Thank you for this concise, straightforward no B.S. review, which helped me make my decision to buy the Anvil.
Great reviews! I was looking at both of these and your review helped me to decide on the Anvil! Thank you Jay!
Good stuff man. I’m sold on the anvil
Really helpful video, appreciate the detailed look at these!
Nice job - Very helpful!! Thanks.
I recently bought a northern brewer Sovereign 8.4 gallon stainless steel fermenter. I’m super impressed with its performance. It’s a flat bottom but haven’t had any trouble with it. For $164 (with a 20% off coupon) it’s a real deal!
Great review! You pointed out things others have missed in other videos. You have a great presence on camera as well. Keep up the good work, looking forward to more videos!
First time use yesterday of the Anvil. I was skeptical and initially leaning towards Brew Tech but after watching your video, glad I went to an Anvil. I can easily make it stackable with a few modifications. Thanks for the video.
Excellent explanation of the differences.
Thanks for the great comparison sir!
Very nice video, straight to the points and very well and simply explained!
Nice side by side comparison. I vote Anvil as well.
Good review, Jay. I have been wanting to upgrade my fermenters for years, just not sure which SS fermenter to go with. Your review was very helpful. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the video. Was originally going to get my husband 2 brewtechs to upgrade his home brews, but he has giant polish sausage fingers and would probably get super frustrated with the collapsible handles you pointed out. Just ordered the Avnil.
The biggest problem I can picture is dip tube clogging from dry hopping during transfer, with something like a NEIPA. To anyone who has had either have you encountered this with simple gravity transfers? I'm looking to transition from Better Bottles to one of these 2, after non-stop siphon frustrations every batch I've just hit my limit. Thanks for the side by side Jay, solid review!
Super helpful! I'm just taking the next step in my homebrewing... had a super simple setup for the past 6 months with a cheap propane setup. Just bought a Robobrew and have been considering upgrading to a decent fermenter as well. This was a perfect comparison as I've been taking a hard look at the Anvil. Do you/how to you dry hop with the Anvil?

I have never dry hopped so no, I haven't done it with the Anvil. I don't think it would be any harder than any other rig. The whole lid comes off easy enough.

Two magnets coated in food grade silicone, one inside and one outside, can hold a dry hop addition in the domed lid of the anvil. Just pull the magnet off when ready.
I have the Mini Brewtech. It was recommended to have one silicone O-ring, on the outside between the spigot and the bucket, and none on the inside against the nut. Is that what you did? I found that the spigot got alarmingly loose when I did that. I am tempted to put an O-ring on the inside too.

I always put a seal on the inside. On all my weldless fittings there was a rubber seal on both sides of the pot but I'd think if you only have one it should be on the inside.
I wish SS BT sold the chilling coil and lid separately. I have a Glycol chiller and don't need the temperature controller. I need another fermenter, leaning towards the Anvil.

I use anvil with glycol, don't buy anvil glycol coil, it works for temp regulation, but it can't crash. I got a temp twister and bent the lines 90 degrees and mounted it on the upper side wall, been working great.
