love at first sight! After that, she worried and fussed and made over ALL kittens like she was their mama. If they cried, she cried. Best part was them trailing after her everywhere! Our back yard is fully enclosed with 6-foot fencing, so when she went out to do her business, kittens followed. She housebroke them! We lost her to an enlarged heart 4 years ago. And I still miss her. Every. Day. If we weren't half a country away from California, we'd explore adopting Kailani.

Gosh, this just makes me think of my cat Stella. She didn't lose any babies, but she lost her one true friend, Lacy, a while back. She was the only other cat that not only didn't hate her, but actually loved her. They grew up together, but Lacy was older and took Stella under her wing. When she passed, Stella howled for days on end. She wouldn't sleep the first two nights, and she wouldn't eat or poop a day or two after that. I had her in my bedroom that entire time after Lacy had passed. For the first 4 or five days she did not leave that bed except to pee when she couldn't stand it anymore. She just stayed inside the blanket Lacy died in and let out these long mournful meows. Sometimes it almost sounded like she was screaming. It was probably the most intense reaction I'd ever seen any of my pets have towards the death of another pet. I'd never felt so helpless as I did then. It was so hard not to get overly emotional and freak her out. I often had to leave to go cry for a few minutes. I thought for certain she was going to kill herself out of grief. She managed to pull through with a lot of love and special attention. She still sleeps in my bedroom with me every night.

I wholly appreciate all of you speaking up, doing what our just reading know only Part of your good works and how much you help and save and care for God's 4-legged children who are really entrusted to us , aren't they? And what Treasures they are to us ❤️. (P.S. I still tear on these; And on memories of my own Precious Ones who spent YEARS in my life, crucial years of my life: Never losing thought and times, years *thank God* with them. (Except for the very first from my Grandparents when I was very young, to the "furbabies" over my adult years, residing/school/working in varios locations.... A million thanks to ALL of You. Animal Lovers are Treasures . . . P.S. one place I resided with my Kitties for many Wonderful Years : when I lost Khaffir, a common Veterinarian actually 'hosted' a circle of a few of us who were 'pet-lost'... for us if we chose, to share, 'teach' , CRY .... 🐈 🐶 .... I also finally pulled myself together & wrote poems in my grief... Blessings, L. 💗

For a mother to go through. Humans and animals have that in common well most. God bless this organization. So glad to Kalani made a great recovery, sure she’ll be placed in a great home.

@@aggiekiss9783 Look at your original comment fam. "I wish they had some puppies that needed a momma..." That is straight up HOPING FOR OPRHANS. That's not "I wish IF YOU HAVE ANY puppies" or "I hope she could foster if the need arises". You are WISHING there are puppies without a mother, simply so this beautiful GSD has some. That's the same as hoping some child is abandoned or in the system after abuse just so your niece can relieve her baby fever. Nuance is important because subliminal messaging shows intent. Please rethink what your priorities are.

Can you imagine how a woman feels when she aborts her baby? Why aren't there people like you, to comfort pregnant women, and help them understand the pain they will have, the rest of their lives, if they go through with it?

@@abundantlyclear Why do you feel you have a right to dictate what any woman does with her uterus? You people are SICK! Any opportunity you get to rattle your Christian Fundamentalist Sabres, you seize upon. Here today, you are politicizing the sad death of a PUPPY, and drawing a comparison that suits your agenda. The subject matter be damned, you have a point to make, and you will MAKE SURE people hear it, if you have to grab them by the hair and cram it down their throat on a stick!
